He smiled at her and it looked genuine enough, only she knew this man and he didn't genuinely smile unless something was going his way. This was what he had wanted and she had walked right into it. Well nothing could be done. She was here now and that was that.
He got up and came to stand in front of her, "Good to see you again Miss Dixit."
"There's nothing good about seeing you Mr. Walia," she continued in her righteous anger.
"I am a little surprised it took you so long."
"What are you playing at Mr. Walia? One would think you learned your lesson the last time we saw each other."
He smiled at that and raised a hand to his cheek, "Oh I remember."
She gave him a wary look, "I know you well enough to know that everything you do has a reason behind it and you never give anything for free, so what is this?'
He raised a brow with an amused smile. She was intuitive and a good observer and one that would not be easily fooled.
"I know there is no fooling you is there?" he asked.
"I didn't come here to play games," she snapped, "Stop sending me flowers, okay? If I want to have a rose garden or whatever the hell kind of garden those flowers came from, I'll get the number of the nursery from you. I ask you one last time to leave me the hell alone. I don't work for you any more so please, leave me be."
"But I can't," he said simply.
The frankness on his face caught her off guard, "What?"
"You see Miss Dixit, you have done the impossible," he said, taking a step back from her as if to see all of her, "You got my attention."
"Are you alright?" she said incredulously, "I have been right here, right here the whole time in front of you and after I hit you I finally get noticed?! How crazy are you?"
He acted like he was thinking, "By most people's standards, I'd say very."
She let out her breath in a huff and glared at him, "Leave me alone Mr. Walia."
"I wish I could," he said, a weird look entering his eyes, "But what can I say? You… have… got my attention."
His hand was playing with a little strand of her hair and she slapped it away, "I'm going to walk away now, and I am going to never hear from you again. Is that clear?"
She turned and stomped out of the office the same way she came in. When she got in the hallway, she took a deep calming breath, mentally patting herself on the back and then going to see her friends. She headed for Ranveer's office first.
"Hey buddy!" she called.
"Hey, how are you?" he jumped up and hugged her.
"You are looking good."
"Well some of us know how to take care of us," he said, making a gesture in show of a job well done, and then he frowned, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to tell that predator of an Uncle of yours off," she plopped unto the couch.
"What?" Ranveer stared at her.
"The man sent me a garden," she said.
"Huh?"
"He sent me a rose bush… my…my house is full… full of flowers….roses!" she was getting agitated now, "Can you believe the nerve of that man? Like I didn't already know the kind of person a he is."
"He sent you flowers?" Ranveer was puzzled.
"A forest of them," she said relaxing in her chair.
"That's a first," Ranveer raised a brow.
"For what?"
"That's not the kind of story we hear around here," Ranveer said.
"That's cos there isn't going to be one," she said emphatically.
"And what's going to happen to the way you feel about him?" he asked watching her closely.
She shrugged, "It'll take care of itself. He already gave me a big push in that regard."
The door opened and Kaveri entered, "What the hell was that all about?"
Bani shrugged, "I'm sorry dear, I was really mad at the time. How are you?"
"I'm fine, forget that," Kaveri took the seat opposite her, "What happened?"
"I came to yell at your boss for sending me flowers by the bushes," Bani said.
"I don't believe this," Kaveri said, "You humiliate him and he sends you flowers?"
"Must be something in my hands," she said, giving her hands a considering look.
"Wow, maybe I should hit him too," Kaveri said.
"Wouldn't do that if I were you," Ranveer said.
"But the thought is tempting," Kaveri said, mischievous smile in place.
"What's it been like?" Bani asked.
"Well," Kaveri said, "Everyone was avoiding him the first few days after it all happened but he never quite did anything out of the ordinary. Quite like nothing happened."
"Mhmm, good for you guys," Bani said.
"What are you doing now?" Ranveer asked.
"Nothing, just lazing around," she said, "I'll join my Dad in a few weeks at our offices."
"How is your sister doing now?" Kaveri asked.
"She's much better," Bani beamed, "Her Doctor has a huge crush on her."
"Does he now?" Ranveer was highly amused, "You parents must be the happiest people on earth. The Deb family is amazing."
"You do not have to tell me that," Bani smiled, "I'm so happy for her."
"And you? What happens to you?" Kaveri asked.
