Why kzk2 is failed to impress audience DT NT Pg 7 - Page 6

The so-called failure of KZK2 happened when EK tried to put her leg in 2 boats which where going in opposite directions. We have enough proofs from EK and the actors themselves which hints that EK had no plan to run the show for years like it's predecessor. So, in her effort to compress a 6.5yr story into 2-3yrs, she decided to compromise on the story and instead decided to rely on the fame of the iconics and actors. She wasn't confident in herself and her team's capabilities to give a good story. So, decided to play ping-pong game with the audience by mocking divine power and captioning it as 'Boy vs Man' charm. Result is, EK never got her peace & happiness back w.r.to the show, after that. And today the whole fandom is happy with the news of KZK2 going offair. Probably the first experience in EK's entire ITV journey.

Lol, thori maths bhi lagaao. The show's business has been lackluster and the monetary gains to both channel and PH are minimal and average compared to the gigantic investment and time poured into the show! Plus Ekta had the slot until December. So the 'show ran for 2 years' is no badge of honor here. Can't be used as a quantifying measure for success in this show's case. Interestingly too, if you compare the entirety of KZK's run to Shakti that has been running for WAAAY LONGER, over a period of 100+ weeks, Shakti led the slot for the better half of the two years.

Baaki Ekta hyped the show where she did have full control and in her own domain and that was the internet, her own circle, and with TV bigwigs. Plus being part of KZK's remake/Balaji comes with a ton of great byproducts. Success, fame, more recognition and better money are some of it.

Having said that, some actors still held their fort and made a mark. Some didn't. That's how it always works.

Kzk is a flop show which gave benefits to some people and their own fandom.

Considering the money and PR hype that Ekta invested in the show, the returns were low. Can you imagine putting up statues in different cities, using an A-lister Bollywood actor in first promo and still not ending up at the top during launch? For most part, this show’s ratings have just been average. All this so called hype is due to massive PR campaigns by Ekta in these two years. I doubt is she has ever invested so much in the promotion of any show. Lol this show won some awards in SPA within a month of launching. Can you believe it?! Like really?! 😆 I just feel that this show became Ek’s obsession and her ego didn’t let her see the reality that this show has only been a moderate success.*edited by DT* And what’s with the online hyping? All that just depends on online popularity of actors. That is where Ek scored by choosing actors who were already popular with online peeps and with the right combination of her PR tricks, she projected the show as if it is a blockbuster which is an over exaggeration.

This is not to say that the show has flopped. Just that given the undue importance the channel gave to this show, the returns were never enough. I so remember a time when somehow the show had the most number of repeats and promos on the channel when it was only in 3rd position. Only Ek can tell us how that happened. 😆 That too with a channel like StarPlus which sometimes doesn’t even give 1 repeat to shows which are really performing without promotion.
So yeah, the show ran for two years because of Ekta. Otherwise, considering the investment, the returns would have made it economically unviable to run the show this long. (Not claiming to have inside knowledge of the finances of Balaji. But considering that BTL has been seeing losses for 1-2 years now, we can make a guess)

The statue n initial exp for promotion was only cost incurred them. Other than that, no excess cost. Set exp is shared with other shows n media promotion is bcoz of leads. All portal loved to post abt leads bcoz they get views. Makers had hardly spent on promotion. And our leads were always in the news and makers don't hv to spend at all..

And avg show why even channel telecast 3 times😆.

And I was going thru balaji financials. They made good revenue almost 20% increase compare to previous year. To bring it to same losses as previous year they increased amortization and writing off of old assets. Though, they hv not disclosed show wise performance, overall performed well. My interesting topic was key management compensation. But they put zero there for both shoba n ekta.. After that I don't wanted do to further analysis . Good window dressing😆
