I am sorry if this has been posted already Tanisha is leading lady Shubha Verma, the Kasautii girl from down-under rises to the top with Karbon Kopy She doesn't look like a conventional television actress but certainly has it in her to be noticed. Shubha Verma, who is currently playing Tanisha in Balaji's Kasautii Zindagi Kay, has bagged the lead role in Karbon Kopy. The show will be aired on Star One and will premiere end of the year. Like other Balaji shows, this one too was conceptualized by producer Ekta Kapoor. Says Shubha, "It's the story of a girl from an affluent background who comes to Mumbai to create her own identity. She marries a guy who eventually dies in an accident. Her in-laws begin to eye the money she will inherit from her family. They try to drive her to the point of insanity in order to send her to an asylum. I can't reveal more at this point." Karbon Kopy is a 13-episode weekly that will also star Yash Tonk, Deepshikha and other theatre actors. "If you're expecting this to be a saas-bahu soap then you're in for a big disappointment," says Shubha. Apparently, the show caters to the urban Indian youth and has a contemporary feel to it: "It's completely different to the other Balaji shows that are already established," she adds. Shubha, who was recently in the news for her alleged liaison with Cezanne Khan, says that she prefers not to talk about her personal life, "I've already said whatever I had to about my personal relationships. I do not want to be in the news for that. I'd rather have my work speak for me." Right now, it's her professional life that is uppermost in her mind. She's high on the fact that she has bagged Karbon Kopy. "So far we've only shot for a couple of episodes. Lets see how its shapes up in totality. I'm completely relying on the director of the show Pavan Kaul. I hope he extracts the best out of me," she concludes. | |