"I'll take care of me," she said, "And now, I gotta go. It was nice meeting you and I hope we meet under better circumstances next time."
"Heard that," Kaveri said, "Each time you show up here there's some kind of drama. I mean I knew you were going to spice things up here, but this much?"
"Walk me out guys," she said, heading for the door.
They did walk her out and to the elevator, "You take care of yourselves okay?"
"You take care of you," Ranveer hugged her.
She was about to get on the elevator when she turned and saw Jai down the hallway, staring at her as he leaned casually against the wall, watching her through hooded eyes, arms folded across his chest. She made a face at him and got on the elevator.
Kaveri followed her action and on seeing Jai said, "I think I'll go down with you."
She bailed into the elevator and Ranveer smirked, "That's right, leave me to do the heavy lifting."
"He's your Uncle," Kaveri said as the doors slid closed.
"Chicken," Bani said, laughing.
"I can tell you I still love my job," she said as the elevator began its decent.
Jai went back to his office without a glance at anybody. He knew they were watching and he wanted them to see. This was what he had expected, but not that her anger would get in the way of what he had planned. Yes, he wanted her …. but this time for purely different reasons. She had looked amazing, her eyes flashing, her tiny nostrils flaring. To be able to elicit that kind of anger, that kind of emotion… he smiled, staring out the window of his office.
THREE DAYS LATER……………..
Rano sat perched on the edge of the bed in the examination room watching as Doctor Deb entered findings in her chart. She watched his slightly bowed head and the concentration on his face. He wore glasses sometimes and that made him cuter than the next man. He was your classic good looking guy, beautiful grey eyes, perfect smile that showed off gleaming white teeth and his skin with a bronzed, making the contrast evening more pronounced. Yes, he was a beautiful man….
"So, anything broken?" she asked swinging her legs back and forth.
He smiled, "I'm yet to find out if you've been swinging from chandeliers instead of resting those bones."
A mischievous smile crossed her face, "Swinging from chandeliers?"
His head shot up and then slowly he turned widened eyes on her, to see her wiggle her eyebrows suggestively. An embarrassed smile and she dared say a little ting appeared on his cheeks.
"You are impossible," he said, shaking his head and going back to writing in her chart.
"That's what my Mother always says," she said flippantly, loving the way he acted all shy and embarrassed.
"Alright," he swiveled around in the chair and got up, "Take the gown up."
"What?" Rano was thrown.
He smiled at that, "You didn't think I would examine you through the robe now did you?"
Her expression told him she had indeed expected that and he began to chuckle. The girl was funny.
"Come on, take it off or push it up," he said, "Either way, I can promise you I have seen it all. Unless you have something hidden in there you'd rather I didn't see."
It was her turn to color and avert her gaze. Self consciously she took the sleeves of the hospital gown and tugged on it and the loose robe fell away. Her bandaged midriff was exposed, but that was not all that was exposed.
The gown fell away and Aparajit was confronted with the most daring sight he had seen in a long time. His mouth fell open at the sheer lacy concoction that was supposed to be her bra, leave alone what they cupped.
Under his intense gaze Rano blushed furiously and shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. She mentally kicked herself for wearing that bra when she knew very well she was coming for an exam. Lord his eyes were boring holes in her skin!
"Well?" she managed to get out.
He snapped out of it and cleared his throat self consciously, "I'm sorry. Let me…"
He extended his hand to touch her waist and upon contact of his fingers with her skin she jumped and sucked in her breath, her eyes widening in surprise. He had quickly withdrawn his hand, his face first surprised and then concerned.
"Does it hurt?" he asked, frowning in concern.
She shook her head almost imperceptively, her eyes never leaving his face and certainly not trusting herself to speak.
He adjusted the glasses on his nose, avoiding her gaze he said in a voice that shook slightly, "Hold still."
She held her breath and her stomach knotted involuntarily in anticipation of his second touch, seeing what the first one had done to both of them.
He took a pair of scissors this time and proceeded to cut the bandage and slowly begin to unwrap it from her middle. When that was done he slowly began to prod the tender flash that had slight red marks from how tightly the bandages had been wrapped to quicken the healing process.
After the initial shock of all he was confronted with Aparajit finally slipped into Doctor mode, and soon he was laying her on her back, examining her stomach for sensitive spots or unusual aches. Finally the exam was over.
