52. So what is pongal all about? What kind of things do u do on that day? I never heard of it thats why..😛

Pongal is a festival which only south indian's celebrates..especially people from tamil nadu and andhra pradesh..it's a three days festival..it comes every year on january 14th..evry year i go to my grandparents place to celebrate.it's a village in AP..the pongal is more beautiful in villages..because that is time all the crop comes to hand to farmers..on the first day it is called BHOGI..we have to wake up early in the morning to burn all the unwanted things..this is just like all northies do for diwaali..after that we have bhogi snan [head bath after applying gee to the hair..usally my granny insists to apply gee]after that we prapare DOSAS with chicken curry..and second day it 's main festival we call it as SANKRANTHI or PONGAL ..to day no non-veg nothing..we have to wash the dishes very clean ..must not be use all those utensile which use to prepare no-veg...we prepare pongal on this day [this is a preparation with rice ,jagerry ,milk, gee and whole lot of dry fruits very yummy ]..we perform pooja..3rd day we call it as KANUMA..this is the day for servents who handles the cows and other works..this is not much important..that's it i hope u don't bored
