She was standing on terrace lost in thoughts at Sharma Nivas, she was back at her mother's place after Mr Bajaj gave her divorce papers and declared that he is granting her freedom, freeing her of from prison and the loyalty that bound to him in the name of marriage, when he gave divorce to her it shocked and surprised her but at that moment she felt immense happiness but now why can't she find the same happiness and eagerness to marry Anurag which was present in her prior to five hours or when she stepped inside the Sharma Nivas along with her mother who wanted to marry her daughter with all the rituals and customs. Why do her thoughts are wandering towards Kuki and him.
Her thoughts are so confusing that she felt like she is going to faint any minute now, she was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt someone's presence behind her and when she turned around she saw her mother looking at her.
"What happened Priyu?" Veena asked her and Prerana continued to look at her mother in the eye continuously searching for something even for what she didn't know which is frustrating her to no end.
"Priyu, What are you looking at?" Veena asked her daughter frustratingly which snapped Prerana out of her stupor.
"Nothing Maa, just thinking how much has changed in my life in last four-five months, I mean Anurag marrying Komolika, then separation, trust issues between us, then Ronit issue followed by me marrying Rish- Mr Bajaj, then everything and at last him divorcing me and uniting me and Anurag today, that's it, everything is just revolving in my head that's it," Prerana confessed to her mother.
"Priyu that is past which should be erased and new chapter should be written in that place and now I'm happy because you are marrying to the man you love and who is perfect partner to you, Onu is best for you beta, don't remember unnecessarily things and get your health spoiled, go and sleep tomorrow is your sagai," Veena said and left from there for first time ignoring her daughter's inner turmoil.
Prerana sat on the swing on terrace and closed her eyes and immediately was assaulted by Rishab and Kuki's images, the time they spent together as family, her and Kuki as mother-daughter, the dance she had with Mr Bajaj on insistence of Kuki on her birthday, his dimple smile which is reserved only for their daughter later for her, his comfort, support and mainly his loyalty towards her and she jerked opened her eyes which became wide after realizing what she is feeling for her husb- ex-husband but still she didn't sign on the papers that mean she is Mrs Bajaj and now she knows what she wants and where does she and to whom she belongs too. She entered her room and called Mr Mehra and asked her to make some arrangements and went to sleep thinking whatever tomorrow is going to happen will decided whether her decision will mend her life or will break it apart.
Next Morning came early to People of Basu Bari and Sharma Nivas and everyone was excited and was buzzing with happiness and excitement while Prerana got ready at slow pace knowing today she is going to witness a huge drama if she knows KakiMaa correctly, after an hour Prerana along with her family reached Basu Bari.
"Namaste Veena Bhabhi," Moloy Basu greeted the family while Mohini Basu stood beside him with permanent frown and disgust in her eyes which made Prerana fume but she controlled it for time being and everyone started to wait for Anurag as he was out saying he has an important work before the sagai gets done.
It has been three hours and even guests started to gossip about Anurag's absence while Prerana was calm and just then Anurag entered inside the house having a folder in his hand, while his eyes were reflecting anger, hate and disgust.
"The engagement is cancelled folks, you all can leave to your houses," Anurag declared and everyone in both the families looked shocked while Anurag was looking at Prerana with anger while guests were still standing there gossiping which made Anurag irritated.
"I said leave now, you have your own houses to sit and gossip leisurely in your own comfort and royalty," Anurag snapped and with that everyone moved out Basu Bari leaving Sharma and Basu families.
"What happened Onu, what made you stop this engagement?" Nivedita asked.
"Why don't you see to yourself Di, today before an hour off prior to our engagement I got a call from hospital, saying that reports of Prerana are ready and I thought that she is not feeling well so I went to collect it and what I came to know made me realize what type of girl she is and how characterless she is," Anurag said passing the folder to Nivi, Mohini walked towards her daughter and what they saw in that made their blood boil and immediately Mohini went and slapped Prerana tightly.
"What type of a girl are you, first you married Bajaj for money and when you became pregnant with his child, you were going to marry my Onu, what happened to Bajaj did he reject to accept this baby as his or even he is not the father of the baby and is someone else's, you are characterless women, I'm really happy that I didn't accept you as my daughter-in-law from start if not our reputation would have been at stake," Mohini roared while Prerana looked at her for once.
