I wanted to add to this.. but I don't have the figures in front of me.. those arw also interesting facts like above.. I will add later on. But thanks for this on viewership number which is huge in rural but they are larger area wise? I think so maked sense.. I'll come back to this.

If we look at BARC India's impression for week 48, we can see that KZK 2 was in the 18th rank with 2785 impressions, out of Top 20 Rural GEC Programs. Here

Iwmbuzz doesm't have top 20 data for all the weeks. Majority is just for top 5..which is so disappointing.. but whatever is available since the show started, in that KZK only made twice or thrice in Top 20 Rural that to with low impressions sometime less than half as compared to Urban. So show is watched there but they aren't the one resulting much to it fluctuation...mostly constant.. real trp winners are in whoever is surveyed under Urban pockets..

So even if this week and probably even before last week, KZK was not in top 20 position, lets say it was among top 50 program watched in the Rural GEClist, yet even if 1 percent of that 99 milli2on rural tv viewing population watch KZK, it still accounts for around 1 million rural GEC viewers. So how can we be sure that whatever @bookworm had said in her post in a different thread which became the precedent for this thread, is not true? Agreed that not everyone would watch KZK with reasons as resonated by @bookworm, but even whatever we think are guesses and conjectures. Unless we have data that breaks down the reasons for which viewers watch (or doesn't) a particular Show as well as the proportions of each of those reasons, the other person's reasons are as good or as bad as mine....

So true we will never know the reason why anyone watches a show.. so it keeps it open to interpretations.. we may choose to blv that people watch it less in rural because they have different choices and preferences available data says.. on the other we can also say that people watch it coz they resonate.

Thanks for bringing up these shows moon.. their re-runs won more impressions in Rural market then current runs. Also these shows (except KZK) did make it to top 5 in rural as well a few times.. and went down to below 15s.. so they are pretty okay to reject content it seems or prefer other content over super dramatic and at times illogical shows like mentioned above.. whoever is working in this field must have so much info on lifestyle behaviours.
