CHAPTER4
In London (Rishabh)
Kukki was literally making Tanvi run a marathon. She has already rejected 25 outfits. Now she is running around the whole house to find a perfect dress to go for lunch with her father followed by her Tanvi Bua(now Kukki calls Tanvi as Bua). Rishabh got ready and went to Kukki’s room to check on her. But seeing her room, his eyes nearly popped out of the sockets. It seemed as if cyclones, typhoons, hurricanes etc has struck there altogether. The entire room was filled with Kukki’s dresses. The bed, the couch, the chairs everything was filled with Her dresses.
But where is the girl who did all this? Right on the queue Kukki came there running followed by Tanvi who was heavily panting. Seeing her father Kukki hugged him. Rishabh too hugged her back and nodded at Tanvi indicating her to go and get ready herself.
Kukki: “Papa, I have nothing to wear. What will I do?”
Rishabh: “Well I guess I do have a solution for that. You go inside the room and wait for me. I will go and come back right now.”
Kukki nodded happily and went inside her room and waited for her father eagerly. After sometime he came back with a packet. In that packet a beautiful bottle green lehenga was there. Kukki felt happy seeing the dress. She kissed him on his cheek and left to change. Rishabh felt happy seeing her smiling face.
In the meantime, he quickly re-arranged her room and kept her dresses at the proper places. By the time he was done, Kukki also came out looking like a princess. Kukki came down the stairs with Rishabh who was looking no less than a Greek God in his black three-piece suit and met with Sharda and Tanvi. Sharda was wearing a blue sari and Tanvi was looking pretty in her purple lehenga. They went to an ice-cream parlor first. Then Rishabh along with Kukki went to a children’s park whereas Tanvi and Sharda went for a shopping.During lunch time they again met and had a family lunch. Rishabh was in all smile seeing his family so happy. The thought of Prerna didn’t even came to his mind. Then they went to an ice-cream parlor and then finally they came back home exhausted.
Rishabh made Kukki sleep though it was just 7 in the evening because she was completely drained. Then he got changed and was about to go to his study when his phone rang. It was from Mr. Mehra.
Mr. Mehra: “Good evening sir. Sorry to disturb you at this time.”
Rishabh: “It’s ok Mehra. I know there must be something important, that is why you are calling me now. Tell me.”
Mr. Mehra: “Sir the Agarwals have given us a business offer which is beneficial for the company but….”
Rishabh: “AGARWALS!!!! Why are they willing to help us when they tried to take over our company for last 6 months. Did they say anything else?”
Mr. Mehra: “Yes sir. They told that if you want to get that then you have to meet them in Malaysia. They will make all the arrangements for your arrival. But you have to go alone.”
Rishabh: “What!!!!!! Are they crazy? Why will I go alone?”
Mr. Mehra: “Exactly sir. There is something fishy.You should reject this offer I guess.”
Rishabh: “No Mehra. I will not reject this offer. Indeed to know their plan I will go. Now listen to me carefully”
Mr. Mehra: “Ok sir”
Both of them talk for next 15 minutes with great attention.
Rishabh: “Did you get what I told you Mehra?”
Mr. Mehra: “Yes sir. That is a great full proof plan. They can’t even think of it.”
Rishabh: “Ok start the plan from tomorrow”
Mr. Mehra: “As you wish Sir. Good night”
Rishabh:“Night Mehra”
Rishabh smirked and went to sleep with Kukki.
In Sharma Niwas (PRERNA)
Prerna stood outside Sharma Niwas. She remembered the last time she came here, was with Mr. Bajaj. She felt a strange pain in her heart whenever she thought of him. Taking a deep breath she knocked on the door. Veena opened the door and was shocked to see Prerna as she thought that Prerna will be staying in Basu Bari as Anurag has come back. She did not know about Sonalika and Anurag’s marriage with her. She asked Prerna to come inside. Suman, Shekar, Mahesh and Shivani was also were equally shocked to see her as she did not inform anyone and moreover, she came with her bags.
Shivani:“Di, are you ok? Why have you come with your bag and where is Anurag?”
Prerna:“Anurag is with his wife in Basu Bari and I have come here because this is my house also.”
Everyone gasped listening to her words.
Shivani:“What are you saying? Anurag’s wife!”
Prerna:“Yes his wife, Sonalika. He married her one week back came back with her two days back.”
Suman:“But you both were supposed to get married. Then how can he marry someone else.”
Prerna:“he lost his memory in an accident and Sonalika saved his life. Then he fell in love with her and they got married.”
Everyone stood with their jaws dropped and then slowly the information went into their head.
Shivani:“What are you saying di? There are some mis understanding, I guess. Anurag loves you.”
Prerna:“No Shivi. There is no mis understanding. Please I am tired and I don’t want to fight with you.”
Saying this Prerna went to her room and started re-arranging her room. She did everything mechanically and after completing it she went to her balcony and stood there for sometime and then decided to go to the orphanage as she feels in peace with herself when she goes there.
In the orphanage as she expected she found the kids running around. She did some painting and then some gardening with the kids. She spent her entire day there.By this time, she reached home, it was almost evening. She went straight to her room and gazed at the stars from her room’s balcony. Suddenly her thoughts went back to the night when her husband, no ex-husband saved her life from a moving car. She was in the arms of her handsome husband. Yes, he was handsome.
“Why am I remembering about him all of a sudden? It felt different to be in his arms as if I have all the power in my hands, as if I am indestructible. It felt strangely good to be in his arms. But WHY?????? I never felt like this when I was in Anurag’s arms”
She was forced to come out of her trance by Shivani’s gasp. She turned around to only to find a shocked Shivani.
Prerna:“What happened Shivi? Are you ok?”
Shivani:“What is this? Just look around you. What is this, Di”
Prern alooked around her room and her jaw literally dropped on the floor. The room was re-arranged as per Mr. Bajaj’s wish. Even in her walls there are only Kukki’s and her picture. On the bedside table there was a group picture of Mr. Bajaj,Kukki and Prerna herself. Strangely it felt perfect for Prerna.
Shivani:“Di what have you done?”
Prerna:“Something that I should have done. Re-arranged my room.”
Shivani:“But according to Mr. Bajaj’s choice. Why??”
Prerna:“Because I prefer it that way. Do you have any problems?”
Shivani:“Obviously, I do. Why do you prefer it in the way of a person who destroyed your life?”
Prerna:“Stop it, Shivi. Why are you always blaming him for everything? DON’T FORGET THAT HE IS THE FATHER OF MY DAUGHTER”
Shivani:“What are you saying di? Wow! So, changes in one day?”
Prerna:“Shivi, please. GOOD NIGHT”
After Shivani leaves the room, Prerna held the picture of three of them together,closer to her heart and slept with a smile on her face.
