Part 19

IN DELHI AS KASTURI ENTERS SHALINI'S APARTMENT

*Shalini opens the door and kasturi and her step in*

Shalini: MA! Hum agaya hain (to kasturi) ma ko sunaa ki kami hai

S's mom: likyan yeh tho mujhe sun gaya … (to kas) KASTURI! Beta kaisi hai tu?

Kasturi: *goes over to shalini's mom and gives her a hug and touches her feet*

Mom: jeeti ra putthar *puts her hand on kasturi's head and picks her up by the shoulders and looks at her face* bari khubsurat hai

Kasturi: *smiles*

Shalini: haan ma isa compliment kari jaana likyan hum sa kabhi nahin karthi

Mom: *laughs* tum tho mujhe roz milthi ho

Shalini: Okay okay, chalo kasturi main tume tumara kamara dikha thi hun

Kasturi: likyan settle hona sa pehle mujhe kuch kam karna tha

Mom: woh kya putthar?

Kasturi: actually agar shalini tum mujhe mandir la jao tho mujhe bohoth acha laga ga

Shalini: mandir?! Kyun?

Mom: aara shalini, jab koi bhagwan ka ghar jaana chatha hai tho usa maina nahin kartha

Kasturi: actually shalu main woh gharwalon ki raksha ka liya thua mang ni thi

Mom: vah…isa katha hai saanskar…shalu kuch seek!

Shalini: yea whatever mom…okay kasturi tum change kar lo aur phir main tume mandir la jathi hun

*Kasturi nods and goes into her room, shalini rolls her eyes at her mother who puts up her hand as to jokingly going to slap her*

AT THE MANDIR

*Shalini parks the car near the mandir and kasturi and her get out of the car, they go up the stairs at the mandir and begin to pray, kasturi prays with her eyes closed and just then nobody else but Raunak comes up the stairs and goes to the mandir and begins to pray too*

Raunak: *to himself in thought* bhagwan aaj papa itni bari deal confirm karna ja raha hai, unka sath raana bhagwan *raunak opens his eyes and turns around and is about to go down the stairs when he notices kasturi praying, at first he wonders if he is not mistaken, but he moves closer and sees it is kasturi and he touches her shoulder* kasturi??

Kasturi: *opens her eyes from praying and turns around to see raunak, her eyes widen and she opens her mouth and closes it, she looks around for shalini but she isn't beside her anymore and she opens her mouth once again* aap? Yahein???

Raunak: haan main, kyun? Itni shock main kyun ho?? Main delhi main ratha hun you know *winks*

Kasturi: *looks slightly embarrassed* yea woh bus aapko expect nahin kiya tha

Raunak: well, likyan tum yahein kya kar rahi ho, delhi main I mean

Kasturi: woh meri best friend yahein rathi hai, uska sath kuch dino ka liya ra rahi hun

Raunak: acha? Yeh buri bath hai ms.kasturi ji

Kasturi: kya???

Raunak: aap yahein delhi aa rahi thi, aur apna huma kuch nahin bathaya…kyun?

Kasturi: *looks at the ground* woh bus time hi nahin mila…

Raunak: acha choro yeh bathein

*Just then Shalini comes back up beside kasturi*

Shalini: sorry kasturi, woh main ma ka liye prashad laana gayi thi-

*Kasturi turns around to see Shalini holding a tray in her hand and looking confused*

Raunak: (to shalini) hi! main hun raunak singhania, actually main kasturi ka dost hun

Shalini: *looks at kasturi and raises her eyebrows, she has heard all about raunak, and she can see how uncomftable kasturi is* ji hi, im shalini par saab mujhe pyar sa shalu bulatha hain…actually kasturi main soch rahi thi aab hum chalein

Kasturi: hain shalu, chalo

Raunak: wait wait *goes close to kasturi* aap itni door sa aayi hain ek bar tho aapko humara paarivar sa milna hi hoga…nandini mom, devika aunty, purushotam uncle, aur dad ko kitna khushi ho gi tumse mil kar…aur hain Robbie bi

Kasturi: *turns around*

Shalini: *sees that the mention of Robbie makes kasturi upset*

Kasturi: raunak aaj nahin likyan phir kabhi saab ko mil lun gi

Raunak: come on kasturi, dekho aaj saab ghar par hain, aur dad bi deal close kar ghar ponch na wala hon ga, aur baaki din saab apne apne kam main busy hotha hain…come on kasturi…please

