O Re Piya part 5

After a steamy first meeting, what does fate hold in store for Jai and Bani? What will these two reluctant love birds think, when they find out more about each other, read on to find out.

Jai out of weakness and emotionally caught up in the moment cupped her face and gently kissed her.


ONE WEEK LATER

Jai was in his study wearing his pyjamas and nightgown, straining his all ready over worked eyes over some boring report. He closed his eyes for a few minutes and the last few days came back to him like a dream.

Flashback

Jai cursed as the taxi walla braked suddenly to let a group of school children cross the road, Bani lunged forward from the passengers seat and Jai looked into his rear view mirror to see if she was alright, Bani looked like fresh morning dew, all pristine and innocent, the kiss they shared flashed in his memory again like a burning ember of flame, remembering the feel of her skin, her luscious hair twinned in his finger tips and the taste of her lips on his, he continued to day dream and stare in to the mirror.

"BOY this is getting dangerous", thought Jai.

BEEP, BEEP

"Tum teek to ho", said Bani.

Jai peeled his eyes off the rear view mirror and looked ahead, the taxi walla had sped off and was no longer in his way, in fact he was holding up traffic.

Sitting in the air-conditioned comfort of the back seat, Bani saw Mumbai in a blur going past her passenger window; she remembered Pia's words.

"Di, you have to go to the gateway of India and Film city and of course Juhu beach, and take pictures..... erm take lots and send them to me so I can show off to all my friends and to the guests in the guesthouse", Pia beamed with pride.

Bani suddenly felt lonely and out of place, as much as she loved Dadi and Masi, she felt as if perhaps staying in Walia mansion was too big a leap for a small town girl like her.

Jai was concentrating on the road ahead but when they got to the gates of Walia mansion he looked up to see Bani frowning, remembering Masi telling him that she was very close to her step sisters he said in a reassuring voice.

"Don't worry we don't bite in Walia mansion, I can vouch for everyone apart from my sister Jigyasa and my cousin Karuna, take my advice and stay out of their way and another thing Bani, *COUGH*, best not mention what happened at the station to anyone"

Bani's eye's sparkled mischievously when they saw Jai's face turn hot with embarrassment; Jai noticed she was smiling knowingly.

'I promise, as long as you promise not to either', and putting her hand forward, she said.

'Aapko ek pari promise karna parega',even the puzzled look Jai's face made him look cute mused Bani.

'My Nanaji is fond of telling me that my mother used to say it to my father before I was born, if he ever got in trouble, she would make him swear a pari promise, Mama always believed that pari's lived in the star's and came down to earth in the form of children, she believed I was her special pari sent down from the star's......'

Bani suddenly stopped and looked pale as if all the sunshine had gone from her face.

Both arguing over who should go first, that they didn't even notice the puja ki tali being circled around them till Masi showered them with petals and offered them prasad.

Jai expected a big reaction from Masi and Dadi and lots of hint's and comments like always about marriage and the usual leg pulling by his friend Aditya, but he was pleasantly surprised, Masi ignored him and fussed over Bani, Dadi looked over the moon and kept on firing questions at Bani about such and such person. Jai felt left out, they weren't doing it on purpose, but he felt a little neglected by his family. Rashi noticed the look of totally dejection on Jai's face and winked at her father in law and him in turn to Dadi and Masi who increased their attention on Bani 10 fold.

That evening after resting for a few hours and phoning home, Bani walked down the elegant winding stairs to dinner, to her surprise dinner had already started and the whole of the family was there, Bani decided it was best not to disturb them and headed back upstairs, when Masi called out.

'Beta aap kaha ja rahe ho, hum sab tumhara he intezaar kar re hai, aaja varna Nishket phook se maar jayega'

Bani felt embarrassed but didn't show it as she sat on the only available seat between Masi and Dadi and directly opposite Jai, Bani enjoyed dinner the food was great but the company better, Nishket was telling Vidya and his wife silly jokes, Masi and Dadi giggling with Rashi, who Bani liked immensely and Aditya was deep in conversation with his son Ranveer. Only Jai and Bani were silent, Bani pushed the food on her plate around not really eating much, the feeling of homesickness getting worse, Jai didn't fail to notice, silently they both kept stealing glances at each other. Finally after a few more minutes Bani sighed folded her napkin and made her excuses to leave.

