When we see Rishabh dancing with Tanvi, his movements are all robotic and routine. He seems so disinterested and annoyed at the thought of dancing. But when Kuki hands Prerna's hand in his, the tension is so palpable you feel it in your throat. Kuki places the haq Prerna deserves right at the palm of her hands, one that Prerna it seems was fated to have. Prerna loves Anurag, but she is also connected to Kuki in a way that was just as predestined as AnuPre. PreRish is journey hasn't started as 'epic' or 'meant to be' in the way AnuPre's was, but through Kuki we are learning why and how PreRish work. Kuki is overjoyed at seeing her parents together, who are parents TOGETHER as a direct result of her. A small child who wants for nothing with a father as devoted as her own willed a mother for herself, and in turn changed the course of Rishabh and Prerna's lives forever.
For the first time since dancing, Rishabh willfully turns to face his dance partner aka Prerna. When he warns her that women in anger will step on their partner's feet, omo does Mr. Bajaj have a humourous side? Even his jokes are given so monotonously that it escapes you for a second LOL. But he guides her seamlessly, and she follows in step. His hold on her is so cautious, he doesn't move any closer than needed, he pulls her in slightly but she's the one who loses balance. It shows how steadfast Rishabh is in this relationship and how guarded and uneasy Prerna is in it.
But the emphasis of today's moments was their conversation during their dance. A step in the right direction. He tells her he will answer anything she wants, but only if she asks. He tells her she hadn't asked him anything, she had accused him of ill intentions, and he wouldn't answer to that. But GO D the way they breakdown each other's worst communication habits, how they communicate with each other and the differences in their communication styles. When she says that they've now spoken enough, he tells her this is the first time they've really had a conversation. And he's right. Before this point, they hadn't ever communicated effectively. They were able to strike right at each other's weakest communication points and TOLD the other what they each needed in order for communication to be effective. Rishabh was completely in the right for saying he wanted her to lessen her accusatory tone because she can't always be right about the OTHER person being wrong. And she equally is correct in saying that he needs to change his approach about how he talks to others if he wants them to understand him. The truth of the matter is that they don't know each other, and the only way to know each other is to be able to communicate, which they did today. Their dance was purposefully awkward and not in sync because they don't know each other well.
Their scene with Kuki, when they do that little peace sign for the two, brilliant. It shows that at their core, even with all their differences, Rishabh and Prerna share similarities. Their smiles are so bright when their daughter is around as if everything else pales in comparison. Nothing else matters. Rishabh's smiles, all of them, are reserved for the one bright silver lining in his life, his daughter. And in a way, it softens him around Prerna, who sees him in a new light every day because of it.
I have to believe that a man as smart and shrewd as Rishabh can see through his own so-called massi's motives. I think he keeps them around out of habit or maybe out of comfort. This is someone he's had the longest standing relationship with, and out of respect of that time he's kept her in his presence. If he had wanted to marry Tanvi, if she had been his choice, at any time before Prerna he would have married her. But he didn't. There is a reason he didn't. And even with massi's plotting and Tanvi's seducing, he won't bend. It's like the movie Dhadkhan where akshay's character was well aware of his stepfamily but only took a stand when his wife's reputation and self-respect was at stake. I have a feeling PreRish's journey will go the same route. Massi and Tanvi's losing game will take a hard turn and they will make Prerna out to be either disloyal or adulterous, and Rishabh well aware of who Prerna is, will not believe them. She is the mother of his child first, his wife second, and as the mother of his child Rishabh knows Prerna would never do anything to mar that title. The future looks bright today, a small injury will do nothing to burn the high PreRish fans are on!