Kasturi: *looks at shalini who shrugs her shoulders, and then back to raunak* likyan raunak maina tho aabi unpack bi nahin kiya…please phir kabhi

Raunak: come on kasturi, nahin tume aaj hi aana para ga

Kasturi: please raunak main vada karthi hun main phir kabhi tumara ghar visit karun gi

Raunak: fine fine…aab main tume uta kar tho nahin la jaa saktha

Kasturi: *smiles* acha phir mil tha hain

*Raunak and kasturi and shalini walk down the stairs of the mandir and are about to part ways when someone yells raunak's name and they all turn around to see purushotam walking towards them*

Purushotam: nandini bhabi na bathaya ka tum mandir gaya ho…I have good news my son, durshant ko woh deal mil gaayi!

Raunak: that's great news uncle! Tumne Robbie ko bathaya

Puru: hain…aara kasturi beta tum! Tum yahein?!

Kasturi: ji woh main meri friend shalini ka sath *pulls shalini towards her* delhi kuch dino ka liye aayi hun

Puru: that's great beta…aab tum bi humari khushian main shamil ho sakthi ho

Kasturi: *confused* kya matlab uncle??

Puru: aaj sham ko hum saab na is deal milna ki khushi main party raaki hai…aur tum yahein ho tho putthar tume tho zaroor aana para ga…aur apni friend ko bi sath lekha aana

Kasturi: *looks at shalini in shock, shalini just gulps, but being the good girl she is she knew her dad would want her to attend* ji uncle

Puru: okay great! Likyan main ghar main kisi ko nahin katha ka tum aa rahi ho, saab ko ek surprise tha gaan…kyun na raunak??

Raunak: ji uncle

Shalini: acha uncle aaj sham ko miltha hain, aab ma ghar main mera aur kasturi ka wait kar rahi ho gi

Puru: okay beta

*Everyone walks away and says goodbye, as he leaves raunak turns around to look at kasturi and smiles to himself*

BACK AT SHALU'S APARTMENT

Kasturi: likyan shalu, aab main yeh party avoid kaisa kar sakthi hun…uncle mujhe expect kar raha hain

Shalini: I know, likyan kasturi agar hum sirf 2-3 hours wahan raa tho uncle ko acha laga ga *goes up to kasturi and puts her arms around her shoulders* its okay kasturi, main hun tumara sath

Kasturi: *nods* acha tho main party ka liya kuch paan kar athi hun

Shalini: kasturi wait! *pauses for a second* kasturi aaj meri ek bath maano gi?

Kasturi: kya shalu?

Shalini: aaj woh Robbie sabharwal ko dikhana hai ka what hes lost…yahein aao

*Kasturi goes up to shalini, shalini opens her closet and then pulls out a suit. It is a sleeveless suit with beautiful designs on the shirt and the salwar is beautifully designed too*

Shalini: tum yahi paan na

*Kasturi takes the suit and examines it*

Kasturi: shalu, yeh kaafi tight ho ga…aur sleeveless

Shalini: oh come on yehi tho style hai…tum smashing lago gi

Kasturi: likyan shalu, main is main comftable nahin hun gi, aur Robbie ko dikhana ka liya mujhe yeh saab nahin karna chahiya…main jaisi hun vaisi hi achi hun

Shalini: oh come on kasturi…please! Please!

*Kasturi is about to walk out of the room when shalini falls on her knees and puts her hands together*

Shalini: please please please!

Kasturi: shalini yeh tum kya kar rahi ho??

Shalini: please please!

Kasturi: shalini yell math karo tumara neighbours kya socha gaan

Shalini: PLEASE! PLEASE!

Kasturi: okay okay, shalini okay!

Shalini: YESSSSSSSSSS!

*Shalini hands the suit to katsuri and kasturi goes to change*

LATER THAT EVENING

Shalini: kasturi! Tum ready ho!

