And then he bent his head towards hers, she parted her lips in invitations and soon as his lips touched hers she closed her eyes. Bani wrapped one hand around his neck, and the other found his hair, while she kissed him back.

Between kisses Jai managed to whisper 'I love you..' and brought Bani back to reality... Bani what are you doing.
She suddenly jerked away, 'Uh.. I.. that shouldn't have happened. This is all wrong. You should just leave now.'
Jai rolled off the bed and stood up,Was he imagining it? Or did she kiss him back? And now she's saying Sorry? Something in Jai snapped and he walked out of the room with a curt, 'I'm sorry aswell,'
The next few days, Bani avoided Jai and Jai did the same. He only talked to her when it was necessary. He would bring her medicines and food to her room, but otherwise would stay away. Jai remembered a quote he had read somewhere 'If you really love someone, set them free, if they come back, it was meant to be.'
Lets see how much these people know! Jai was determined to leave Bani as it was, he had tried his hardest, looked after her and was nice to her, now enough was enough.

Bani was in a state of confusion, That kiss shouldn't have happened. But it felt so right.. but it's wrong…he loves you… I DON'T love him!... who are you trying to fool? You know he's made a special place in your heart.. no he hasn't.. he's just being nice. Bani fought her inner demons constantly.

Bani hated the fact that Jai had stopped talking to her, she had tried saying osrry lots of times and he had just asked 'What for..?..' and that the confusing thing, she didn't know what she was saying sorry for...For rejecting his love? For breaking his heart?
It was nearly two weeks later, Bani;s chickenpox had disappeared and a doctor was coming to give the all clear. She was sitting in the living room watching Star Plus, some serial was coming, but she wasn't concentrating. She was too busy thinking of Jai!!!
The doorbell rang and before she could even get up, Jai was already striding towards the door and let in the doctor. Ban noticed it was a different doctor from last time…(Sorry Taz! You're busy with another patient!!)
She introduced herself as Doctor Davia and then went on to examine Bani. Jai stood in a corner and watched them. After a few questions, 'You're perfectly fine.. you're survived chickenpox without a scar!' she beamed.
'You've taken good care of your wife,' she said to Jai.
'We're not married..' This time it was not Bani, but Jai who said this. Bani felt as if her heart had been pierced. Why do you care Bani?? You're the one who said no.. why is it hurting you now?
'Oh, I'm so sorry,' Dr Davia corrected herself. She could sense the tension between them, and wondered what was wrong.
A knock distracted them all, Bani looked towards the large window and saw Pushkar asking if everything was ok, Jai nodded his head and let him and the two children in.
The children hugged their father's leg and started asking how he was and how much they missed him and today they wanted to sleep on his bed. Jai agreed to his children's demands and hugged them tight. 'Yes.. baba.. you can both sleep with me..'
Bani smiled at the family re-union. The kids then noticed the doctor and Bani..
'Kya hua?' ( what happened?) asked Krishna..
'Kuch nahi.. aunty bimaar thin a.. ab tikh ho gaye hain.' (nothing, aunty was ill, but she's better now)
'Oh..'
'Arthva went up to Davia, 'who are you?'
'I'm Dr. Davia.. who are you?' she asked with a smile.
'Arthva Jai Walia.. and you're a doctor.. wow! Pata hai jab main bara hoon gat oh main bhi Dr bano ga!' he stated proudly.
'really? Wow.. well good luck to you sweetie..'
And Arthva went on to question Dr. Davia about how to become a doctor and what she did and whether it was fun to be one, etc. By the end of the question, answer session, Davia was recovering from the after-effects! The amount of questions he asks!!
Just as he was about to ask another, she interrupted him, 'Actually, I have to go now.. so..'
'Oh .. yes.. yes .. of course..' Bani stood up and showed her to the door.
She came back and saw Krishna and Arthva sitting on the sofa swinging their legs, with big wide grins looking at her. She looked at them suspiciously, and then looked around for Jai and Pushkar. She heard them talking in the kitchen, but not wanting to face either of them, she sat on the sofa opposite the children, who were still grinning at her!
'What?' she asked
They giggled.(hehe) and still looked at her.
'Kya hua?' she asked now with a smile, their big grins were contagious!
'Kuch nahi..' replied Krishna in a sing song voice.
'We know a secret… ' she then then said.
Arthva nodded in agreement. 'Really?' asked Bani. They're so cute!
They both nodded again..
'Muhje bhi batao'.(tell me aswell)
'Pata hai.. ki app humari m..'
Krishna at once put her hand in front of Arthva's mouth..
'Shhh.. it's a secret.. Unlce said so..' she was whispering, but loud enough to be heard by Bani.
Bani stared at them, curious. It had something to do with her, but what.Maybe they're just saying that.. Hmm… But Bani wanted to know what they were going to say.
'Come on.. you can tell me.. Pushkar Uncle won't know.'
The kids contemplated, it was true! Pushkar Uncle wouldn't find out, but they still looked a bit dubious! They had promised him they wouldn't tell anyone.
Bani looked at their expressions and then said, 'I'll give you chocolates..'
All thoughts of promises flew straight out of the window. 'Promise?' they asked excitedly.
'Ok.. they went to the sofa on which Bani was on, and sat, one on each side.
'Main bataunga' said Arthva (I'll tell her)
'Nahi.. main bataungi..' his sister replied. (no, I'll tell her)
'Nahi.. main..'
'Main'
Bani looked at both of them, when suddenly Pushkar entered. 'What's happening here?' he was surprised to see both the children sitting with Bani. Maybe I've come in to a parallel universe!! Maybe the medicines haven't worn off yet.. he thought chuckling!
He heard the children and suddenly a fear gripped him.. 'Uh..' he cleared his throt and the three looked at him. The children looked guiltily at him! I should not have told them!
Bani looked disappointed.. the children stood up when they saw their father come in. 'Chalien?' the children nodded. Kissed Bani simultaneously and left with a 'Good Night'. Jai just nodded to Pushkar, as she saw him leave, she suddenly stood.
'Um. Jai?' he looked at her..
'Thanks..'
He looked confused.. 'For looking after me.. Thank you..'
'No problem' he gave her a smile and left.. For some reason she felt as if he had just walked out of her life.
Pushkar sat down and looked at her, 'Bani? What's worng with you?'
She looked at him.. 'what??'
'Jai loves you Bani… you know you love him too.. why are you doing this to yourself. Bani why are you distancing yourself from him? He will keep you happy, there are not many guys these days that do! I've seen you Bani, looking at him, the children, you know deep down you love him too.'
Pushkar sighed.. Bani eyes filled with tears. He pulled her into a hug.. 'Bani Bani..'
'I don't know what to do…I'm so confused..' she said sobbing into his shirt.
'Listen to your heart.. and stop ruining my shirt!'
Bani punched and hugged him again! 'Thanks Pushkar'