"All done," Aparajit said said, taking off his glasses and smiling all doctor-like at her.
She sat up and pulled the robe in front of her while he returned to writing down observations in her chart. She wanted to speak but couldn't come up with what to say. This was crazy, they had gone from laughing to joking to straight up tension and it still hung thick in the air! While his back was turned she pulled on her tunic top as fast as possible to avoid him staring at her the way he had earlier.
"Seems to me like you're well out of the woods," he said, turning to find she was now fully clothed.
"Good," she said, eyes on the floor as she tied the rope at the top of her tunic.
He knew she was as surprised as he was about what had happened a few minutes ago. He watched her hair fall like a curtain to shield her face from view. It was like a dream when he had first cleaned up her wounds after her accident to see the most innocent face he had ever seen. And now when he looked at her, he was completely blown away. There was no need denying that they were both attracted to each other if what just happened was anything to go by.
"I'll prescribe some pain killers in case you feel any odd pains, but if they persist then you call me. Alright?" he held out a prescription paper to her.
She finally looked up and he noticed the deep blush on her cheeks. She had a beautiful blush, he noted in amusement. She took the paper from him and got off the table. They stood facing each other, wondering what to do next. A sudden rap on the door caused them both to jump.
Bani popped her head in around the door, "What is taking so long?"
She watched both of them avoiding each other's gazes and shifting uncomfortably. She frowned wondering what on earth was wrong with these two. But on seeing the hot pink on Rano's face, she smiled. A really big smile!
"Sorry I asked," her voice heavy with hidden meaning and she disappeared again, closing the door behind her. The sound of her laughter carried through the door causing Rano to blush further.
She slapped Aparajit's armwith her good arm, "Now look what you did. I'll never hear the end of that one!"
"Me?" he asked incredulously, "What did I do?"
She threw up her hands and stormed out of the room, leaving a surprised but amused Aparajit behind her.
Bani waited for Rano in the reception, a wicked smile on her face as she approached in a huff.
"So, tell me all."
"Do not start with me," Rano glared at her.
"Oh come on, it's my turn to give you grief," Bani said in a playful but mocking tone, "I want to know what had you both…. Doctor Deb!"
Rano jumped and whirled around to see him approaching, hands in pocket ,doctor mode on full blast.
"Are you all done?" he asked.
"Mhmm," Bani said, a knowing look on her face, "When is our next visit?"
"Not for another few days to see whether or not we can take off the cast," he said, then with a deep breath, "I think we are done for today."
"Mhmm, me and you both," Bani said, rolling her eyes, "Okay kiddies, let's go! Bye Doctor!"
"Bye, he nodded at both girls as they walked out the door.
He watched until they disappeared round the corner and finally turned to see the nurses at the station snickering and giggling behind their hands. For once he didn't kind at all. Some of them had tried and tried to get him to notice them, from bringing him lunch to dropping notes on his desk and flat out flirting with him outrageously. He had taken it in his stride and viewed it all as a nuisance and nothing more. Well now at least he had a focus… if only the crazy girl would let him figure out a way to keep seeing her once she was no longer his patient.
Contentedly, he shoved his hand back in his pocket and headed back to his office.
Bani was a little miffed as Rano had remained tight lipped about what had gone on in the exam room, refusing to believe Rano would cut her off. Worse still, her mother was in hyper mode, forcing her to do kitchen work.
"What are we cooking for any way?" Bani asked irritably, chopping at tomatoes with the precision of a surgeon and the speed of a chef, "I mean there's only four of us."
"Sometimes, we have guests," Kiran said, "Hurry on the tomatoes will you?"
"I would, but I've only got two hands," she said, showing her hands and waving the knife around, "This better be the Prime Minister for which you have me in the kitchen and are not letting the servants do the cooking."
"I think on some level that would be a good description," her mother said with a semi thoughtful expression on her face.
"Who is it?" Bani asked for the umpteenth time.
"You'll find out soon enough now keep chopping," her mother scolded.
Bani pulled the knife playfully behind her back, causing the servants to smile at her. It was the regular drama between mother and daughter when they were in the kitchen together.
"Right now I wish I hadn't come home early," Bani complained.
