Bani had thought that she will leave the house in his absence because she knew she wouldn't be able to leave in his presence and as expected tears started flowing from her eyes. To prevent him to see those tears, she turned back and starts playing with the zip of her suitcase. Much she tried but her tears were not stopping and dropped on her fingers, which Jai was gazing since she turned back.
"Bani kya huwa? Kisina kuch kaha kya? Tum ro kyu rahi ho" asked Jai trying his best to remove panic from his voice but unsuccessful.
She took a long breath to steady herself. "Kuch nahin Mr Walia jindagi ke sachae yo ka samna karne ja rahi thi"
"kya matlab?"
"Mr. Walia aap bahut achhe insan he aur aap ko bhi khushiyo ka utna hi adhikar he jitna aap dusro ko dene ki koshish karte. Bahut saal pahle zindagi ne aapse aapki kushiya chin le aur jabse main aae hu aap ki dukh aur taklif badhane ke siwae aur kuch nahin kiya lekin ab aur nahin. Me ab aap ki dukh ki wajah nahin banna chati, aap ki kushiya aur aap ki bich aur nahin aana chahati."
Getting no response from Jai Bani continued,
"Me Aap ko hamare bich ke ye bebunyadi, bina wajood ke rishta se azzad karna chahati hu. Isliye me'.. me ye ghar chodke jaa rahin hoo." Said Bani in one breath.
"Zindagi me aap jise pyar karte he uska pyaar wapas pana bahut muskil hota he Mr. Walia aur usko khoke phir se pana to sirf kuch kush nashibo ke kismet me hi hota hain lekin aap ko ye mauka mila he aur ab me aap ko is kushiyo se dur nahin karna chahti. Me aap ke aur.. So.. Sonali ji ke bich me nahin aan chahti" fresh tears starting flowing from her cheeks. She grabbed her bag and started moving towards door.
"to phir abhi kyu ja rahi ho bani? Mere khusiyo mera saath nahin dogi bani? Mere aur Sonali ke saadi attend nahin karigo tum?"
This made Bani stop in her track. He went towards Bani and turned her around.
"Main itna takleef me hu tumhe ye dihaedeta he , me dukhi hoon tumhe ye dikhae deta he, mere aakho me hamesha dukh ki parchae rehti he tumhe ye sab dekhae deti he lekin meri kushiya kisme he ye tumhe dikhae nahin deta, meri aakhe hamesha kiske liye taras te he ye tumhe samajh me nahin aata. Kyu??"
"Mr.walia.."
"ab aur nahin Bani tumhe jo kehna tha tum keh chuki ab me bolunga aur tum sunogi. Sach ye he ki tum aaj bhi mere khushiya aur sukh ki nahin balki khud ka berukhipan aur bura bartab bare me soch rahi ho aur ye guilt se nikalne kiye tum ye sab kar rahi ho.
Apne pati ko uske purane pyaar ke hawale kardu isse bada kaam ek patni ke liye aur kya hosakta he haina???
Lekin hum dono ke ye bandhanka ke bare akela fesla karne ka haq tumhe kisne diya bani? Who are you?" Jai shaked her vigorously.
He joined his forehead with her and took a long breath "Tumhe me apna pyaar jatane ke liye kya karu bani?, me tumhe ye kaise biswaas dilau ke main Sonali ya kisi aur se nahin tumse pyaar karta hu aur sayad zindagi bhar karta rahu lekin tum jana chahti hona, mujhe apne aap ko is rishte se ajaad karna chahti ho na to phir jao chali jao yaha se mujhe kabhi na kisiki jarurat padhi thi na padhegi jao." He pushed her to the door and faced other way.
Tears of happiness started flowing through her cheeks, she ran and hugged Jai form behind but he shrugged her off.
"go Bani go. I don't need u any more" but she hugged him even tighter and starting sobbing. She came in front of him and with her hands around his neck hugged him. She took his hand on her palm and kissed it, crying at the same time.
