Sports Day-Part 1
"Annual Sports day is HERE!"
The new talk of the school. Sports day. Every part of the building was decorated with posters, balloons, banners, and streamers! Teachers and students wore t-shirts advertising this annual event. Everyone was thrilled, excited, impatient for the upcoming day... everybody except Kasturi.
"I still don't get why playing stupid games the whole day is so important."
Muskaan: OYE! It's not just "playing games", it's competing for that golden trophy! EVERYONE who's anyone will be there Kassy! We're so lucky to be part of it!
Raunak: Do you realize how many people want to participate?
Kasturi: Whatever.
Muskaan and Raunak wrapped their arms around Kasturi, like they usually did when she was in a bad mood.
Raunak: Cheer up Kas!
Muskaan: Yeah! You'll do great! My Kassy can do anything!
Kasturi wasn't convinced, but she eventually gave in. After all- she didn't have much of a choice.
--Assembly, Sports day team lists being read.
Ms. Lane: Hi boys and girls! Or should I say ladies and gentlemen?
*some laughs
"All of you know that this week, our annual sports day will be held!"
*cheers from the crowd
"I can feel your excitement, and so today we've held this assembly to announce the teams! Principal Gupta would like to say a few words before we present."
Kasturi watched P. Gupta hold the mike in his hands. It was of no surprise that he loved talking, but it always seemed that P. Gupta was never used to speaking into the mike. Part of him always seemed nervous, embarrassed almost.
P. Gupta: Ladies and gentlemen, we all know about sports day. Our seniors know it all too well, and I am sure our juniors have heard them go on and on about it! Every year, we get a tremendous response from not only our students and staff, but also the whole community! Before I read the lists, I'd like to clarify a few rules and regulations for those who are new to sports day. There will be 5 teams. Each team will have one team leader. These leaders have been recommended by the staff, and will be responsible for their team members. They will decide who will do what, and etc. This is not only fun and games-
Muskaan tugged Kasturi's sleeve.
"I told you so!"
P. Gupta: This is a competition. You are all competing for the grand trophy. News, media, you name it! They will all be present. This is a BIG event. And when I say big, I mean BIG!
Kasturi sank into her seat. Why did he have to keep reminding her how "big" this event was going to be? This was one thing she was definitely not looking forward to.
P. Gupta: Team one's team leader is: T.J Ronald.

Raunak and Kasturi looked over at Muskaan who looked like she was about to explode in excitement! Kasturi gave her a tight hug while Raunak cheered her on at the top of his lungs!
P. Gupta: Team four's team leader: Robbie Sabarwal?
*LOTS of cheers
Kasturi (thinks to herself): Robbie? How can HE become team leader, he's only been here for a week!
P. Gupta: Last but not least, team five's team leader is... none other than KASTURI CHAWLA!
*Some cheers, not too many
"WHAT!"
Muskaan: Kassy?
Raunak: Kasturi?
Kasturi: ME? What!! No... There MUST be a mistake! How can I be team leader? I'm not leader material!
Raunak: Kasturi! Relax! You should be damn proud of yourself! You were chosen out of SO many people for the BIGGEST even this year!
There it was again. The BIGGEST event. They BIGGEST event this year! The biggest talk of the school, the biggest talk of the city. This was definitely the BIGGEST mistake of her life! Why was she such a goody good? Why did the teachers have to recommend her? Why, why, why!
P. Gupta: A BIG cheer for our team leaders! You 5 should be proud of yourselves, because you will be representing your team. All your team members' names have been posted in the hallways. Each team leader will be given a copy.

