Re-cap : Kasturi joins Robbie and his troupe on a trip to some interior villages to present a dance.

PART-20 : CHECKMATE!!!

The bus reaches Delhi. When Kasturi is woken up, she finds Alaana besides her and looks very surprised. 😲 Everyone gets down and Kasturi's car is waiting for her. Kasturi looks around for Robbie and finds him at the back of the bus, getting all their luggage collected. She walks up to him a little apprehensive and calls out to him......"Robbie!"
Robbie turns sharply to look at her. They stare at each other, Kasturi's eyes asking him......."What happened.....?" Robbie dismisses her with a........"Kasturi, raat bahut ho gayi hai. Ab tum ghar jao. Mei tumhe kal call karta hun!!" Saying that he walks away leaving a hurt and upset Kasturi behind him. Kasturi stumbles to her car, 😭 😔 the tears almost blinding her and all 3 of them leave.
The 'kal call karunga' becomes 4 days and still he had not called her! Unable to see Kasturi suffer like that, Gia decides to take things into her own hands. On Thursday around 6.00 PM in the evening, Gia reaches Robbie's office. Robbie is still at work as he is working overtime to meet a project deadline. She simply walks into his office without notice. Robbie is surprised to see her and even more surprised to see her demeanor!!
He asks : Arre Gia, tum?? Yahaan kaise aana hua? Sab theek hai na?
Gia replies curtly : Nahi Robbie, sab theek nahi hai! I have to talk to you immediately. Lekin yahaan nahi baat kar sakti....mere saath chalo...PLEASE! 😳

Robbie looks at her surprised. 🤔 Her face was very strained and she was very tensed. He decides to give in to her request and locking up his computer, he walks out with her. They reach her car and sit in the car. Robbie cannot stop himself anymore and asks....."Kasturi......theek hai na?"
Gia turns to him and looks at him in a meaningful way and says : Haan, woh theek hai. Don't ask me anything else.....till we reach some place.
They sit quietly while Gia drives. Gia drives into the wealthiest neighborhood of Delhi. The houses are mansions here! She drives through them and reaches a particularly big one. Gia talks to the security guard who recognizes her and lets her in. They drive up the pathway slowly. The pathway extends around the garden and Gia slowly drives on it while Robbie looks up at the house. The house is a virtual mansion, very aesthetically built with a vast thriving garden upfront!!! Its reeking big money just from the look of it! Gia sees the admiring look on Robbie's face and asks him......."Kaaisa lagaa yeh ghar?" "Its beautiful!!" says Robbie continuing to look at the house. 😛
"Kasturi kaa hai" says Gia. Robbie turns to look at her shocked, amazed and confused! 😲 Gia is looking at him and she says...."Yeh toh sirf baahar ka naksha hai, agar andar dekhoge toh you will be mesmerized!"
She points to a corner and says : That is Kasturi's bedroom. You have seen her studio, right? That whole studio will be the size of her bedroom!
She sees Robbie's face harden. 😕 He was thinking, what is Gia trying to tell me? Was she trying to rub Kasturi's stature and wealth on me? Was she trying to prove to me that I was not worthy of her?? 😒
Gia sees that expression on his face and realizes what he is thinking and says : Nahi Robbie, I am not trying to rub Kasturi's wealth in your face! You know me better than that!

She drives out the gate and goes and parks the car outside the house. She turns towards him and says
Gia : Jo ladhki iss tarah ke ghar mei rehti hai, woh tumhaare liye.....zameen par so gayi! Jo ladhki kaa bathroom bhi air-conditioned hai, woh tumhaare liye kadhi dhoop mei apnaa samaan lekar chal rahi thi!! Jis ladhki peh kai ladhke marte hai, woh tumhaare ek muskaan dekhne ke liye tarasti hai........Can't you see how important you are to her??? Don't you see what you mean to her??? 😡 😡
Robbie is stone-faced and is just staring straight ahead! 😕
Gia continues agitated : Who do you think you are, Robbie? God's gift to womankind??? 😡 How can you hurt her like that? How can you trample all over her feelings like that?? Just because she expressed her feelings to you first, you are taking her for granted?? 😡
Robbie still does not answer and continues to stare ahead, cold and hard!
Gia continues : And mind you, Agar tumhe sach-much Kasturi seh pyaar nahi hai, toh mei yeh sab tumseh kehne ki takleef nahi uthati! But you do love her......You know this, I know this and Kasturi also knows this!!! You can try as hard as possible to hide this truth, but you cannot convince us!! One look at your eyes is enough to reveal the truth! 😡

