Chapter 8-

' Rishabh...' Prerna yelled at the top of her voice.

' What happened now?' he asked himself, before dashing in to the room.

As soon as he entered the room, he was puzzled to see the whole room literally upside down.

' What happened to this room? Did a cyclone come here?' he asked sarcastically.

' Hurricane, thunderstorm, cyclone, tsunami, earthquake etc etc ... Everything came here!' she retorted back.

' Huh? Why are all the clothes from the cupboard on the floor? And your makeup? Who emptied the contents of the talc on the floor? Had Kukki been playing here?'

' Kukki nahi, Kukki ki maa! Maine Kiya Yeh sab!!!'

' Kyun? Anything wrong?'

' I can't decide what to wear! Lunch pe Jaa Rahe hain hum par... I can't decide what to wear! '

' Iss me sochne wali kya baat hai? Just pick a random dress of your choice and wear it!'

' You know nothing about fashion!'

' Oh hello, are you taunting my taste?'

' You didn't realise it? That I was taunting? Kab se aapka dimaag tortoise Ki tarah chal rha hai?'

' Okay I got it! Now please keep your mouth shut!' he said and thought for a minute and picked a yellow suit. He continued,' Here, take this. This will suit you.'

' Thank you! You have an excellent choice!'

He flashed one of his rare smiles. Her action the very next moment surprised him.

She placed a quick kiss on his cheek, took the dress from his hand and dashed into the washroom.

Poor Rishabh, he was stuck in his spot. His eyes got bigger and as round as saucers.

He was broken out of his trance by Kukki's voice,' Papa, I am ready!'

' Papa...'

' Yes?'

' What were you blabbering a while ago?'

' Nothing, Baccha.'

' Papa bhi Ajeeb ho Haye hain Mumma ki tarah.' concluded Kukki and sighed.

They drove off to the restaurant.

' Rishabh, in which restaurant are we going?'

' Ummm...That's a surprise!' said Rishabh, while driving the car.

' Please say na...'

' Mumma, Papa told na it's a surprise. And surprise won't be a surprise if he tells us.'

' Accha Bacchu. Ab toh Papa ki bohot side le Rahi ho. Mumma se Papa zyada pasand ab?' Prerna narrowed her eyes.

Rishabh chuckled at her antics.

' Aur aap? What happened? Driving pe concentrate kariye aur jaldi chaliye. I am feeling hungry!' she scolded him.

' I can't drive fast on the roads of Kolkata, Prerna! Plus I am thinking of the safety of you three.'

' Aap hain na, no one or nothing can harm us.'

' My Papa is the strongest.' said Kukki, from the backseat.

' Here, we have arrived. AHELI- The best place in whole of Kolkata for Bengali food!'

' Miss Bose, what is your next move?'

' You know that, Chaubey. Just wait for the green signal from him.'

' I can't rely much on that Prosenjit Basu, Miss Menka. I don't have trust on any of the Basus.'

' Prosenjit has taken the bait. He is more stubborn than Moloy Basu. Just wait and watch. The game has just begun.' Menka smirked, making Ronit believe that what he heard about her is true. Cunning, indeed! No wonder she was once the life partner of the business shark Rishabh Bajaj and a shareholder in his company.

' What would you like to eat, Prerna?'

' Umm... Can I have a minute or two?It will take time to decide.'

' No spicy food, Remember!' said Rishabh.

' Hawwwww.' Prerna pouted.

' And what about you Kukki?' Rishabh asked his daughter, paying no heed to his wife.

' Papa, this one...'

' Rishabh, I would like to have this!'

' What? So many dishes! How...'

He wondered, is there a Black hole in her tummy or Baby increased her appetite?

' These are not many, Rishabh. Only aloo posto, prawn, shukto......'

' How will you eat this all?'

' I will take just a bite only. Please?'

' But these are...'

'Please....'

Rishabh finally gave in.

' Papa, aap Mumma se darte ho na? And you can't deny her anything.' asked Kukki.

' Who said that?' Rishabh asked.

' Aap Ko toh dekh ke Aisa hi lagta hai.'

Rishabh was speechless. He didn't knew what to say. He smiled slightly and saw his wife and daughter happily enjoying their lunch. He sighed. He always wanted this. A family of his own . A family full of happiness and it's own joys and sorrows. But when it dawned upon him that someday or the other Prerna would regain her memory and would leave him, he became sad and insecure. He cursed himself. He was made only to lose the one he loved.

' Rishabh, ice cream...' Prerna asked.

' What I've cream do you want?'

' What about kulfi? It has been days i had those!'

Okay, as you wish.

After spending quality time together, the Bajaj family went home, without realising that they were under survelliance.

Sorry for short chapter and being so late. My assignments and online classes have taken up the time. I promise to post the next update soon!
