Re-cap : Kasturi's whim of being in love with Raunak is shattered by her attraction to Robbie. Robbie is happy that Kasturi inquired about him. Kaushalya is supposed to be coming back from her business trip to Europe. Kasturi buys a beautiful statue for her studio which breaks when she trips over Robbie and they have a tiff again.
PART - 11 : MAKEOVER MAGIC
Kasturi was mad as hell when driving back home!! 😡 She was very upset that her beautiful statue was broken 😭 .....and she had not expected to meet Robbie again and that too so soon!!! Nor was she happy with the meeting....she wished they had met in more pleasant circumstances!! But there was nothing to do now but fret........and so she frets.
"Robbie.........ROBBIE!!" Robbie jerks out of his thoughts when he hears Prof.Sharma calling out to him! "Sorry, tumhe neend mei disturb kiyaa"......jokes Prof.Sharma and all the students laugh 🤣 🤣.
Robbie smiles sheepishly 😳 and says "I am sorry, Sir.....mei kuch soch rahaa that!" And that 'kuch' was the mystery girl! He had been thinking about her since they had bumped into each other in the lift, a week ago! She had looked a little different in a peach colored kurti and jeans from the first time he had seen her at the bus stop. She had looked so attractive and endearing......except, they ended up fighting again! 😡 Her attitude really infuriated him everytime, but somehow looking at her, his anger seemed to melt instantly too! 😛 He does not understand what this contradiction was!! 😳
Prof.Sharma replies : Jo soch rahe ho, usko chodo aur mei jo bol rahaa hun, usspeh dhyaan doh!
He walks across the room and turning to the students says....."Doh mahinon mei aapke finals hai. I hope you all will do them well. Uske baad aap log baahar ki duniyaa mei kadam rakhenge. You will use your skills and education to make a place in the society! And in order to help you in that process, the University invites several leading employers of the market to set up campus interviews for you guys. 😊 Like every year this process will start in 2 weeks. I want you all to attend the special class that Mrs.Ali will be holding for you, to give you an idea on what the process involves and how to go about it!
Immediately a murmur goes up among the students! They are very excited to hear about this!!! 😛
Prof.Sharma continues : That class will be at 3.00 PM. Please make it a point to attend............
Robbie smiles. 😊 He had been waiting for this day...which was going to help him to take over the responsibility of his chacha ji's family......his new family!! When compared to what his uncle has done for him, this was nothing!!! The class ends. At 3.00 PM Robbie and all his classmates attends Mrs.Ali's class. The whole process is explained to them as to how they have to prepare their resumes, what needs to be attached to the application forms, how to apply to the companies etc. (Just for the sakes of this FF, lets assume that Chawla Enterprises, Singhania International and Surti Industries are the TATAs, Reliance Industries and BIRLAs of the world 😆 😆 😆 )
Robbie had already decided that he wanted to join Chawla Enterprises, infact he badly wanted to join them because just recently they had bagged a Government contract to develop remote sensing miniature robots that when installed in an area, would alert of any activity/intrusion within 2 miles radius of that area and also scan the intruders and profile them in a database. This was going to be used by the armed forces of the Country and also by the Government. This was a highly sensitive and prestigious project and 3 companies had been awarded the contract, one of whom was Chawla Enterprises!!! Robbie desperately wanted to be part of this project because it would give him ample opportunity to work in his area of expertise 🤓 and interest............Robotics!!
But Robbie knew, several of his classmates were having the same idea as him, specially Kartik Dixit! 😕 He turns to look at Kartik. Mark-sheets and GPA wise, Kartik had a lead over Robbie of about 4% but Robbie knew that Kartik did not have the communication skills and drive that he possessed and so Robbie confidently tells himself that all he needs is an interview opportunity!! If he gets it, he was going to impress Chawla.E into hiring him 😃 !!! But, if for some reason this does not work out then his next option would be Surti Industries......because, he had no intention of joining Singhania International!
"Waqt aa gayaa hai, Raunak seh baat karne kaa".....thinks Robbie uncomfortably! 😕 After Mrs.Ali's class, Robbie goes searching for Raunak. He finds Raunak walking to the parking lot towards his car. Robbie knows he is not going to relish the conversation he was going to have with Raunak, but he had to do it! He shouts loudly.....'RAUNAK!'. Raunak turns to see Robbie calling him and stops in his track, waiting for Robbie to catch up with him. Once Robbie does, they shake hands and Robbie comes straight to the point
Robbie says hesitantly: Raunak, Meine bahut socha tumhaare offer ke baare mei. I am sorry.....I cannot do it! 😕
Raunak is very disappointed and he expresses it
Raunak : Oh man, Robbie! I was really hoping you would consider it and join us!!
Robbie is apologetic : I am sorry Raunak! I really am....but I cannot do it!! 😕
Raunak asks : What is it? Is it the pay, the terms.....