Gia tries hard to control her anger and calming herself down a bit says : Mujhe nahi pataa tumhaari kya problem hai, Robbie! But I know there is some issue because of which you are not able to open up........but I really hope that reason is big enough to let her go out of your life! I hope that reason is good enough for loosing her forever! 😔
Robbie turns to look at Gia confused and shocked! Gia looks at him and says : There is one more reason, why I decided to have this talk with you! Kaushalya aunty aur Ajay chahte hai ke Kasturi ka rishta Raunak seh ho jaaye. They are proposing to talk with him and come up with an engagement date.......and Kasturi has agreed to it!!
Robbie stares at her shocked, 😲 agitated and hurt!
Gia questions him angrily : Why are you so shocked Robbie?? Aakhir Kasturi kya karti? 😡 Tum neh hi usse majboor kiyaa yeh decision lene koh!! You keep telling her you don't love her, when in reality you do love her! You promise to call her but don't bother to!! You are not just lying to her, you are lying to yourself....but you expect her to wait patiently for you till you take your own sweet time to accept the truth?? 😡

Suddenly Robbie turns around and gets out of the car and walks away!! Gia looks at his receding figure shocked!! She closes her eyes and thinks furiously......"Oh my god! What did I do?? Did I actually mess things up more?? Maybe I should not have tried to prove my point by showing Kasturi's wealth!!!! In my attempt to help, I think I have worsened the situation!!" 😭 😕
She looks up sharply when she hears tapping on her window. Robbie was at the window! She hastily lowers the window and looks at him expectantly
Robbie asks : Tumhe pataa hai Kasturi iss waqt kahaan hogi?
Gia says excitedly : Haan! Woh iss waqt 100% apne studio mei hogi! Whenever she is too depressed, she turns to dance for relaxation and getting rid of her tensions!
Robbie thanks her and is about to turn when she calls out......."Robbie, If you don't mind, mei tumhe drop kar deti hun!"
Robbie looks at her trying to make a decision and Gia pleads........."Please....!!" 😳
Robbie walks around and goes and sits in the car. Gia sighs in relief.......she knew Robbie was a guy with a lot of self-respect and she feared that her outburst might have made him ultra upset! But she cannot make out anything from his expressions, and she starts the car and they drive out to the studio quietly. Once there, they both see Kasturi's car parked out. Robbie gets off the car and thanks Gia for the ride. Gia leans towards him and extends a key to him and says........."Yeh, studio ki duplicate chaabi hai. Just in case you need it!"
Robbie stares at the key for a moment and then he takes the key. He thanks her again and walks away without turning back. Gia leaves, wishing both of them good luck in her heart! She has no idea what Robbie was going to say, she could only hope that it would be something positive!!

Robbie has no patience to wait for the lift and so he runs up the stairs, 3 at a time and within a minute reaches the 3rd floor. He walks down to the studio. He is trying to decide what to do.......ring the bell or use the key! Finally, he decides to use the key! He opens the door and slides in noiselessly. He does not see her anywhere near the stage or the large open dance space and so he makes his way to the interior room. Suddenly he hears music blaring out from the interior room and the following song playing out.

Robbie walks to the entrance of the room. The entrance is to a side and so he is not visible to Kasturi who is turned away from him and is dancing slowly. Robbie can see her reflection in the huge walled mirrors while she is dancing with her eyes closed and does not even notice him. She is dressed in a complete black long sleeve footless unitard, with her long hair tied up.

But something happened for the very first time with you

And everyone's looking around thinking I'm going crazy

Her movements are slow but determined! And the expression on her face says it all!! There was a lot of frustration and pain on her face and in her eyes that she was trying to channel out by dancing!

Those words of the song really touch Robbie's heart! He relates that to her family's intention of hooking her up with Raunak against her wishes! Kasturi's strong and final movements make inroads into Robbie's heart and mind!!

Her dance is soul-stirring, makes a very impressionable statement and really affects Robbie! He just wants to take her in his arms and assure her that all is not lost and that he was not a solid hard stone as she is imagining him to be!! That he was very capable of feelings and that he was melting.....really melting!