Later on that evening Kiran insisted that Bani put on something more presentable than shorts and a T-shirt. That had brought on another bout of whining and complaining and finally she had pulled on jeans and a tank top and headed down to dinner, wanting to see who her mother had invited to dinner. She had just relaxed in the huge puff off to the side in the living room when the door bell rang.
The door opened and Krishna Walia entered. Bani jumped up and ran to greet her.
"Welcome Aunty," she hugged Krishna who she had to admit she had not seen in a while.
"Good evening my dear, how are you?" Krishna asked her, holding her at arm's length.
"I have been better but I'm doing ok."
"Hello Bani."
A deep male voice said from behind her and she whirled around to find him standing there. In the flesh, Jai Walia was standing before her in her house!! What the hell was he doing here?
Her mother came up behind her and whispered in her ear, "Aren't you glad you weren't in shorts now?"
She turned to look at her mother with total shock and disbelief on her face. What was going on?
"How are you tonight?" he was standing in front of her.
She just looked at him, her expression blank. For the life of her she didn't know how to react. I mean it was one thing to see this man at work and something else for him to walk into her house as though he owned it.
She didn't reply and he held out the flowers in his hands, "These are for you."
Her mother materialized at her side and nudged her. Woodenly she extended her hands and took the bouquet from him. White lilies, she noted. No roses. She slowly turned and walked back to the kitchen to put them in a vase, her thoughts going a mile a second. Rano was right behind her.
"Uhhh, Walia in the house," she sang, trying not to move to fast as to cause her to feel pain.
Bani was silent then turned on her, asking quietly, "Did you know he was coming here tonight?"
"How could I possibly know that?" she asked with a frown, "Mum probably didn't tell you because she knew you'd pull a Houdini on her."
"What is he doing here?" Bani mused, "What is he up to now?"
"Bani Didi, not everything has some dark secret plot behind it," Rano said, "Now come, before they think you've climbed out the window."
Bani squared her shoulders and walked back out, a cool, defiant look on her face. Whatever he was here for, she would not let him succeed.
Jai watched Bani emerge from the kitchen and knew his surprise play had had the desired effect. She was unsettled, flustered but she was still alert. She looked so beautiful in her simple jeans. All her contours, every curve, every crevice and hollow were beautifully outlined. Her face was fresh with no make up but she looked exquisite all the same. She came and perched herself on the couch, her look regal. She was not going to let him easily sucker her, he could clearly see that. This woman enthralled him. She was like no one he had ever encountered. He smiled openly at her.
"How are you doing now Miss Dixit?" he directed the question at Rano.
Slightly taken aback, "Me? Oh… well I'm fine. Better actually."
"Good. I'm glad," he said, turning to Kiran, "I can't imagine what that must have been like."
"The horror," Kiran said, making a face, "And this one? All she did was bother the poor Doctor."
"He did not look like he knew what he was doing at first," Bani defended herself, "He is quite young you know. Not to mention too good looking for his own good."
Jai flicked a glance to her at that, but said nothing though his fingers flexed on his thigh, something Rano did not miss at all with her hawk eyes. She knew Jai Walia had come here more for her sister than for anything else. She just couldn't figure out what the man was up to right now.
"Besides, right now, I would cut myself if only to get treated by him," she said, making a dreamy face.
"Bani!" her mother hissed.
"What? It's true," she said, taking a glass from the tray the servant put in front of her.
"I hear Mr.Dixit is out of town on business," Jai said conversationally.
"Yes he is," Kiran answered, "Some business men's forum of sorts."
"I wonder what they get up to there," Krishna spoke for the first time as she had been watching her son and his reaction to Bani's statements.
"Well one thing I know is I would be bored to death," Kiran said, "It's bad enough when I don't understand half the things he says when he's at home. Imagine being in a place where everyone is speaking the same language except you!"
Jai laughed softly, "I can imagine what that would be like."
"So, what brings you here?" Bani asked pointedly.
"Bani!" Kiran hissed, a disapproving frown on her face.
"It's okay Mrs. Dixit," Jai said, setting his glass down and facing Bani squarely, "I think Bani knows exactly why I'm here."
"I don't think I do Sir," she said the last part with heavy sarcasm, "Enlighten me."
Kiran looked helplessly at Krishna who was trying to hide a huge smile behind her glass. Rano was practically leaning forward in her seat listening to these two go at it.