Robbie cuts him : No, No, Raunak, not at all!!! Please don't misunderstand me! The offer you gave me is to die for! And besides you know me.......mei paison koh zyaada ehmiyat nahi detaa! Its a dream come true for anyone to start off their career with a prestigious company like Singhania International! 😊
Raunak : Phir kya baat hai?
Robbie : Mei abhi out of country nahi jaa sakta! Mere kuch personal reasons hai jiski wajah seh mei apni family ko chodh ke Singapore nahi jaa sakta! (Sorry Paddu 😆 😆 )
Robbie is uncomfortable discussing his family. But Raunak seemed to want more details. Robbie shifts his weight from one leg to the other and offers more by the way of explanation..
Robbie : Trust me, I am very greatful for your offer!! Tumne mujhe ek excellent opportunity dee hai, considering that I am a novice. Agar yeh offer India mei hotaa, toh mei jhat seh accept kar letaa!! But I cannot go out of the country at this point!! I hope you understand!
Raunak realizes that Robbie is genuinely sorry and is not faking anything. He wished he could offer Robbie something in India itself but currently they had no openings in India that he thought would interest Robbie! He hears Robbie say
Robbie : I hope I did not offend you....and hopefully I have not closed out any windows of opportunity for the future!! 😊
Raunak smiles at Robbie. This is why he liked Robbie. Robbie could be honest, firm, apologetic as well as tactful at the same time and be sincere with each of those emotions!!! He tells Robbie
Raunak : I know your worth Robbie. Having you working for my companies is an opportunity I will never miss. Anytime you reconsider just give me a buzz, I will definitely whip something up for you! 😊
Robbie is touched. He extends his hand towards Raunak warmly and shaking it says
Robbie : Thanks, buddy! 😃
Raunak continues to hold his hand and says
Raunak : Lekin ab jo mei tumseh kehne jaa rahaa hun, uske liye naa nahi sununga! 😛
Robbie looks at him inquiringly.
Raunak says : I am having a birthday bash in 3 weeks.....it will be just my close friends. Mei chahta hun tum zaroor aao!
Robbie is not too keen but he feels he cannot refuse Raunak two things in a row and so accepts his invitation and they go their separate ways. Robbie checks his watch, he still could make it for the last 15 minutes of the match if he tried hard. Today was Divya's semi final. It was her first semi-final match in a big tourney and he had wanted to be there to support her. 😊 He had been going to all her Delhi tourney matches including the quarter final. She was playing excellently and he was proud of that!! Unfortunately today's semi-final was scheduled in such a way that it was in conflict with an important class of his which he could not miss......and so he was not able to attend the match. But now, he still had a little time and so he quickly makes it to the match location. Once he reaches there, he is shocked and concerned to see that Divya was loosing the match! He could see that Divya was trying desperately to recover, but she cannot and her opponent Jennifer D'Souza takes the last set and makes it to the final!! A distraught 😔 Divya shakes Jennifer's hand and walks away to her dressing room. Robbie quickly scans the crowd for Alaana and Shivani who were supposed to come to the match! He sees them walking quickly towards the womens locker room area. He follows them and loiters outside. 😕 After half an hour all 3 girls come out and see their brother waiting for them! 😳 Divya who has been strong till now breaks down when she sees her brother and rushes to him bawling...."Bhaiyya!!!" 😭 😭 😭 Shivani and Alaana slowly walk up behind her. Robbie holds her in his arms and lets her cry her heart out. 😭 😭
At 23 and a 1/2 he had come to realize and understand that life was filled with failures and successes, living was interpersed with ups and downs!!! But at 16, Divya was still unprepared for life's extreme situations and his heart went out for her!! He pats her back and says
Robbie : Shhh, shhhh chutki, bas....bas ab aur ronaa nahi. Apne aansoo ponch le.
And he caresses her hair and tries to calm her down. Seeing her sister broken like that, Shivan's eyes also fill up with tears 😭. Seeing her start to break down, Robbie quickly extends his left hand towards Shivani and pulls her into his embrace too. Shivani hugs him from the side and starts to cry too. 😭 Robbie quickly signals Alaana to call a cab/taxi. Alaana calls one and they get into the taxi. Alaana sits upfront with the driver while Shivani and Divya sit in the back with Robbie inbetween them. Robbie consoles Divya and asks her to learn from failures. He praises her advantage points and reminds her that Jennifer was almost 4 years her senior and was defending the title and was an excellent player. He draws her attention to the fact that this was her first major tourney and she had still made it to the semi-finals! He teaches her to always be a confident winner and never to be a bitter looser!!!
Slowly with his help, Divya bounces back and within a week she is back to being her old self. 👍🏼 And within that week Robbie prepares his resume and submits it along with his marks sheets and professor reviews, to all the companies. He is really hoping for that interview call from Chawla.E. The ensuing week he leaves along with his hockey team to Bangalore. DU wins the semifinal and they make it to the finals! 👏 👏
The Saturay after he comes back from Bangalore is Raunak's birthday bash. That evening Robbie gets ready for the party. He wears a white baggy shirt that is tucked into his jeans with a leather belt and is making him look very hot and handsome!! 😳 With a hair-cut and a fresh shave, he is ready to do some serious damage!! 😉 😆
Robbie reaches the club at around 8 PM. As soon as he walks in Raunak sees him.