*Shalini is yelling from the door and kasturi walks in, she is wearing the blue suit which hugs her figure and gives her petite frame a very nice look, she is wearing a matching blue dupatta with matching bindi and chooriyan and matching blue eye shadow…she looks stunning! Oh and her hair is curled on the ends*

Shalini: WOW Yaar! Tum tho ek dum aishwaryia rai dikh thi ho

Kasturi: acha acha jhoot bolna chor…chalein

Shalini: only if your completely ready

Kasturi: *takes a deep breath* chalo, the faster we get this over with, the better

*Shalini nods and they both walk out*

AT THE PARTY

*The party is rocking, devika is talking to business associates as puru shares a drink with durshant, raunak keeps walking back and forth waiting for kasturi, Alana and areev and vikas are talking with each other, while Robbie is in his room sitting on his bed with his tie in his hands…just then nandini walks in*

Nandini: Robbie, tum yahein, thayar nahin hua???

Robbie: hain woh main bus yeh tie…

Nandini: lo main baan thathi hun *goes over to Robbie and ties his tie on him* aab chalein??

Robbie: *doesn't really feel like partying* chalo…

*They both leave downstairs, Raunak sees Robbie walking down the stairs and goes to meet him, nandini is called over by durshant and she excuses herself*

Raunak: kitni rocking party hain na Robbie…look at all the pretty girls

Robbie: *puts his hands in his pocket* yeh raunak…

Raunak: eh? Tumse kya hua??

Robbie: kuch nahin, sar main kuch dharth hai

Raunak: acha, acha, Robbie first time has an excuse not to attend a party…vah pehli bar

Robbie: shut up raunak…acha main drink lana chala…you want one

Raunak: no man…likyan thanks

*Robbie turns around and is about to walk off when raunak yells*

Raunak: KASTURI!

*Robbie instantly turns around and sees kasturi and shalini walk into the door, she is absolutely stunning, and for a moment he imagines only him and her in the room, imagines asking her to dance and and she twirls in his arms her curls bouncing all around, but suddenly he snaps back to reality, and is in shock, wondering did navneet tell her everything???!!!*

*Kasturi turns around to see raunak walking up to them, but she cannot see Robbie because he has already left to get a drink*

Raunak: hey kasturi…vah ur looking amazing!

*Shalini coughs*

Raunak: aap bi ms.shalini

Shalini: thanks *nudges kasturi*

Kasturi: yea thanks raunak

Raunak: chalo saab ghar ka lokon sa milwa tha hun

*He takes her to everyone who gives her a big hug and nandini gives her a huge kiss on the forehead, everyone says she looks amazing*

Durshant: kasturi, kuch peena ko, kana ko lekha aa jao, wahan table hai, raunak show them please

Raunak yeh dad, shalini kasturi chalo

*Raunak leads them half way to the table when someone calls his name and he excuses himself for a minute and tells them where they can get snacks and drinks, they both go on without him, they drink some soft drinks and stand around in the corner*

Kasturi: shalu, mujhe bohoth garmi lag rahi hai…I need some fresh air

Shalini: okay you go outside, mujhe tho bhook lagi hai, ill get something to eat and join you there

*Kasturi nods her head and leaves the party quietly and goes stands outside, she looks at the stars and thinks about home, and wonders how everyone is, she thanks God she hasn't seen Robbie, and then suddenly it get more windy and she tries to hold down her dupatta, she sees her sandal strap is untied and goes down to buckle it when her dupatta flies off! She gets up and sees it has landed on someone's face and she opens her mouth to say something but, she sees this person doesn't seem to mind and just holds it on his face, she walks up to him and says…*

Kasturi: sorry woh hawa ki vaja sa mera dupatta- *takes dupatta off his face and he turns around and it is none other than our own ROBBIE!*

Kasturi: TUM?!

Robbie: hain main…why are you so schocked?

Kasturi: *is about to walk away*

Robbie: taro! taro! *runs up to her*

Kasturi: kya chahiya apko? mujhe apse koi bath nahin karni...actually i dont wanna see your face

Robbie: itni nafarat hai mujhse? itni?

Kasturi: aur kyun nahin ho gi? *walks away*

*Robbie runs up and grabs her hand and turns he around, kasturi tries to loosen her grip*

Kasturi: LET GO OF ME! CHORIYA MUJHE!

Robbie: please kasturi...meri bath suno

Kasturi: kya ka tum hi raunak tha!!!!!!

END ON ROBBIES SHOCKED FACE AS HE LETS GO OF HER HAND