As the song reaches a crescendo, Kasturi finishes her dance by twirling round and round and round, moving faster and faster and ends the dance with a fitting pose, sitting on one knee and one knee bent, her head bent down and one hand raised up to the sky while the other hand was covering her heart!!! That pose gets etched into Robbie's mind!!! The music ends and Kasturi gets up and walks towards the mirror in front of her where she had placed her towel. She grabs it and is just about to use it on her face when she sees Robbie's reflection in the mirror and looks at him dumbfounded!!! She turns around sharply and Robbie walks into the room. They stare at each other. Robbie is agitated. He walks close to her, staring at her all the time. When he reaches her, he sharply turns to his right and walks to the other end of the room! Kasturi looks at him surprised but does not say anything. He seems to be formulating something in his mind, it was obvious he was struggling to say something, to get something off his chest!! He turns around and leans against the mirror. He stares at her and says
Robbie : Pyaar izhaar karnaa, mere liye itni asaan baat nahi thi, jitni tumhaare liye thi! There were too many complications! Kasturi.......mei ek aisa aadmi hun jo agar ek baar apnaa commitment dede, toh zindagi bhar nibhaayega!!...........Kuch bhi ho jaaye lekin mei saath nahi chodhtaa! When you expressed your feelings to me, I was taken aback 😲................Mei iss commitment ke liye tayaar nahi tha! Yeh pehli sacchai hai. 😕

Kasturi is listening to him with utmost concentration!

Robbie starts walking again and says : Ek aur bahut important baat yeh hai ke, mei iss baat ko bahut ehmiyat detaa hun ke jo meri jeevan sangini bane woh sirf meraa saath hi nahi, mere parivaar ka saath bhi nibhaaye! Because I very strongly believe that families make us who we are and it is the bounden duty of every child to ensure that his or her actions do not hurt the sensibilities of his or her families!..................Meraa parivaar tumhaare lifestyle ko adjust nahi ho saktaa Kasturi!!! It will be very difficult for them to see you dressed like the way you dress! It would be not acceptable to them that you drink and party the way you do!! And I do not think they are wrong in their thought process, and nor are you............both of you are right in your own ways!...............I did not want to dictate what you wore, what you did......I could NEVER do that! 😔 I cannot encroach on your freedom as an individual just so you will keep my family satisfied!! So............it becomes even more necessary that I get a life partner who is adjustable, who can live with my family the way they want and live with me the way she wants!!............. Aur mujhe yeh pataa nahi tha ke if I could expect this from you! Yeh doosri sacchai hai. 😕

Kasturi is still listening hard but her heart is loosing hope by the minute!! 😕 He was giving her all the reasons why he cannot love her and it was breaking her heart all over again 😭 and Robbie is still walking from one point to another while talking.

He continues : Another very important factor was the social inequality between you and me!!! 😕 I come from a middle class family that works hard for its money and enjoys that hard -earned money and is very satisifed and content with what they have!!! I felt, at least for now.........I could not give you the kind of lifestyle you are used to!! 😒...........aur aisho-araam tumhaare liye kya maine rakhte hai, yeh mei nahi jaanta tha.....yeh teesri sacchai hai!

He stops and looking at her says : Yeh sab sach mujhe jhoot bolne peh majboor kar rahe the.................lekin ab yeh jhoot, itnaa badaa sach ho gayaa hai ke mei aur jhoot nahi bol saktaa!!!
Robbie pauses and looking at her and says...."I don't think that I can hide anymore the fact that I am absolutely, crazily in love with you!!! And........I cannot imagine my life without you!! 😳