"I hate u Bani I hate ' but was cut "I love you Mr. Walia. I love you. Bahut pyaar karti hu aap se ke aapke bina jindagi soch te huwe bhi daar lagta he. I love you" Bani closed her eyes and hugged even tighter if possible.
"to phir chod ke kyu ja rahi thi?"
"sorry ab nahin aur nahin. Main apne zindagi ke harek pal aap se gujarna chahti ho, apne harek kadam aap ke sath chal na chahi hoon. I love'" she sobbed even louder.
He broke the hug and took Bani's face in between his hands, kissed her forehead "I love you", her cheeks "I love you", her nose "I love you" her jaw line " I love you" her chin "I love you" and finally her waiting lips but this time the word got mingled with their tears''''''.
Some years later,
"Chalo chalo beta rat hogae sonae chalo" said Bani patting her little daughter's bum who was lying on her dad's back and counting his push ups.
"one minute mamma one minute eighteen, nineteen'"
"umm. Krishna"
"kya mama aap kabhi twenty se badhne nahin deti"
"beta tumhari mamma jealous hena k wo push ups nahin karsakti isliye tumhe bhaga deti he"
"Mr. Walia.." said Bani in stern voice.
"Papa ko mat datiye. My papa said Krishna and kissed him and ran towards her room but came back again as she was scared of going to bed alone.
"Mamma" tugged Krishna. Bani laughed and took her to bed. After some minutes later Bani came back and lied on Jai's back who was still lying on his stomach.
"Jealous mamma" teased Jai and started doing push ups.
"one, two, three, two, three, four, five, five, three, four'. Ahhhhhhhh" shrieked Bani as Jai rolled over and came on top of her.
"Mr. Walia sorry sorry" said Bani seeing the known gleam on his face. She giggled facing other sides to prevent him to kiss her as both her hands were captivated between his but in vain. Both of them were deep into the kiss when they heard a loud knock on their door and a shout after.
"Mamma Papa" Both of them sighed joining their foreheads.
Jai had just unlock the door when Krishns pushed it hard and came running to her mamma.
"Kya huwa beta? Mera beta dar gaya?"asked Bani hugging her child.
"Ha mamma maine bahut darwana dragon ka sapna dekha"
"O mera beta." Said Jai as he joined them on the bed
"Papa? .. Papa?"
"hmm?"
"papa ek baat puchu?"
"abhi nahin beta. Kal subah"
"plz papa sirf ek"
"go on"
"papa life easy kiyu nahin he? Why isn't life simple?" asked Krishna as if being in a deep thought.
"Matlab??" asked surprised jai
"Matalab ke mujhe hamesha wo moti maths me kiyu hara deti he, me subah der tak kiyu nahin so sakti, main har roj aap ke pass kiyu nahin so sakti,'"
Bani got surprised and smiled hearing her daughter's question as it was the same question which she had asked her husband many years ago.
"Mr. Walia jindagi aasaan kiyu nahi? Why isn't life simple?"
"Matlab?"
"Matlab ke we sab kiyu huwa. Aap mujhe pehe kiyu nahin mele, Pushkar hamari zindagi me kiyu aaya, hamare beech esa kyu huwa"
"Bani ek employed man se pucho uske liye weekend kya maene rakhta he aur ek bekar aadmi se pucho. Jo din kaam karene walo ko chhuti ka, apne pariwaar walo ke saath bita na din hota he wohi din us bekar aadmi ko chubta he.
Agar hum dono bich wo sab nahin huwa hota sayad hun dono ke bich itna gehra rishta na hota, hum dono ko ek dusre ke liye itne important nahin hote.
Bani agar Zindagi aasan hoti to zindagi ke mahina hi kho jate. Sukh, dukh, hasi majak, rona, hasna wehi to zindagi he and I love my life"
Bani was brought back from her dream land by her husband voice
"ha aur rahi baat tumhari yaha hamare saath sone ki to agar aap yaha soe to aap ke liye chotasa bhai ya chotisi behen kaha se laye jo aap ne us din apni mamma se maga tha"
"Mr. Walia" Bani hit on his shoulder'''''