"Hey Robbie"......calls out Raunak and walks towards Robbie. Robbie is about to extend his hand out when he is taken by surprise to see that Raunak hugs him 🤗 Robbie is uncomfortable and does not respond back. Then Raunak grabs his hand and shaking it says warmly
Raunak : I am so glad you could make it!! 😃
Robbie smiles in reply 😊 and extends something towards Raunak and says
Robbie : Happy Birthday, Raunak! I am sure you will like this! 😛
Raunak takes the book Robbie is holding towards him. As soon as he reads the title, Raunak's eyes widen with shock and surprise. 😲 😛 It is one of the first editions of "The Grand Rebel" by Dennis Kincaid, which was out of printing now!!!!! He bursts into a wide smile 😃 and his eyes reveal how excited he was to hold that book in his hands!!!! Raunak collected antiquated and primary edition books. It was a hobby he followed passionately and Robbie was aware of it. He bursts out
Raunak : This is the best gift EVER!!!!!!! Thanks a lot, Robbie!!! 😃
And he once again hugs Robbie!! Robbie is glad that he liked it so much! Ajay is sitting at one end of the bar area and observing this exchange. He sees Raunak grab Robbie's hand and take him around and introduce to some of his friends who were not part of their University circle. Raunak and Robbie approach the other end of the bar area that is away from Ajay. A girl and a guy are sitting at the bar, turned away from them. Raunak says to Robbie
Raunak : I want you to meet a very special friend of mine!
He leads Robbie to the couple and taps on the girl's shoulder. She swivels around on her barstool towards them and Robbie stares into the eyes of the mystery girl. His jaw drops and Kasturi's eyes widen with surprise!! 😲 She involuntatily exclaims......"AAP???" Raunak looks at both of them surprised and asks....."Aap donon ek doosre ko jaante ho?"
Robbie tries to recover from the shock 😲 and says....."Nahi. Bas inke high-heels ka mere pairon ke saath parichay hua hai!!" 😆 😆 😆 .....and he winks at Kasturi 😉. He sees Kasturi's face harden and he breaks into a smile 😃 and says to a confused Raunak...."No, we have not met formally!"
Raunak replies : Allow me the honor then.....this is Kasturi......Kasturi Chawla,.........apne Ajay ki behen.
Robbie raises his eyebrows showing how surprised he was to know this! Kasturi extends her right hand and Robbie takes it with his right when Raunak is telling Kasturi......."and this is Robbie, actually Ranbir Sabharwal."
Kasturi does not let on that she already knows his name and he does not let on that he knows that she knows his name 😉 😆 😆. They both shake hands lightly. Her hands were incredibly soft and tender to touch. They hold hands just for that one second longer and then Kasturi withdraws her hand.
Robbie says : Aapka naam bahut sundar hai! 😊
"Thank you" says Kasturi with an attitude filled look that says "It has to be beautiful, it belongs to me!" and continues....."Waise aapko kis naam seh pukaara jaaye, Robbie ya Ranbir?" Robbie does not miss that look and so he gives it back to her with a
Robbie : Waise log mujhe pyaar seh Robbie kehte hai, lekin aap mujhe Ranbir kahiye! 😉
He sees her face harden again and he laughs out 😆 😆 saying...."Just kidding, please call me Robbie!!!" 😃
Raunak leads Robbie away from Kasturi to meet someone else and Kasturi allows herself to breath!!! She had almost dropped the beer she was holding when she had turned around to stare into his eyes!!! 😲 😲 😲 Her eyes follow him.....not only is she shocked to see him so unexpectedly but is also taken aback by how handsome he looked!! 😳 😳 😳 She had been busy fighting with him all along and had never noticed him in leisure, which is what she was doing now!!!! 😳
Raunak gets a couple of beers for both of them and they settle to sit down at the bar, a little further away from Kasturi and her friend. Just then Raunak gets called away and Robbie is alone for a few minutes. He tries hard not to, but his eyes get drawn to her 😳 ....and Kasturi who was looking at him, manages to look away from him right at that instance so that he does not catch her staring at him!!! 😳
'Shock' is a word that just does not do justice to what Robbie was feeling!!! She was dressed in a plain black, sleeveless silk dress that reached till her knees. It fit her figure perfectly and accentuated every part of her body!! Her hair was open. In her ears she was wearing big red hoops that looked perfect on her and a long red beads chain was hanging from her neck. And she was wearing red, high-heeled leather zipper boots that extended up till her knees. She was sitting on the barstool........carefree, one leg over the other and was drinking a chilled beer. She was unbelievably sensous and Robbie forgets to breath for a couple of minutes!!!
He sees her turning towards his direction and he quickly looks away and finds himself staring into Ajay!!!