"I came for you Bani," he said, his voice taking on a simple yet seductive tone, "Only you."
Bani paled at his open seduction, not caring that they were right in front of her family and his mother for heaven's sake. His mother! Had he no shame? Resolutely she crossed her arms and looked him in the eye.
"I'm sorry Mr. Walia," she said, her own voice taking on a coy tone, "But you can't have me."
Kiran's eyes were as wide as saucers and Rano was grinning from ear to ear while Krishna could no longer hide her full blown smile.
"I can be a very persistent man," Jai's smile was goading.
"I can tell you confidently, even I can be unbending," she said, the open challenge in her eyes.
"Want to bet on that?" he asked.
"Name the price," Bani raised her leg and crossed it over her left, noting fully well that his eyes followed the movement.
"Dinner!" Kiran said quickly interrupting them to put an end to this madness.
"Ma! They were getting to the good part!" Rano whined.
"Behave yourself," Kiran scolded, cursing her fate for having two out of control daughters.
They all rose in unison and headed for the dining area where the food was being laid out. Bani was walking ahead of Jai and his hand reached out and caught her arm.
He whispered in her ear, "I have a feeling this is going to be one interesting night."
She whispered back, "Count on it."
He smiled at her. It was a genuine smile this time, as he looked like he was enjoying himself. Rano on seeing that her sister was angling to sit adjacent Jai, she hurried around the table, claiming she had to sit next to Kiran so she could help her put food on her plate. Bani shot her daggers as she took her seat next to Jai. She noted his amused smile but pointedly ignored it.
Her nostrils filled with the distinct smell of his cologne and aftershave. She wasn't going let him get to her again. No way was that going to happen. Jai on the other hand noticed every shift and change in her body language and smiled inwardly.
Dinner was an interesting affair, Bani and Jai sparring with each other every chance they got. From world politics to business deals and people skills which she more than laid in to him on.
"I want to understand this Jai, what would drive you for the fun of it, to ruin everything that a man has worked for his entire life?" she ripped into him.
"Is there any point in asking you to be civil?" Kiran asked tiredly, after countless attempts to try to get Bani to not be so direct.
Jai smiled indulgently, "It's really okay Mrs. Dixit. Bani and I understand each other. It's part of the reason why we worked so well together."
"Did we?" Bani asked, screwing her face up as if trying to recall something, "I don't think so. I quit, remember?"
"Indeed," Jai said, dabbing at the corners of his mouth with the napkin.
"I believe your exact words were…"
"Spoken in anger," he interrupted her, turning so that he faced her, "Words for which I sincerely apologize."
Bani froze, and then a few seconds later a slow smile broke out on her face. So that was why he came here tonight? Become the saint.
"Bani?" her mother called softly, "The man is apologizing. Say something."
She turned to her mother, "He did apologize didn't he?"
"Yes, that means you win," Rano said.
"Shhh!" Kiran shushed her.
Bani turned to Jai, "I accept your apology Jai, on one condition."
"Anything," he said, "Except stay away from you."
"Then we have a problem Mr. Walia," she said, turning to pick her glass of water and take a tentative sip, "Because that is the one thing I want."
"We could come to a compromise," he said, rising from the table, "Walk with me? You could show me what you did with the rose garden I sent you."
He had risen and was holding his hand out to her in a challenge, daring her to back out of coming with him. He saw that she knew exactly what he was doing but decided to humor him.
"Why not?" she said, with a bright smile, "But a moment's warning, I don't compromise."
"That remains to be seen," Jai said, then turning to the other women, "Excuse us ladies."
Bani led him towards the garden out back, her back ramrod straight. This evening was a particularly trying one.
Krishna turned to Kiran, "So they are both a little brazen. Kids these days are."
"I don't know how you stand it," Kiran said, sighing deeply.
"You two chased them away," Rano quipped, "That was so much better than pay per view!"
"You are so annoying," Kiran said to her daughter, causing Krishna to laugh.
"I just hope those two don't kill each other," Rano said, then a mischievous smile flashed across her face, "Or worse still, do something else!"
Kiran picked up a pillow to throw at her and Rano screamed.
"Broken arm! Broken arm!"
Kiran angrily put down the pillow and glared at her while Krishna Walia laughed at the two of them.
Outside, Jai watched as Bani sat and made herself comfortable in one of the garden chairs. She was ready to do battle.
