agreed. while parth did a good job, manhandling to get your point is something that is wrong. also, i kind of didn't like when anurag entered prerna's room to talk about the issue, i mean, you can talk it out when she's coming over n all about the same thing...really, such scenes are a bane to indian tv...

Thank you! I was the one that made that post and I was really surprised that Anu was behaving that way because he was shown as so sweet before. One of the reasons I loved him so much was that he never ever forced prerna, it was always sucha gentle approach from him. However, more and more I'm getting annoyed because no matter how wrong Prerna is, Anu should not invade her space like this. And every single time Prerna has told Anu to stay out of it, every time. Obviously Anu is worried but the savior complex is real rn and I don't like it.

Well, this is very common in hindi serials. I have seen many such shows before and the heroine never slaps the hero back. About Parth, if u have seen the serial "Kaisi yeh yariyaan". He was the most abusive over there and have manhandled the female lead Nandini multiple times. Still, the show was a hit and people loved him. Here, Anurag is moving to that kind of character but trust me, if he totally becomes like that that we will not be able to recognize him as anurag as I have seen him that way in his previous serial (Sorry for the comparison with other serial, I was just giving an example)

You should watch kaisi yeh yaariyan season 1😆 that was Parth's debut show..you'll forget the meaning of abuse. In that show

Ragging= care
Manhandling= love
Bullying= concern
Smooching= favorite time pass

😆

i think that is quite an unfair comparison..in kyy manik was shown as a bully...it wasn't just nandini..he and his group fab 5 which had girls too bullied everyone that too to extreme..nandini was the first one who put a stop it..manik;s actions were never justified either...but after he changes after falling for nandini he never ever mishandled her or treated her badly!

thats why people fell for them..and smooching is normally what lovers do when they are together..cos mtv was not a gec channel..they showed the realistic portrayal of youngsters in love..unlike GEC shows where even married people take years to consummate their marriage..

i haven't seen the episode in discussion to comment on anurag's behaviour but manik and anurag can't be compared..manik had a troubled childhood and a devil for a mother but even so his monstrous ways was not justified in the show!

clearly you never saw the show to say ragging= care or something..tell me where exactly it was shown like that..matlab kuch bhi:)

I agree as well as disagree with you. I don't think @White..Magic ever said that Manik's actions were justified in KYY. She just 'stated' how abusive his behavior was. And that's true. His character might have been a bully but he was the lead of that show. And his portrayal was abusive and toxic. That's a fact. I have seen male leads having a toxic childhood and yet turning out to be gentlemanly. So that cannot serve as a defense for Manik's behaviour. It made me empathise with him but didn't change the fact as to how his behaviour was. Anurag has been very mild compared to Manik. Not even close. But the writers have lost grip over Anurag and his characterisation is going haywire..

I agree with you regarding the portrayal of love between youngsters. That was fine.

Just my POV. I hope I didn't offend you, no such intention. Sorry if I did :)

Apart from these TRP and PHANS SALVINATING Checklist ... the show did had its heart at its place where MaNan was concerned .

However Manik'a abusive behaviour was Troublesome, Irking and Scary and yes having troubled childhood doesn't justify those actions .
What problematic childhood did Anu had that he was pinning prerna against wall ??
Point to say these all pinning/forcing/hyperventilating scenes was just added to increase the Hawtness quotient of the character/Lead pair ...well that is the description of such scenes in these pea sized Brain writers . Their creativity and writing is SOO LIMITED that could only think of adding such scenes .

The major concern here is this was become the fixed template for all writers/creatives now on ITV and this needs to be stopped .

why would you offend me? you just stated your POV..its ok

the story of kyy is about the redemption of a bully...it was more like the beauty and the beast..so if you wanted to show someone as a beast initially..you can't show him as a saint now can you?

there are many shows abt criminals too...and not all criminals come from a bad background i agree..some have loving parents too..but if you chose to show a story abt a life of a criminal you will have to show his crimes ..

whitemagic equaled ragging to showing concern which is an incorrect description of the show...nandini never liked or even accepted manik when he ragged or bullied her..thats the difference and thats why i corrected her..what they showed manik as initally was disgusting but nandini always fought him...she never fell for his manhandling ways ..infact she even developed a crush on dhruv who was manik's friend initially cos he was kind to her..it was only when manik started changing for good that nandini fell for him

in comparison in ekta as well as gul's show the male lead keeps on manhandling the female lead even after they are together..but it is shown in a romantic way ..

the audience hated manik intially along with nandini and they fell for him after nandini started liking him...that is what i meant by his actions were not justified as good...nandini's punch to him made me fall for her character...but the way manik was redeemed later on..and he took care of her selflessly during the whole PTSD track was what made me fall for him too..he was crazy abt her and never disrespected her ever ..

as for your point abt a lead being shown like that..manik started as a monster but he changed completely for the love of a girl...for me thats a beautiful message..how someone's love and acceptance can bring out the good in you...as compared to how the male leads who continue treating the fl shabbily in the name of love or because he is spineless enough to not take a stand for her..most of the gec shows have male leads like that..and they are justified too..for me thats the wrong message!

Agreed to both your posts.. manik's aggressiveness was NEVER shown as attractive to nandini EVER
In fact even after he became incredibly gentle towards her and stopped bullying anyone in general.. even then till the end his anger issues were never brushed under the carpet.. they always had nandini worry or disapprove of his anger.. however justified his anger was.. And he tried to work on his anger for her sake..
He'll.. the FL didn't even once SMILE at the ML for more than first 25 episodes..first time she ever did was when he showed a little vulnerability.. these gul or ekta shows.. even when they hate.. hero ne manhandled kiya nahin heroine starts getting affected by the eyelock..

Anyway I think we should just wait to see anurag.. it's still early to blow this out if proportion and call him abusive.. But I just want writers to be careful and CONSCIOUSLY avoid making anurag like other heroes.. he can show his anger w9thput touching her through his words
