The reason I don't watch this show on TV is this. I rather watch this show on hotstar and skip all that Naveen, Komalika shit plus to add on Mr Bajaj is also going to grace us ( I don't think nakul will ever match up the charisma of rohit Roy, I still hope Iqbal khan bagges the role plus I can't take another fan war from ib fandom). But then my sister is so crazy on parth after watching some episodes of kzk on hotstar with me, she ends up watching the same on TV everyday. I really hope the first storyline does not repeat.

I have too thought that this railway track promo is a major backfire in terms of people not wanting to invest their time and emotions on Anu-Pre..

I think you made extremely valid points there.

Even I didn't watch KZK1 when it aired back in 2000. But from what I have heard from my granny, chachis and my mom, KZK1 was never a great love story. My chachi even told me that after a point, Prerana fell in love with Bajaj and lived happily ever after with him while Anuraag continued to suffer endlessly. As I have read and heard, Anuraag's characterization continued to go downhill as the then viewers found Prerana and Bajaj's chemistry more electrifying than that of Anuraag and Prerana. The fact that the leads were at loggerheads with each made the story worse for the supposed protagonists leading into Bajaj getting elevated as the hero, despite his multiple wrongdoings.

Recently, after the announcement of KZK reboot, I did watch a few episodes of old KZK and man I could not even feel pity for Anuraag's character after a couple of episodes. He was not only a spineless mamma's boy but also extremely stupid and easy to manipulate. Hence, I could not help an eye roll when on the last episode, Anuraag Prerana's soul united to have their celestial happily ever after.

So far Anuraag's character is nothing like that in the old KZK. He is the only redeeming character after Moloy in an otherwise lackadaisical Show. And to know that such a strong, sorted and practical character is going to set butchered after a while doesn't sit quite well with me. Besides, I am Parth's fan from his earlier show. I will not be able to watch him reduced to a mere sidekick after Bajaj's entry.

I'm sure this show is watched hugely by the modern generation viewers because of Parth and Erica. Not only will it be stupid of Ekta to butcher either Anuraag or Prerana's character, but also extremely backfiring if she decides to miff this young chunk of viewers. The idea of separation and loneliness, while still loving the other person is still beautiful. The ideas of multiple marriages and kids from multiple partners are extremely regressive in today's day and time.

Even if Ekta is adamant to let the leads meet only in an afterlife, I hope she only sticks to the idea of the leads getting separated with and pining for each other. It will be extremely gross to watch them married to other people with kids from their respective partners, yet professing divine and undying love for each other.

With the railway track promo of how they will walk together but never meet, I don't, however, think that either Parth's or Erica's fan will stick to this show for long. How the Show will fare in future will be primarily decided by Hina's and the actor playing Mr. Bajaj's fans.

I wish Ekta had started a fresh new love story with Parth and Erica instead of rinse and repeat crap. The show would have been a definite TRP puller from the get-go.

You may be on to something here.

From what others have said about kasauti 1, the leads if you can even c them that were separated by episode 25-30. How that translates into an eternal love is difficult to understand. I suspect that the time that kasauti came out the Indian audience was used to mainstream Bollywood movies that were also not much better in what they showed than TV.

That is not the case now. Even Bollywood movies are becoming more discerning and the youth audience is used to the choice and quality of serials from other countries. Actually not even youth- my mom was really into a Pakistani serial called Zindagi Gulzar Hai and I even I got hooked on it!

So kasauti 1 and the whole Anurag-Prerna eternal love story would not work now unless they really show us how that love story develops. And that's what they are doing.

But the older crowd are not expecting that - they think it a repeat of Kasauot 1 - so maybe they are not giving it a chance. Once burnt twice shy. Jubilee

Ekta won't repeat the mistakes if Kzk1.
Though the essence of the story might be similar but has a fresh feel to it. She knows what the audience wants especially the young crowd...since now kzk2 is a youth oriented show.
We might have thousands of kasauti s but end game will be anupre..(what I feel)...when we get them together is a question.

Indian TV audience never think so much. It's just matter of addiction, once they include any soup in their daily routine, they won't quit it till they get another addiction. Look at Yeh rishta kya kehlata hain, they are just getting everybody married and dancing, audience of that show know that there won't be anything except marriages and dancing, but they watch it out of habit.

One more thing, people who are contributing in TRP are not any couple holic, they don't enjoy dupatta flying, eye locks, pull-push etc.. nor they are invested in any couple like online phangirls who just keep waiting for meaningless romance. TRP audience demand drama and spice. Shakti is more spicy than kasauti at this moment 😆 If couple can bring TRP, star one would have been number 1 channel which is no more and Bepannah wouldn't be going off air.😆

TRP is just matter of luck, nothing else. This show has failed as overall presentation, but you never know, it might pick up later or never pick up at all. It's luck.

Agree with your point about shows becoming a part of routine.
Once you are hooked to a show after the initial episodes, it is really difficult to drop it even when the show deteriorates with crap story line. There is this utterly regressive show that comes in a regional language, I have been after my parents for no idea how long to have them drop it but they still watch it saying need to see what happens in the end!!

@Bold- You nailed it right on the head dear. Erica and parth have phenomenal chemistry, and parth actually emotes so well (BTW this is the first time I'm watching both of them so have no idea about their previous shows). Ekta created an amazing pair here, but failed by casting them for a remake of a show like kasauti. She should have made a completely original love story and casted them in it.