Bani woke up with a jolt, she looked around, and then fell back into the bed. She heard someone knocking her bedroom door. 'Come in..' The door flew open and Krishna came running in and then jumped on her bed.
'Hi.. Mu...Aunty..'
'Pehle kya bolne wali thi?' what are you going to say before?
'Nothing..' she grinned.
Bani raised one eyebrow.. Krishna giggled..and she suudenly frowned when she remembered why she was here..
'App a rahi ho?' Are you coming?
'Kahan?'
'Ghar'
'Huh?'
'Haan. Papa, arthva aur main ghar jaa rahe hain.. aap aa rahi ho humare
saath?'
Bani sat up suddenly, What??
She wrapped a robe over nightie and went ran downstairs, and saw Jai loading their bags into his car. Her heart stopped beating for a minute. He's just leaving?
She seemed to be in shock, as she saw Pushkar shaking Jai's hand, and then hugging him, hugging the children, promising to visit them soon.
He then leaned down to talk to the children. They were talking in hushed whispers but Bani could hear every word they were saying.
The children them came to Bani, 'you'll come visit us na?'
Jai looked at Bani, when they asked her. Bani nodded, looking at Jai.
'Promise?'
'Promise.'
They went and sat in the car. Jai stayed back a little and Pushkar seeing this, went to talk to the kids leaving them alone.
'Uh…'
Bani tried to smile..Did she want him to stay? She didn't love him did she?
'Well, I have to go back to Mumbai now, so.. it was nice meeting you Bani..'
'Yea..' she nodded she couldn't seem to speak
'You have to know.. you'll always hold a special place in my heart..'
Bani smiled at this. He kissed her on the cheek, sat in the car and drove off.
Bani did not understand why she was crying.. again Pushkar had to comfort her.