"But Muski! I'm not you! I can't do this!"
Muskaan: Oh Kassy! Stop complaining! Be a woman!
Kasturi was trying to accept the whole thing, but somehow she couldn't! Firstly, she never wanted to be a part of sports day, and secondly she had NO intention of becoming one of the leaders on this BIG event!
Announcement screeching noise: Would all 5-student leaders of Sports day please report to the main office to collect their lists.
Raunak smiled at both his friends. Good luck! He told them, as Muskaan dragged Kasturi down the stairs.
"We'll do great Kassy! One of us will surely win, just you wait and watch!"
Downstairs in the main office, P. Gupta called them into his bureau. They sat, gathered around the oval-shaped table.
"Cecilia, T.J, Muski, myself, - that's 4! Where's Robbie?"
P. Gupta: So I'm assuming you all are present at the moment?
Kasturi: No sir! I don't see Mr. Sabarwal here.
Muskaan (whispers into her ear): Oh he's in for it now!
Kasturi felt her inside smile. She felt so bad, but somehow she liked the thought of Robbie getting yelled at. It would certainly be something to watch!
Knocks on the door
"Come in please."
Robbie stepped in. There was no "sorry" on his face, instead he just walked in and seated himself on a chair.
"HaHa! Prepare to be lectured!
P. Gupta: Very well then. Now since you all are here, I'd like to give you each the copy of your team member's names.
Kasturi: WHAT! Why didn't you say anything to him?
P. Gupta: Excuse me?
Kasturi sank back into her chair. Did I just say that out loud?
Kasturi: N-nothing. Sorry I was just ... lost in my thoughts. Go on.
P. Gupta handed out the lists and left the room.
"I'll be right back!"
Cecilia: YAY! I've got Arnold on my team!
Muskaan: Yea yah! Just because he's your boyfriend!
T.J: Hmm, I've got Dustin and Shelly on my team.
Muskaan: OYE! What the heck! I've got kaan khajura on my team! I DEMAND AN EXCHANGE (hits table with fist)
Robbie: I hardly know anyone here. This is all bull!
T.J: You've got Gattu on your team!
Cecilia, Muskaan, T.J start laughing
Kasturi: What's so funny? What's wrong with Gattu?
Cecilia: Kas. Nothing's wrong with him, but c'mon! Our Gattu and sports? He can't run one lap; forget competing for the golden trophy!
Robbie: I always get stuck with the stupid people!
"He's not stupid okay? He's one of the sweetest people here. You're lucky to have him!"
Robbie: Whatever loser.
Kasturi looked down at her own list. She scanned the names. Lisa, Ryan, Fernando, Megan, Raunak.
Kasturi: MUSKI!! Raunak's on my team!!
Muskaan: Oh really!! Let me see!
Muskaan grabbed Kasturi's list. She watched Muskaan's eyes scan the paper. Her smile suddenly changed to a frown.
"What's wrong?"
Muskaan: Kassy. Did you check your whole list?
"Uhm, no just until Raunak's name! Why?"
Muskaan: Look for yourself.
She pointed to the middle of the page.
"O-My-GOD!"
Muskaan: Yeah. I thought so.
"No! How can she be on my team?"
Muskaan: I feel bad for you!
"I feel bad for myself!"
--Back upstairs
"NO WAYS! How can I be on your team?
Kasturi: Anita look. I hate this as much as you do, but there's no way we can exchange teams!
Anita: WHAT THE HELL! Out of all the people- WHY you? DAMN IT!
Anita stormed out of the halls.
Raunak: Well, at least I'm on your team right?
"Yeah."
--Sports day
Kasturi waited by the gates for her friends to arrive. She felt restless through the whole night; thoughts about sports day kept taking over her thoughts. Her stomach growled- maybe skipping breakfast wasn't a really smart idea.
She waited another 5 minutes until she saw Muskaan approach her.
"HEY KASSY!"
As always, Muskaan had added her "touch" to her outfit. She wore a plain white tube top, and tie-died shorts, something Kasturi had never seen in her life.
Compared to Muskaan's clothes, Kasturi seemed to be plain Jane. She just wore her red Capri's, and white t-shirt. Muskaan's hair was in pigtails, while Kasturi just tied her hair in a single pony tale. At times Kasturi wished she cold be more like Muskaan- outgoing, fun to be with, and beautiful. Muskaan was so perfect, and Kasturi... Kasturi was just not.
Muskaan: Excited?
Kasturi: No.
Muskaan: C'mon Kassy!
She pulled her into the crowd of people.
"How many people are here?"
Muskaan: Pretty much the whole city! HEY! There's Raunak- I'll go get him! Wait here!
Muskaan disappeared into the swarm of people.
"Attention all Crescent University Students. Annual sports day will be starting within the next 20 minutes. Before then we will be having a short announcement. ALL students, please gather in the court canopy in the next 5 minutes."
Kasturi pushed her way through the crowd and met up with everyone else under the canopy. She searched for Raunak and Muskaan, but she couldn't find them anywhere!
"OW! Watch it will ya?"
Kasturi: Sorry, I didn't see you there.
"That's the point doofus!"
Kasturi: Excuse me-
Beside her stood Robbie, crouching down and covering his face.
Kasturi: So Mr. Big shot is in hiding?
Robbie: Shut up, I'm not hiding!
She gave him an "I'm so sure" stare. She knew he was hiding. Hiding from his "so called fans", hiding from the media, hiding from the public who would never let him live it down.
Kasturi: Robbie, Is hanging out with us "normies" so bad? I mean we're people too.
Something about the tone of Kasturi's voice didn't allow Robbie to speak. She seemed so calm, but stern at the same time.
Kasturi: Anyways. Good luck. May the best team win. (Smiles)
Robbie: HA luck? I don't need luck. Robbie Sabarwal always wins.
Kasturi: We'll see about that.
"Attention all!"
Principal Gupta stepped onto the higher portion of the platform.
"Your waiting days are officially OVER! Sports day is here! We have a lot of trust in all of you, as well as a lot of expectations. We expect you to stand by your team, to try your best. Winning is not everything, but it is certainly something."
Kasturi (thinking to self): Is that supposed to make us feel better?
"May I please ask that team leaders step forward, and assemble your teams together."
Kasturi, Muskaan, Robbie, Cecilia, and T.J stepped forward. One by one they called their team member's names, and soon they were all set to go.
Raunak (puts hand on Kasturi's shoulder): You'll do great Kas! Don't stress, I'm here no?
Anita: Will you 2 lovebirds give it a break? Gag!
Raunak: Anita, mind your own business will you?
Anita: Can't you 2 stand a couple hours without being so touchy touchy?
Kasturi: Why Anita? Jealous because you don't have anyone to be touchy touchy with?
Anita: You're such a loser! (Storms off)
--Muskaan's team
Muskaan: Trina, Sofia, Rita, Mackenzie, calls more names did I miss anyone?
Rahul: Hello? You missed me!
Muskaan: How can anyone miss you duffer!
Rahul: I'm not a duffer you idiot!
Muskaan: Tu chup kar oyye khotya! (Keep your mouth shut you cow!)
Rahul: Tu vi chup kar oyye jo bhi (You shutup! Or else!)
Muskaan: aur jo bhi kya hai? Tu karna ki chandhi hai?? (Or else what huh? What're you gonna do?)

