Incredible start Sheena!. I was nostalgic of the bygone era, where we would also ride bullock carts and fly kites. You would be surprised, bullock carts have all but disappered now 😡 . I took my kids to our village this summer, just to show them how I grew up. The carts we replaced with the ubiquitous autoriskshaws.
I still remember when all of us cousins would go to our village in summer & dasera hols and play all day long in the open fields and sleep out in the open under the sparkly sky. Those were the days😍 . Thanks for bringing back those memories. 👏 👏 👏

It's been almost 10 years since I have been to my grandfather(s)'s villages, I miss them too, we did the same, slept under the starry sky in the open, heard the most horrific stories too..I hope I brought good memories back!

Reading the story and all the other comments gets me nostalgic too..one of our fave picnic spots as kids was climbing on top of huge haystacks and eating our "sev-mamra" (bhel mix, as u probably know)...

Bina, yeah - I will incorporate some of the things in this rural setting, the Bhel part I didn't know, but sliding dow n the haystacks I do...when I wrote this, my son was reading couple of the first paragraphs, and his interest perked up, he actually wanted to read what I write... 😆 😆
