i think it sounds cute in marathi too. and who knows if u marry a non-maharashtrian, u can call him 'aap' 😳.

Part 7

Rishabh relaxed at home the whole day. He needed to catch up on his sleep, and he worked from home for some time. Niharika had not called him even though she had texted him in d morning saying that she would call him.

Finally he lost patience and called her up.
"Hi Niharika.."
"Ohh..Rishabh aap.." She sounded very disturbed.
"Kya hua..tum itni pareshan kyun lag rahi ho.."
"There is a business crisis. My new project..the sponsor has backed out suddenly..due to some internal problems..now I have to find another one. It's all chaotic-"
"Meri baat suno- let's meet n discuss this. I'll sort this out, don't worry."
"Lekin Rishabh-"
"See u at Coffee shop of Eagle. Main 15 minute mein pahunchta hu."

Rishabh went through her documents at the quiet n cozy coffee shop of 5-star hotel Eagle.
"I'll sponsor ur project." He said with a smile and dumped the file on the table.
"You? lekin- Look I don't want u to do this out of sympathy or anything-"
"I like this project, I really do. I think it will give me good profit. Agar kisi aur ka hota, to bhi main approve karta!"
"Are u sure u r taking this decision solely on the merit of my project?"
"Niharika..I know how to keep professional and personal lives different."
"Rishabh, please tell me the truth."
"Well, I do think this project is good, ok? aur agar main tumhare liye kuch karu, to bhi ismein galat kya hain?"
"Galat yeh hain ke aap kisi aur ke pati- " She said and stopped abruptly. She closed her eyes to hide her tears.
Rishabh looked away and sighed.
"Please take this sponsorship- from Rishabh Bajaj- the CEO of Bajaj Group- Not Rishabh- the lover of Niharika."
He urged, and she hated that. Pleading and Rishabh were two opposites. She didn't want her mighty rude Rajput to plead.
"Ok I'll take this. Thanks." She said hurriedly.
"Thanks." He smiled.
"I need to staff my new office. Oh- I first need a new office. My sponsor won't be giving me the office anymore."
"There's one bay at Bajaj HQ that is empty. You can operate from there."
"That'll be cool."
They both sat there enjoying their coffees and chatting up on general news and current affairs. They avoided speaking about their relationship. This was at least safe, if not entirely comfortable.

Udi entered Eagle's main lobby and was heading towards the disco, when he spotted Rishabh Bajaj at the coffee shop. He entered the coffee shop quietly, and saw Rishabh-Niharika sipping coffee and chatting. He was so shocked, he almost dropped his stick down.
"Daddy Cool ke saath yeh khoobsurat phool? Kahin Daddy Cool, Mother India se tang aa kar kisi aur se affair to nahi kar rahe hai?Ab to Daddy Cool pe nazar rakhni hi padegi. Chal UD, ho ja shuru!"
After Rishabh and Niharika left in Rishabh's car, Udi followed them and found out Niharika's address. He called up a detective and said-"Mujhe Niharika Aggarwal ki history aur saari information chaahiye. Ek baar Mother India ko Daddy Cool ke is chakkar ke baare pata chal gaya, to unke dande mujhpe nahi, Daddy Cool pe padenge! What a scene that would be- woh kya kehte hain Hindi main- Mera pati sirf mera hain!"

Udi went back to Basu House. Prerna was talking with anurag. Sam was fuming.
"Mother India!" he smiled.
"Prem?" Prerna smiled and got up. "Kaisa hain tu?"
"Main to bilkul theek hu Mother India! Waise, aap ke pati-dev, mere Daddy Cool kaise hain?"
"Woh bhi theek hi hain.."
"Kya aapko pata hai aapke patidev is waqt kahan hain?"
"Ghar mein..ya shaayad office mein..kyun kuch kaam tha?"
"Nahi. Buss! aise hi pooch raha tha. U know- aap ko aapke pati-dev ki kitni jaankaari hain, yeh check kar raha tha."
"Tu aise kyun baat kar raha hain? Agar tune phir se koi-" Prerna was getting angry at udi.
"Maine kuch nahi kiya hai is baar. Lekin aap jara Daddy Cool pe nazar rakhna. Aap to Basu House mein yun din bhar padi rehti hain, aur Daddy Cool sochte honge- main aur meri tanhai-"
"PREM! Yeh kya keh rahe ho tum?" anurag screamed angrily.
"Kya galat keh raha hain woh!" Sam said.
"WOW! Sam is supporting ME? What a nice day!Well, I am going to take a nap, Mother India- aap yahin rukne wali hain aaj?" udi said.
"Nahi main buss ja hi rahi thi." Prerna said.
"Bye." Udi said in his typical style- lifting both his hands and snapping his fingers in front of Prerna's eyes.

Prerna came home. Rishabh was working on Niharika's project. He didn't speak anything to her.
"Mr.Bajaj, Aaj aap Prem se mile the?"
"Main? Prem se? Nahi." Rishabh said looking up and again focused back on the laptop.
"Aaj Prem kuch ajeeb hi baat kar raha tha. Mujhe uski bohot fikar hoti hain." Prerna said with tears in her eyes. Rishabh looked at her- "Tum aur Anurag ho na uske liye." He said.
Then he got up,and carried his laptop to his study.
Prerna could again sense the cold wall between them but she didn't know why it was happening. Mr Bajaj had not put his arm around her and pulled her close as usual, even though he saw her crying for Prem. This was unusal. Rishabh came back to the bedroom after some time, and slept without speaking a word to her.

Prerna felt extremely alone and insecure even though he was with her in the same room. She turned to him, and pulled his hand over her waist. He got up and said- "Yahan pe kisi ne paani bhi nahi rakha." He opened the small refrigerator in the room and drank some water. Then he went to his study, and slept on the large comfy couch there. Prerna was unable to understand what was going on..
