Great post hope.She is human-Yes. Thankfully she doesn’t give dhoom tanana bhashans and go about slapping people in the name of women empowerment. But I have mixed opinions about her being relatable and progressive . She was not relatable when she decided to marry an old creepy guy for a house.I started warming up to her only post that track and a lot of times I connected with her and her pain but not entirely

The most and the only progressive thing they have shown in s2 is the FL getting out of a forced marriage and not looking back once . She was more than happy to get out of it and marry the love of her life which was refreshing to see. For whatever reasons, they didn’t show the cliche stuff here- her staying in that loveless marriage for the sake of that child and trying to change the husband with her love and kindness even after the horrible things he did to her

Kzk was regressive when they showed Prerna, Kom fighting for sindoor...It was regressive when Prerna was forced into a marriage and was expected to be duty bound to that sham of a marriage and it is regressive even now....so people can get off their high horses 😊

She's the same woman who needs some form of 'marriage' to bear a child out of wedlock, child with the love of her life and she is progressive ? 😆 She's a black mark on the name of her character, ruining the legacy for me ever since she agreed to marry Naveen creep for whatever xyz reason, instead of thinking of doing a job or something. I hope they rename this character to Bhavna, Sadhna, Kalpana or Raveena I dont care, why call this thing 'Prerna'? 😡

Ekta single handedly , has ruined the legacy of our Iconic Prerna in this season , .. prerna was really khas for me and true inspiration for those days in many ways ... but now , Ekta nam ka bhi man nei rakkhi hai ... 👎🏼

You're 100% right DG and I echo the sentiments which is why I said prerna is comparatively relatable for an itv FL, in that she is more human. Even a small thing we see these days in the way she is dressed is testament to that because usually we see FLs look perfectly groomed, no matter what. In such a case to see a naturally dusky skinned FL, looking tired in her final trimester is itself a great achievement. It is these little nuances that im talking about. The rest we are not looking for a role model in an itv FL.

And honestly, hearing talks of feminism and progressive or regressive content from people who celebrate a man for "teaching" a woman her self worth and self respect and expect to her to be eternally grateful for the same sounds really hollow, so spare me!!

I agree..with the second para...but not completely..she stayed in the loveless marriage until the cat was out of the bag..that video by chance....which led to the aakhri vaar shit and someone willingly gave up on her...she never asked him .....she didnt do anything to come out of it nor express her sadness with him.....yes, she never looked back..this isnt a remarkable thing either coz aise bhi her universe is anurag , was is and future I dont know ..but abhi toh hai..but nevertheless kuch toh hai...I said this pehle bhi..if in comparison to bajaj times , anything is good , this is not how I judge it...

@hope , her make up has always been ott be it naveen or komo times or bajaj , this time she is distressed .but whatever..the get up suits her..i liked her cotton sarees post komo too.....also I find it good that erica agreed to play a pregnant woman with a full blown tummy and that too for this long ..bec many heroines r not willing...this has nothing to do with her character..almost all heroines except vamps get to play middle class , dress up simple n subtle initially and later on when they are in gareeb maayka..its common.

@bold:My post was made before the epi😔 As far as I remember, Prerna didn't slap anyone last week or in the recent times.

From what I have seen, she definitely gives less bhashans compared to other itv FLs and slaps toh definitely way less than her predecessor😆 I find nothing progressive about slaps and I never said Prerna is progressive either. I was specifically talking about how the divorce in the last track was the only progressive thing they showed this season whether it was intentional or not

See, I wanted her to fight back during the last track.I so hated it when she accepted her fate and did nothing to come out of the marriage. Agreed that Prerna did not do anything remarkable but what I found to be refreshing was her not staying in the marriage for the sake of the child even after the husband was willing to let go. Normally, itv FLs don't divorce and they definitely won't say bye bye to a step child the way Prerna did. It is not easy to love another child more than your own but ITV FLs do that. Prerna didn't .You normally see the fl transforming the man child with her love and heart of gold. That didn't happen here fortunately. Her ex-husband gave her the divorce papers and she didn't even look confused for a minute. Like hope said, she knew what this marriage meant for her and was more than happy to get out of it when the opportunity came. I know the writers never meant to show anything progressive in this show.