"That is enough Mrs Basu, I never gave you right to point finger at my character or my child, so kindly please shut your mouth because today I have lot of things to get settled," Prerana ordered anger and hate evident in her tone and moved towards Anurag.
"I will ask you a few questions and you will answer it truthfully after that you will never have to see my face, do you understand Anurag?" Prerana said looking at Anurag in the eye.
"Ask what you want and get the hell out of my life," Anurag said coldly while Prerana just shook her head.
"Did you or did you not love for me once and was all the love you showered on me was your drama or the infatuation you have for me?" Prerana asked looking him in the eye while all were looking at her in shock.
"That was no infatuation, I loved you really but what-" Anurag was going to say something else but Prerana stopped it with her hand.
"did you ever had trust in our relationship and me or I was just an obsession that you found thinking that you should get me back from Bajaj at any cost?"Prerana asked and Anurag looked at her in shock and didn't know what to say for few minuted but anyways answered it.
"I had trust in our relationship and you were not an obsession that I wanted to win from that ruthless Bajaj," Anurag said.
"No, you are wrong we never had trust between us because when you came to know that I married Mr Bajaj, you and your family accused me as characterless and liar when in truth your mother was the one who begged to me to protect you at any cost and at the cost of me, then you hurt me again and again when you know that your words and actions were causing me to hurt and pain yet you ignored it because you wanted me in your life back because you were jealous of Mr Bajaj, in fit of impulsiveness you snatched a home of a child which was her sanctuary then put allegations on Mr Bajaj for your own created drama called accident and all these things are called obsession Anurag and you won it, correct me if I'm wrong?" Prerana said and Anurag looked at her with open mouth.
"I trusted you yet you were going to make Bajaj's child like mine and as Maa said you middle-class girls are same for the money you will do anything first it was me then it is Mr Bajaj now who will be next target?' Anurag asked which disgusted Prerana thinking once upon a time she loved this man.
"You know what Anurag you are nothing but irresponsible, immature, hotheaded, stubborn and careless person I have ever met in my life and I'm ashamed on myself that I loved you once upon a time, you can never be a man till the time you will this world for what it is and I'm happy that this relation is broken before it can do any more damage to my heart or me because every relation needs Trust more than love and care because once trust is built love and care will grow between the couple automatically which was never present between us, Good Bye Mr Basu, soon you will receive documents in an hour or so, sign them and send it to me," Prerana said and turned towards her family and walked towards her mother.
"Do you trust me if I say that the baby that is growing inside me is of Anurag's blood and not of Mr Bajaj's? Prerana asked her mother directly looking at her in the eye.
"Just shut up Prerana, how can you do this with Onu, how can you cheat him and are these the values and morals I taught you and how can you be so careless, you are no more-" Veena was going to say something else when Prerana interrupted her.
"They say anyone can mistrust us but not a mother mistrust her own child, who will be with us all through our lives because they love their children but maybe those people are wrong, from today Prerana Sharma or Priyu is dead for you people, the only person who is alive is Mrs Prerana Rishabh Bajaj, wife of Rishabh Bajaj and Mother of her daughter Sneha Bajaj and their unborn child," Prerana said pouring a bucked full of water on herself declaring their daughter and sister is no more alive which shocked everyone just then Mr Mehra entered inside.
"Mam, I stopped Mr Bajaj making excuse as you said, they will be leaving Kolkatta tomorrow evening as you ordered and you said I made all the arrangements you asked for also I didn't submit the divorce in the court," Mehra said.
"That is good and thank you, Mr Mehra, now can you drop me at a Mall, I need to buy few things before I leave everything behind as I don't want any ties to my Past?" Prerana asked, Mehra, nodded his head and walked outside followed by Prerana who stopped at the threshold of Basu Bari and turned around and looked at Anurag in the eye before saying.
"GOODBYE MR ANURAG MOLOY BASU, YOU ARE NO MORE THAN A PAGE IN MY PAST, I NEVER BELONGED TO YOU BECAUSE FATE ALREADY CHOSE HIM FOR ME AND YOU WERE JUST A WAY FOR ME TO REACH MY TRUE SOUL MATE AND I ONLY BELONGS TO HIM," With that Prerana walked away forever leaving all the bitter memories and family who always hurt her and made her cry in pain.