Robbie: Why's it so HOT!
Gattu: Are you asking or stating?
Robbie (has been tired of Gattu talking for the past 15 minutes non-stop): SHUT UP!
Gattu (ignoring Robbie's attitude): You know what would taste good right now?
Robbie: I don't CARE!
Gattu: An ice cream cone covered in chocolate (mouth drools) coconut, caramel, (lost in his own thoughts), with extra fudge and vanilla filling...
"Attention all!! Task #1 will begin shortly. All students must stay remained under the canopy."
**Task One J
Ms. Lane: Hi everyone! I'll be announcing the tasks throughout today, and our teacher panel will decide how many points each team gets. The points are out of 1-10. Zero being the lowest, and ten being the highest. Once each task is completed, Principal Gupta will announce the points. Once all 5 tasks are completed, we will count up the marks, and announce the winner.
*Cheers "YOOOOOOOOOHHOOO!"
Ms. Lane: So without any further delay, I'd like to announce the first task. Our first task asks that all 5 teams come up with their own team name. Now, I don't want you all thinking that this is an easy task- with this many members on your team, you will have to come up with one name you all agree with. You will be judged with the following criteria:
- Creativity
- Team work
- Leadership

Anita: Okay, the "Parfait Toilettes" is a perfect name!
Raunak: It sounds like the "perfect toilets!" I liked Kasturi's idea, the winners; it's simple and smart!
Anita: Of course! Why wouldn't you agree with Kassturi! She's your little girlfriend after all!
"UGH! ANITA- THERE IS NO WAY that my team will be called the "Perfect toilets!" You get that?
Anita: It's Parfait Toilettes, and YOUR TEAM? Since when is this YOUR team? You're just a little stuck up loser face! And those stupid teachers- what do they think? By putting me in the same team with you and this pathetic bunch over here I will stay calm? NO! I'll get my daddy to fire them ALL!

Muskaan: TIGERS? Tu kya serious hai? (Are you serious?)

Muskaan: Tujhe to sab kuch pasand hai! (You like everything!) Anyways, I'm team leader. I don't like Tigers... I was thinking more like Team Girl! J
All (except Rahul): Yeah! Team Girl!
Rahul: TEAM GIRL? Hello... I'm a guy!
Muskaan: Really now? I didn't notice.
Rahul: OYE! I don't like that name! Tiger's is good!
Muskaan (completely ignoring Rahul): So team girl it is then!