"Relax Bani, I'm not here to bite," he said.
"Gee, that makes me feel so much better," Bani said, sarcasm lacing her words again.
He lowered his large frame into the chair beside her, "It actually is good to see you."
"I saw you a few days ago Jai, under not so good circumstances I might add and still you come to my house. I thought I told you to stay away from me?"
"That you did," he said in acknowledgement, "But I made no promises."
She shook her head in disbelief then decided to say nothing. He wanted to talk, let him. She would say nothing to encourage him.
After what seemed like an eternity, he said softly, "Come back to work."
"What?!"
"Come back," he turned to face her, his face serious.
"You have got to be kidding me," Bani gave off a disbelieving laugh, "Are you out of your mind?"
"Not at all," he said, turning back to look ahead of him again, "I want you back at the office."
She smiled sweetly and made like she was explaining to a small child, "You see Jai, in a perfect world, your word would be law. Why? Because you are Jai Walia. But this is an imperfect world Jai, and your word is not law. I do not want to come back to work in your company as I feel it was a mistake to even do so in the first…"
"Don't!"
The force with which he whirled on her shocked her into silence, her eyes widening in surprise as she studied his face. Now what was his problem? Why did he look like it affected him that she had called her time there a mistake?
"You can come at me all you want, but never disrespect what the company stands for. Never act like we were a bunch of devils you had to put up with for the six months you were with us. I will not allow it."
Her face was perfectly innocent when she answered, "But you cannot deny you turned out to be a bit of a devil Mr. Walia."
He looked at her. One more thing about this woman, she did not scare easily. He had not known that about her. Every other woman always did his bidding or he made them do his bidding. This woman was turning out to be everything he had not encountered before, or if he had, it was a memory too distant to remember.
"I see," he said, turning and relaxing, lacing his fingers behind his head.
Bani watched his action and vividly remembered the last time she had seen him like that. That was the day he had almost kissed her, and she had almost let him. She looked up at him to find him looking at her with a knowing look in his eye that told her he knew exactly what she was thinking about.
"Pretty hard to forget something like that huh?" he asked.
She was quiet for a few seconds, her eyes not wavering form him, "No, it isn't. Another reason why I cannot come back to work for you."
"And if I promised not to come after you?"
"The man wants to make a promise?" Bani raised a brow.
"Yes," he sat up, "I will not come after you and will not bother you."
She gave him a funny look.
"Okay, I will do my best not to bother you," he corrected, his famous mischievous smile playing on his lips.
If she was honest with herself, and she was, that smile made her heart flutter and her pulse quicken. She certainly hoped he did not see the erratic telltale evidence on her throat where her pulse was indeed pulsating erratically.
"Will you leave me alone if I promise to think about it and eventually say no?" she asked.
He laughed at her suggestion, "No Bani. I really want you back at the office."
"For what Jai?" she asked seriously, "Is that how you want to punish me for hitting you?"
He looked serious for a while, "I think I need a reminder the next time I decide to go off on someone without good cause."
"Come on, surely you can do better than that," Bani snickered.
"I just think for the first time someone did what no other person would dare do," he said frankly, turning to look at her levelly, "And frankly, that is one hell of a turn on."
It took several moments for what he said to sink in, then she was blushing furiously, unable to control the rush of blood to her face. She averted her gaze while the gentle breeze played with her hair.
"That is not a proper thing to say," she said finally.
"But it's a true thing," he said, his voice going all soft and seductive.
She eyed him warily and then at the look in his eyes jumped to her feet, "We'd better be getting back. They might think we killed each other."
"Not that that would be a bad thing," he said, smiling knowingly at her.
"Yeah," she said and turned on her heels and started back to the house leaving him behind.
Jai watched her walk away. He smiled, it was a good smile as he was actually proud of her. She hadn't let him yank her around at all. She had faced him off every time he tried to box her into a corner. This was a different species of woman. He had truly enjoying himself tonight. She hadn't given him much to go on, but he knew he would have her thinking tonight. Not just about the job offer, but about him. Her body language gave that away. All in all, he was looking forward to what the future held.
Slowly, he got up and went into the house.
OKAY GUYS, MY BACK HURTS, MY NECK HURTS, AND I HAVE TO GET SOME SLEEP!!!
HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS PART!!