Rummaging through her suitcase, Bani took out her things and laid them out the room, her photo of Nanaji with her sisters on her bedside table, her small collection of clothes in the wardrobe and her toiletries scattered in the en-suite, lastly she took out a picture of her mother and father with garlands on, she hung it opposite a dresser which had a small ganpati statue, diya, small ghantee and some incense sticks. Bani smiled feeling more at home. Quickly changing into her night gown and dressing gown she unplat her long silky mane of hair and feeling bored decided to walk up tot the terrace. Bani being absent minded, left her glasses behind and walked the steep steps carefully till she reached the moonlit terrace.

To her surprise she found Jai there, staring at the sky, joining him she stayed silent and they both just stood together, neither feeling the need to make small talk or say anything in particular, just being together and drinking in the view. Jai sighed a deep contended sigh of satisfaction, while Bani still looked on, smiling he looked at her and his heart melted like soft wax, Bani looked ethereal, the moonlight making her skin glow, her dark mane swaying in the breeze and the look of complete innocence had him floored. She did indeed look like a pari. Jai couldn't help but grab her wrist gently and bring her close.

Bani snapped out of her daze and looked confused at his actions; her puzzled looked entranced Jai more and he softly pushed back the hair blowing in her face, Bani avoided his gaze and tired to struggle free from his grip on her, Jai held on tighter and Bani froze, sensing Jai moving closer she titled her head defiantly to meet his gaze, Jai took the opportunity to stroke her cheek gently, Bani shivered.

Jai liked her reactions to him and pulled her even closer, looking at her with all the intensity of a man in love Jai whispered seductively 'Stop staring at me with those eyes varna I will kiss you again'.

Bani blushed and avoided his intense glare, biting her lower lip she fought back a sudden urge to let him kiss her, lowering her gaze she struggled a bit more to try and loosen Jai's grip on her, failing miserable to hide her feelings, she stopped struggling and blushed some more, meeting Jai's gaze again she said,

'I don't know what's going on between us Mr Walia, but I think it would be best if I moved out, I can't stay here if you keep staring at me like that'.

'Don't worry Bani, I will stay out of your way, if you want me too and as long as you do too and as for what's going on between us only time will tell', said Jai mischievously, and taking Bani's hands kissed them.

Bani snatched her hand back as soon as his grip become loose and ran down the stairs like the wind, Jai stood there alone again in the dark, suddenly the heavens opened and he become drenched in the unseasonal rain, but even that didn't cool the fire in his heart.

Jai snapped out of his dream and looked around he was still in the study, he sighed sadly, five days and he hadn't seen his Bani. He knew she was around Walia mansion some were, every time he came home from work he could smell, the same white lilies he smelt on her the first time they met. He had even started coming home early from work so that he could try and catch a glimpse of her, but to no avail. The wait was killing him and god damn it, tomorrow was Sunday and she had no choice but to see him.

Sorry everyone for making you wait again but I was supposed to post this on Friday but I become very unwell, I have tried over the weekend to type this up slowly and have finally finished, I'm feeling a lot better but if this update is full of mistakes then please forgive me and thanks to all the comments to my preview so nice to see so many old readers and to any new readers please feel free to post comments too, it won't take long and really makes me want to update sooner.

Arre ye kya Love at first sight it seems! Bani's feelings were very well shown....what Pia asked her to do, her homesickness, her arranging the room like her own, remembering the Pari promise thing and then feeling bad for sharing memories of her parents to a stranger and finally the 'kuch kuch hota hai' between her and Jay!

We are also waiting for that Sunday to come 😉😃

btw what happened to you? hope you are taking right medicines at right time!!
