It's not a Jodi if either party gives up and has kids with other people. It's called a past or a polygamous relationship.

Being married & having kids is the benefits of a Jodi.

What the writers should have done: Prerna ran off with or without the child to escape being convicted and Anurag helped her leave so after pushing Komo of Howrah bridge, Anurag would join Prerna in London and both to lead a life of anonymity. But then his memory goes again and no one knows about this apart from Bajaj or Komo. Prerna thinks Anu has betrayed her but Anurag has no idea. He's been raising Sneha on his own as Anupam refuses to let Komolika have her way with him. Anurag is no longer at Basu Bari but Komolika has moved in to be close to her lovely dovey Mohini.
