On February 9, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki's Tina Parakh married her real life fiance, Vikram Hazra, a musician associated with the Art of Living's worldwide 'rock' satsang programme.
The couple tied the knot in a simple, outdoor morning ceremony at the Art of Living ashram in Bangalore, where only close friends and family was present. Dressed as a Bengali bride (Vikram is Bengali), Tina looked beautiful.
"She looked just lovely in a red saree. It was a very simple wedding, very peaceful and romantic. The couple looked ecstatic,"says a guest.
Groom Vikram Hazra certainly sounded very happy as he spoke to DT. "We've known each other two-and-a-half years. We had common friends and Tina had also come for some of my concerts. We became good friends but neither imagined we would marry one day."
So when was the decision made? "During the navratris last year. It just had to happen. We have been very busy the last few months but it just fell together now."
The decision to marry at the Ashram was Tina's, says Vikram. What was special was that many close friends, especially Tina's co-stars from Kasautii Zindagi Kay and Kahani also attended. "Many of her co-stars attended the wedding, plus many of my friends,"says Vikram.
Vikram is known as the Ashram's 'rock star', a tag he's not particularly fond of. "It's a misnomer, I hate rock. My music is different.
"Vikram travels often to different countries, singing 'rocking' versions of bhajans on his electric guitar, while Tina is a busy star. How will the duo find time for marriage and each other? "Yes, both of us have hectic schedules and it will be difficult. I am travelling in March to Africa. But we will work out how we can meet."
