- there is a definte lack of consistency.
The big example of that is for the dori scene, she was wearing the dupatta in a totally different way, had her hair done differently and wore different jewellery. Why the hell did the creatives then change it later? Also in the scene in the saree shop they made a whole moment around Prerna's top. The top she wore for that scene was different from the top in the box. One had spaghetti straps but the one prerna wore was sleeveless but pretty thick straps.
There is a big issue with continuity in this aerial. They use hands of different people unnecessarily for scenes - like in the ring removal scene they used the hand of a person with tattoos rather than Parths hand. This was a pretty important scene and you are a production house with a humongous budget. Even if Parth has left for the day use someone with similar hands to his! And dont change the way the Erica wears hers clothes just to suit each scene.
So on this point I do agree with you. What I will say is that in real life sometimes we wear clothes a particular way for a function come out of the room and everyone makes us change it because they don't like the way we look. That does sort of happen or it is only when I come out of the room dressed?
- the other point that you are making is I think that prerna is not dressed in a sanskari way. I have to admit I disagree with you on this.
If they wanted to make prerna shy in that saree shop episode and neural make what are pretty cutting remarks about her clothes they should have made her wear that strappy blouse or a strapless saree blouse. Not a top that even my mom and aunts would wear. All she was wearing was a sleeveless top - it was not even very low necked.
The reality is that there is something about the way Erica looks and dresses, she always looks innocent and young. I think this has also got a lot to do with the way her skirt is placed. It is not placed so low like Komolika's. Maybe other people can explain it better but I did not think Prerna looks in my way cheap even when her dupatta was falling off. They have made the cut in her top so conservative and just the way Erica looks. She looks like a kid with atta in her hair.
So in short yes I think they need to be consistent in how they make prerna wear her clothes and consistent in what they call a racy dress. But I have to say I totally disagree if someone of you are trying to say that Prerna the character looks cheap or vulgar in any scene. One has to keep in mind that Prerna is between 20-23 years old. Isn't this how we dress when we go to functions, even those of us who have conservative parents?