All the tears that Kasturi had hidden in her eyes now flow out freely!! 😭 Her heart feels a rush that she had never experienced before!!! She rushes to him, straight into his opening arms and they hug very tight!!!! 😳 It felt so natural and right, their heartbeats against each other!! She had imagined this a million times in a million different ways!!!!! 😳 But it was more sweet than anything she had ever imagined!! She felt a new chapter was beginning in her life, a chapter from which she had lots of dreams and aspirations!! A chapter that was going to define her!! They both were overwhelmed with the decision Robbie had taken.......words could not describe what Robbie was feeling!!! What he felt was much bigger than that moment or that decision!!! 😊 They both feel the presence of a deep connection between them.........a connection that was going to survive any obstacle in their path! That thought will make Robbie tighten his arms around her and he whispers into Kasturi's ear....."I want to kiss you!" 😳
Kasturi slowly turns to look at him....amazed!! 😳 Robbie had managed to make it both a statement and a request!!! How was he so decent??? He was seeking her permission for something that he could have just done and she would not have had the power to stop him!! She looks into his eyes amazed and ecstatic that she was in love with such a gentleman!! 😳 Robbie slowly leans down and kisses on her lips........Kasturi closes her eyes as he does. She does not respond at first. Somehow she is all clamped up! But with each kiss, he is making inroads into the sleeping passion in her and before long the heat is ignited and Kasturi responds too!! They move into each other, closer than ever, completely enveloping each other, overpowered by the heat they both were generating!!!! The intense kiss was a way for them to get familiar with each other's physicality and there was no doubt left in their minds that whatever compatibility they were lacking personality-wise, they more than made up for that with their physical-compatibility!!!!!! 😳 .......the way their bodies responded to each other, they were a 200 on a measuring scale of 100!!!! 😳 😳 The room is heating up.......tt is impossible for both of them to stop themselves and so Gia helps them out!

Gia was on her last fingernail and could not take the tension anymore! Her mind was constantly trying to think what Robbie might have done or said! Was he mad at Kasturi? Was he taking his anger out on her?? Or did they fight and go their separate ways?? Finally, unable to take it anymore, she had called Kasturi.
Kasturi and Robbie first ignore the call. Seeing Kasturi not pick the phone up, Gia's concern triples and she keeps calling her, back to back till finally Robbie separates Kasturi and says naughtily......."Apparently, someone wants you more than me!!" 😉 And he winks at a shocked and blushing Kasturi who rushes to her phone. ☺️ Its Gia! She quickly takes the call and Gia screams into the phone..."Kas, tu theek hai na????"
Kasturi tries to be as normal as she can but it is impossible and Gia can hear the excitement in her voice! She gets up from the chair, the excitement spreading to her and ahe says........"Oh my God Kas, did he say it???" 😲 😆 "Yes" whispers Kasturi.
Gia squeals in delight : OMG, OMG Kas!!! I am sooo happy for you!! Details.....details, quick....jaldi details de! 😍
Kasturi says shyly : I am busy right now Gia, let me call you back!!!
Gia draws in a sharp breath and drawls : Girl!!!! You don't waste any time, do you??? 😉 😆
Both of them giggle and Gia says again : Well sweetheart, promise me one thing and I will let you go! I want all details.....I mean every single detail when you call me, got it??? 😃
Kasturi says : Yes! Ab rakhti hun! Bye!!!
And Katuri quickly ends the call. She turns to see Robbie sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall and staring at her non-stop! Suddenly Kasturi feels very concsious and she slowly walks up to him. ☺️When she reaches him, Robbie extends his right hand and Kasturi gives him her left. He slowly pulls her down besides him and Kasturi also sits leaning against the wall. He turns to her and asks......."Gia kaa phone tha?" Kasturi nods her head in the affirmative and Robbie says......."Mujhe Gia ko thanks kehnaa hai!" Kasturi looks at him inquiringly and Robbie says......"Agar aaj woh mujhe Raunak ke baare mei nahi bataati, toh shaayad....shaayad hum iss modh peh itni jaldi nahi pahunchte!!!"
Kasturi tries to think what Gia might have told about Raunak when Robbie continues....."So, what's the plan? Tum Raunak ko bataogi hamaare baare mei yaa mei batau?
Kasturi asks : Raunak koh kuch bhi bataane ki kya zaroorat hai? 🤔
Robbie stares at her and says : Well, then how will you break the engagement plan?
Kasturi asks : Whose engagement??
Robbie turns to her and says : Whose engagement???? Your's and Raunak's! 😲 Gia told me you both were getting engaged.......
He stops in mid-sentence and both Robbie and Kasturi stare at each other for a moment and then both burst out laughing!!!!! 🤣 Gia had played Robbie very well!!! 👏 👏
"Mei uss Gia ki bacchi koh nahi chodunga!!!" vows Robbie smiling! 😃