Robbie: I'm not gonna hear no buts! Defeaters is the name- any problems with that- I don't give a damn!
Everyone shook their heads. Nobody had the guts to question Robbie Sabarwal- nobody.
Gattu: Haila! The Eaters! I LOVE it!
Robbie: Look. Fatty. The name is DEFEATERS. Not eaters.

----*Task 2
Ms. Lane: Okay so team leaders, you know your scores. Now prepare for round 2. Those of you who are far behind (smiles at Kasturi) will have to try their best to win this round. For some of you, this might be one of the scariest tasks, for others it will be a slice of cake.
Kasturi could feel her stomach coil inside. Scariest? She didn't have a very good feeling about this.
Ms. Lane: The task asks that every member of each team will have to climb the rock wall we had made especially for this day. Once you're at the top- there'll be yellow flags, 15 in total. Your aim is to get the most amount of flags! But here's the trick. The flags are located all the way at the top! You need to climb up to the roof of the structure, and collect these flags. (One flag per person). There is a 10-minute time limit- if you don't manage to get the flags in time, then points are not counted. It is a race. Whichever team's members gather the most flags before this task is over- will achieve the most points. Everyone is expected to climb this wall.
The word repeated itself in her thoughts. Everyone, everyone. That means you too Kasturi!
Ms. Lane gestured everyone to follow her. She took them to the far end of the school, and alas- there it was. There was the second task standing before them. A HUGE massive structure that stood approximately 20- 25 ft above the ground. Everyone was awed, surprised really. Every year, something BIG happened during sports day! This had to be it.

Anita: Okay, who's going first?
Kasturi prayed hard that Anita wouldn't mention her name. She knew that Anita knew about her phobia of heights. And Kasturi was dead sure Anita would never let this go. She would NEVER miss this one opportunity to make the biggest laughing stock out of Kasturi.
Raunak: I'll go.
Anita: Why doesn't our team leader go first? I mean it makes the most sense.
Kasturi didn't know what to say. Raunak knew. Muskaan knew. Anita knew. But she didn't want anybody else to know.
She looked into Raunak's eyes; he knew what she was trying to tell him. He didn't like seeing his friend so afraid- it was as if after so many years, that same fear was back. He knew he had to remove everything from her path to keep her safe. He was there for her then, he is here for her now.
Raunak: Anita. You're so hyper; I don't see why you don't go first! I mean, with all that negative energy you've got, we're bound to win!
Anita: Raunak just shut your face! I wasn't talking to you- I was talking to little miss goody good!
Some team members: Just go Anita!
Anita: UGH! Okay!
Kasturi breathed a sigh of relief. She thanked Raunak; if it weren't for him, Anita would've got the chance to humiliate her. But she knew she'd have climb sooner or later.
The whistle blew, and all 5 contestants began climbing. Surprisingly, Anita wasn't so bad at this as Kasturi thought.
Everybody cheered, "GET THE FLAG!" They shouted.
Anita reached the top, and Kasturi watched her struggle to get the flag. Within a few minutes, Anita climbed down- big smile spread across her face as she waved the flag in her hands! She acted as if it were no big deal.
Results for first round:
- Team Girl (Muskaan's team)- got flag
- Cheatah'z- didn't get flag
- Champions: *didn't get flag
- Defeaters (Robbie's team): *got flag
- No names (Kasturi's team): *got flag
The second 5 began climbing. This time, the competition looked fiercer. It was obvious that now everyone had begun to take this seriously. The determination on every contestants face was clearly visible.
From Robbie's team, it was Gattu's turn to climb. Nobody seemed to cheer for him.
Random person on Robbie's team: Ugh, we're gonna lose this round because of him!
It took Gattu a while before he got the hang of climbing. He was left behind while everyone was racing ahead.
Robbie: YO FATTY! CLIMB FASTER!!
Gattu (to himself): Chocolate, chips, pop (drools)
Robbie: WHY DID YOU STOP!! CLIMB!!
Whistle blows (times up)
Results for second round:

- Cheatah'z- didn't get flag
- Champions: *got flag
- Defeaters (Robbie's team): *didn't get flag
- No names (Kasturi's team): *didn't get flag
The next 5 contestants began climbing. Everyone seemed so calm like they all had done this before, which made Kasturi even more afraid.
Raunak smiled at Kasturi. "Kas, I'm here for you! Don't worry!"
He touched her shoulders, and she squeezed his arm. "I'm scared Raunak! What if I mess up?"
Raunak: Ssh! Why would you mess up? I talked to Muskaan; she said she'd wait to go last so she could keep an eye on you. If anything goes wrong, we're all here!
Whistle blows
Rahul: I'll go now.
Muskaan: Then what are you waiting for? GO!
Rahul made his way to the front where belts were wrapped around his waste. He wanted to show Muskaan that he was no girl- he was a man!
1,2,3 START!
Rahul climbed as fast as he could, and within no time at all, he had got the flag!
Rahul (breathless after climbing down): Here!
He laid the flag in Muskaan's hand.
Rahul: Khush? (Happy?)
Muskaan simply nodded her head; she was quite impressed with him.
Results for third round:
- Team Girl (Muskaan's team)- got flag
- Cheetah's- got flag
- Champions: - didn't get flag
- Defeaters (Robbie's team)- got flag
- No names (Kasturi's team): got flag
Fourth round was up- one more lap, and it was Kasturi's turn. She gulped a gust of air.
Raunak: Okay Kas. It's my turn!
Kasturi: Good luck. (forging smile)
Raunak: Thanks!
She watched him race off towards the wall, where some ladies wrapped safety belts around his waist. Kasturi closed her eyes tightly. She never felt so tensed in her life! A girl who couldn't imagine climbing a ladder- was to be expected to climb a 20 ft long wall.
What if I fake an injury? She thought.
No. I've used that one before.
She looked up at the great wall, there was her best friend hanging high above her. Raunak waved at Kasturi, at least- that's what it looked like.
6 minutes passed by, Raunak was climbing to the top.
"Only 2 minutes left!"
Kasturi watched Raunak make his way towards some flags.
"One minute!"
Kasturi wondered, would he be able to make it?
"50 seconds!"
Raunak grabbed a flag and waved it in the air!
"YES!"
Everyone on Kasturi's team began cheering for Raunak! She watched him climb down. Raunak looked exhausted, but extremely proud of himself- why wouldn't he be? After all, he did get them their third flag!

- Cheetah's- got flag
- Champions: - didn't get flag
- Defeaters (Robbie's team)- got flag
- No names (Kasturi's team): got flag
The last round was up. The teams with the most flags were the No names (Kasturi's team), Team Girl (Muskaan's team), and The Defeaters (Robbie's team.). This one round would decide who the winner of Task 2 would be. The real competition began now.
Anita: Ok Kasturi- either you win this round, or I will seriously get my daddy to do something!
Raunak: Anita shut up will you? Don't pressure her!
Anita: Well little Ms. Einstein here will freak out half way! We NEED to win this round!
Raunak pushed Kasturi aside.
"Don't worry about her Kas! Try your best- after all, the main thing is that you enjoy yourself- right?"
Kasturi: Raunak! I have a PHOBIA of heights! HOW can I enjoy myself? I'm so scared, I think I'll pee my pants! And I mean that literally!
Raunak (laughs): Muskaan's there with you, don't worry!
Contestants: Kasturi, Muskaan, Robbie, Cecilia, T.J (all team leaders)
They all walked over to get their belts tightened.
Ms. Lane approached Kasturi, the usual smile across her face.
Ms. Lane: Kasturi! Am I ever glad to see you! You know, if you get this flag, your team will win this round! Isn't that exciting?
Kasturi: Yeah... how exciting...
Ms. Lane: Okay team leaders! Times ticking! May the best one win! J Good luck!
As soon as Ms. Lane had left, Kasturi began to panic! Her palms began to sweat, her feet began to shake. She looked up, oh gosh was it ever high!
Muskaan sensed Kasturi's fear. "Kassy, you'll do great! I know you will! And if you need anything- anything at all, I'm here okay?"
Kasturi: Kai.
1,2,3 START!
Kasturi took a deep breath and quietly prayed a silent prayer. She extended her arm to reach a smaller rock, and then another one and another one. She climbed higher and higher, the higher she climbed, the more confidence she gained.
"This isn't so bad!"
Muskaan (calling out to Kasturi): Kassy! You're doing great! Just don't look down!
All she could here Muskaan say was "Look down!" So she did.
"OH MY GODDD!! MUSKI!"
She was halfway up when the thought of falling struck her! "Im gonna fall!! I'M GONNA DIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!"
Muskaan: NOOO! Why did you look down!!!
Kasturi: YOU TOLD ME TO! OH MY GOD MUSKAAN! HOW DID I GET SO HIGH!?
Kasturi held on tightly to the rocks. She'd never been so far above the ground EVER! Her heart began beating rapidly, her hands losing grip of the rocks.
Muskaan: KASSY! Hold on Kassy! Don't let go! It's all right, c'mon you can do it!
Kasturi (crying): NO MUSKAAN! I CAN'T! It's not all right! Please, I can't!
Muskaan could clearly see the freight in Kasturi's eyes. She knew she had to help her- even if it would cost her to lose.
Muskaan: I'm coming down! Just hold on!
Muskaan climbed down and grabbed onto Kasturi's arm. She looked into her friends' swollen red eyes and smiled.
Muskaan: If you keep crying, we'll all drown Kassy! (Laughs)
Kasturi let out a small giggle, but made sure she was clutched onto Muskaan. "Can we go down now?"
After they reached the bottom, Raunak came rushing towards them.
Raunak: Kas! Are you okay? For a second I thought you'd passed out!
Kasturi: I just froze. I mean I was so high... I've never been that high in my life Raunak!
Muskaan: Well you did great! I'm proud of you!
Kasturi felt guilty all over! Because of her- Muskaan's team had lost this round! Kasturi knew how much sports day meant to her- and to be the reason behind her friend's loss was just overwhelming.
Kasturi started to cry again.
Muskaan: Oye! Why're you crying?
"Muski, I'm SO sorry! I didn't mean to make you lose, I just-"
Muskaan: Ssh!! Oh Kassy!! (Gives her a bear hug) You're my BEST friend year! Do you honestly think I would've left you there? I'd sacrifice 100 sports days for you!
Announcements: Attention all! Task 2 is now completed. Here are the results:

Robbie's team: YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOO!
All team members congratulated one another. Everyone wore a mask of "happiness" when it was clearly visible that nobody was happy losing this task.
Kasturi shook hands with Cecilia and T.J.
"You guys did great!"
"Thanks"
She walked over to Robbie. Kasturi was genuinely happy for him, his team deserved to win.
Kasturi: Congrats! You guys did really well. J
Robbie: You haven't seen anything yet! Winning is my middle name! And matter of fact- Winners like myself don't like to be seen with people like you. (Walks off)
Kasturi (mocking Robbie): Winners like myself don't like to be seen with people like you! What a Loser.
After task 2, there was a half hour break to relax and have a light snack. Everyone split into their original cliques and made themselves comfortable on the grass.
Gattu: HaHa! Food time! (Runs off)
Anita: Ugh. What a loser!
Robbie: You're telling me! The guy's been gnawing at my head all day!
Anita: I know! This school is filled with retards!
Rahul (comes running to them): Hey Anita! Some chick is looking for you.
Anita: Oh, must be my nana! I told her to drop by- I'll be right back Robbie! (Winks at him)
Rahul waited for Anita to leave. "I think she likes you!"
Robbie: Who? Anita? I don't blame her, you know. (Laughs)
Rahul: Man I'm starved! Want anything?
Robbie: Nah. You go.
He noticed some camera flashes in front of him. A photographer was taking pictures of the banners. He looked around- there was media all over, and by now they must've realized that he was here! Robbie crouched down and pushed his way through the crowd. When the coast was clear, he got up and brushed off the dirt on his pants.
"AAH! Raunak stop! (Laughs)
From the corner of his eye, he could see Raunak, Kasturi, and Muskaan throwing food at each other. They all had chocolate smeared on their faces, but instead of getting pissed off- they seemed to enjoy it! It actually seemed sort of fun. Robbie couldn't remember the last time he had any real friends. Of course Rahul was there, but he was never really around. Usually Rahul was busy handling his dads business, and Robbie was away on tours.
Until now, he'd never really thought about his friends. They never really mattered- but seeing Kasturi, Muskaan, and Rahul made him think otherwise. There was something real about their friendship. Like how Muskaan risked her team's chances of winning to help Kasturi. He didn't get why she'd done that- he couldn't imagine giving up a chance like that, and to lose in front of so many people. Especially the media.
He was always taught to put up an act in front of the press, like when his parents were fighting, and his dad came home drunk and abused his mom- he was told to act like nothing had happened. Or the time when Robbie and Devika moved here- a couple years back. He was told to say that they had purchased a new company here, but the reason was actually their parent's divorce- Devika's fear that Puro would kill her and her son. Or even now! When the reason behind his arrival at this school is to improve his grades- instead what he tells the media is that he's here to make friends with the normies- to become a role model. But Robbie knew very well that he couldn't stand it here! He hated every second at this place. He hated living 2 lives!
Announcement: "Task 3 about to begin. All students meet under the canopy."
