Please jump in anytime my friend. This is an open forum and you should be free to express your opinions wherever possible or whatever tickles you,

It is just that, there are a few of us who have watched a previous show together and are familiar with each other's idiosyncrasies. Some of us are highly opinionated nuts ( me🤡) and love to hammer down good debates. Some are really funny too. So, it is truly a good mix of people. Most of us, even if we disagree, we do it with respect, and try to put our points across.
Look at Shalzie and me🤣

Aww Mili dear you are so sweet🤗

Your words really touched my ❤️

Btw I was silent member here then sometimes I dropped a post in EDT thread but I guess I didn't receive that much reply so thought to avoid the forum.

But then story goes so well and I got my some old friends here then thought to start edit and so here I am 🤭

Honestly I am so happy with your post 🤗

Shalzie thank you so much 🤗

And now I will try my best to jump in here and there😉

Agree that Viaan suddenly becoming an extrovert from being introvert is surprising and very uncharacteristic.

Viaan discussing his love matters with 8 year old is getting onto my nerves as well.

But Viaan's character arc is not greatly deviated apart from the above errors. Because he's trying every possible way to get out of the wrong state of mind he's been stuck internally. It's a torment for any person to be despising one of their parent and not having a closure with the happenings of their past.

Viaan can stand his ground WRT his POV and opinions when he's right even now, convincing Teji about his choice, telling off Reet, even kathaa for that matter to stay out of his matters. Business discussions and all are taking a back seat only because the lovestory has to be progressed and him going crazy about this whole perfect dad trials is due to his over analysis, remember he could've simply refused kathaa, but why did he offer money in return of ONS, offering 2CR in return for talking to him, he has analysis paralysis and once he gets into that mode he goes crazy and berserk.

I even want to see Kaviaa taking up opposing viewpoints and resolving it.

IMO the current track is being focused on Viaan's past and him making efforts to make peace with it and kathaa helping him in that, the CVs are unveiling tracks like peeling the layers of an onion.

I am the overanalysing types.🤪

This is interesting. Mango wrote some really great posts on Viaan's character, and I agree with her. For a person such as Viaan who has had to bear the burden of seeing his father leave, his mother breaking down in front of him, living a reverse role of being the adult in his dysfunctional relationship with his mother and shutting himself off from the world and functioning as a machine, I do not feel that the character arc is actually realistic. I understand that Viaan let go and gave in to his feelings of being in love but I feel that this would have played out differently in the real world. I would have expected Viaan to retain his maturity and intensity, and adopt a cautious approach towards Katha. People don't just start smiling like Viaan did. I don't even understand why he took a backseat in Earth Con. I still remember the Viaan from the first few eps and the way he dealt with Abdali. This Viaan is nowhere to be seen anymore. I agree that people change but I have rarely seen people let go of their inherent characteristics to this extent. He defers to Katha in everything, and treats her as if she is an expert in everything. Why will a mature and intelligent guy like Viaan even share his feelings with a child? I understand that he is reliving his childhood via Aarav but I would expect him to still behave rationally as an adult.

Mili will probably be laughing reading this post. I am Team Viaan but even I can admit that liberties have been taken with his character to the extent that we cannot relate current Viaan with initial Viaan.

Lately, I keep expecting Viaan to stand up to Katha and not let her walk over him. I loved the scene where he told her to respect his decision. I expect more of this...just give me firm Raghuvanshi and I will be happy.

Having said all this, I don't over-analyse the show as much and enjoy it while watching. I have friends here who make me go in analysis mode🤣

I would love to read your POV on Viaan's character arc😊

I feel like Katha still retains the core essence of what has been shown since the beginning. Same cannot be said for Viaan. Smriti wrote a post on Viaan's characterisation, which I agree with fully. Since Ehsan reacted the way we did, I feel like the writers are deliberately making Viaan act like an idiot at times. I feel like we are on track to get a more balanced Viaan.

Shalzie...

I just came across this description of Viaan by Adnan from a recent interview. It kind of is in line with what I had written about Viaan. Thought of sharing with you as a fellow team-Viaan member struggling to find justification for his current behaviour and state of mind😆!!

Interviewer:. "Viaan has a very cute bond with all – mother, Katha and Ehsan. How would you describe him?"

Adnan: "I think Viaan’s emotional side is that he stopped growing when his father left. He has always been that child when it comes to emotions. He comes from a pure place. With his mom, he has taken on the role of someone who has grown up and is mature. But deep down in his heart, he is still the same."

That to some extent explains his current characterisation. And as he grows out of this phase we will get a more balanced Viaan😊

Hey Smriti ji,

I agree Viaan’s growth hasn't stopped but deprived of its expression somewhere, his trauma numbed his emotional growth which can happen through expression. My question is what traits of present Viaan can we see and what can be changed.

am still laughing whenever I think of your last tag -- "not so aam mango.falooda ji" 🤣🤣

not sure which post of mine bamboozled you. hahhahaha... 🤣🤣🤣

that said, shalzie basically did a great job in summarizing what I had written about viaan over the last few weeks. for me, it is the high live wire tension that is missing from the drama. do you remember when he ran to meet katha in bare foot when he found out she was a mom? or when he yelled in the beginning episodes when katha overrode him and contacted that amitha? or when he froze and just drove back when he saw the supposed mistress at the traffic signal? basically those dhoom dhoom moments are not there now. that is the disconnect with me because the character chart does not flow and so I skip episodes. I am not on edge waiting to see what the next episode will bring.

I am okay with CVs peeling onion but not if it is so boring that we don't even shed tears and instead forget the onions are there. 😆

I love every interaction I have with every forum member that's why you are aam nahi khaas hai mere liye🤗

BTW your user name is super cool, 👌 if you don't mind, may I know your real name.

I like your perspective on KA, agree the intensity is missing even I have the complaint. I think the CVs are in a fix, because they can't let viaan shout at katha like during amrutha kaand, without creating a big tamasha they can't make viaan running barefoot kind of an intense scene. When he's trying to make peace with his past especially when he goes to meet the lady I expect they can probably recreate Viaan gasping for breathe kind of intensely emotional scene.

I agree the initial intensity fizzled out and I no longer feel like rewatching the episodes and not even looking forward to the episodes on Wednesdays and Thursday's because I found tere bin(TB) more intense and interesting than this.

Thanks for sharing Smriti. Gives us an insight in Adnan's understanding of the character.

yea, I miss the initial intensity. I am watching mere ban jao. it is a bit slow but the villain genuinely gives me the creeps and so I am on edge watching him every week cooking up some manipulation.

Mango ji I'm a foodie too,😉 but very finicky about my choices😡, those tacky food connoisseur types(lowkey feel like them somewhere😎)🤣 I like to be on always fully charged giggly head mode, hence became always rockz.

Will give MBJ a try, but please don't watch TB it's addictive and ab my DH is singing "Tere bin jiya jaye na"🤣

I was a nerdy geek, and my husband is not able to understand my sudden fetish for this serials, ITV, PTV kisi ko bhi nahi chod rahi hu mein.
