Meanwhile Jai and Bani looked at them, puzzled.

Bani was still awkward sitting between Arthva and Jai! But she didn't want to think too much about this, as she was famished and the food looked so good. She looked around to see if anyone had started, she didn't want to seem greedy by taking first. Jai saw the conflicting emotions on her face, he turned around and whispered 'Hungry?'
Bani looked at him surprised. How did he know? 'Yeah', she whispered, a little embarrassed.
Jai gave him one of his smiles and started taking some food, the others followed. Bani looked at him gratefully, 'Thanks' she said.
'For whaaat?' asked Arthva, mouth full of food.
'Arthva' said Jai sternly, 'No talking with your mouth full'
'Sorry' he replied after a pause, once he had swallowed.
Jai smiled, 'Papa, I'm eating properly,' said Krishna, really proud of herself. 'Yes beta,' and he patted her head. Arthva gave a slight 'humph' and glared at Krishna. Bani smiled at the jealousy.
Massi and Pushkar on the other hand were in deep thought, 'Nah.. (s)he can't have said the perfect family, naaah,' they thought. And both dismissed their thoughts.
Pushkar noted, Arthva was keeping Bani busy. 'Aur phhir main apni friends kay ssath play kiya tha..?' he said. Bani nodded. 'Achaa.. aur phir?' she tried to sound interested. Jai tried not to laugh. Arthva could be a chatterbox when he wanted to be, and he noted that Bani was not particurlary interested.
'Arthva.. let Aunty eat..' he said and Arthva and started to eat. Arthva was eating some daal, but since the chars were a little big for him, by the time he brought the spoon to his mouth, most of the daal had dropped back in the bowl. After a few more tries, he scowled, frustrated.
Pushkar and Bani were watching and Pushkar couldn't resist laughing. Arthva looked at him with an angry face, 'Sorry' Pushkar said, trying not to giggle. Arthve looked around and saw Massi and Pushkar talking, and Krishna being fed by Jai and Bnai eating silently. What was that?? Jai feeding Krishna???
'Mujhe bhi…' he said, 'Mujhe bhi khilao.. hamesha usko hi kyon' obviously upset.
Jai chuckled, 'Acha acha, chalo' he leant towards Arthva, pressing his entire body against Bani. (here's the action belan wanted!!) Bani gasped inwardly at the sensations Jai caused in her. Jai could feel Bani's body tensing up, 'she was definitely affected by this, so she wasn't as immune to him as she made out' He smirked.
Bani's whole body felt as if it was on fire, she had to stop this. 'um.. main utho?'
'nahi, nahi.., bas ho gaya..'
'Nooo' Arthva screamed 'You have to feed me' He said with with puppy dog eyes, he knew his father wouldn't be able to resist them! But Krishna was not going to take this,
'Nahi' he said, 'Papa, mujhe..khilao'
Massi volunteered, but Krishna or Arthva were having none of that. They both wanted their father to feed them.
Jai was still bent towards Arthva and Bani really wanted to move. 'Main..' Jai moved, he didn't want him to hate her, he didn't want to push her too far. He got up, 'Haan…?' he questioned. She looked straight into his eyes and couldn't look away. He had the most expressive eyes. They said eyes were windows to one's soul, and this was the first time she believed this. 'I..' she forgot what she was going to say to him. They stared at each other, not wanting to be the first to look away.
It was Krishna and Arthva who brought them out of their trance. 'Khilao, ' they both screamed.
'Actually,' Arthva said, 'Mujhe Papa say nahi khaana, muhje aunty say khaana hai' Bani eyes widened in surprise. 'Kya..?'
'hmm..' he said matter of factly, 'App khilao mujhe'
And then started another fight, they both wanted to be fed by Bani. Soon the matter was resolved, It was Bani feeding Krishna and Jai feeding Arthva with the promise that next time they ate together, Bani would feed Arthva and Jai Krishna.
Dinner was soon over and with everyone's help, the table wand dishes were cleared within 20 minutes.
They all sat in the living room and Jai lit the fire, since it was getting cold. Bani sat in one of the armchairs, and was not listening to the conversation; she was too busy thinking about what happened at dinner. She had never felt this before, her friend Rano had told her about this when she had met her husband, Ranveer and Bani had laughed it off. Now she was staring to re-think.
Bani's parents had divorced at a very early age. She remembered that her mother always used to blame her for the divorce, most of the times, her parents had fought over Bani. Her father had never wanted children but her mother had gotten gregnant and she refused to baort the child, like her father had wished. Since that, there was a lot of tension between her parents.
When her mother had found out about her husband having an affair, she had filed for divorce.The divorce had been very hard on Kiran. There were a lot of fights for money and property which Kiran had inherited. Kiran had always thought that if she didn't give birth to Bnai, maybe her marriage could have saved. There were constant reminders for Bani ass he grew up, that she (bani) had been the cause of their parents failed marriage.
Bani had never seen her father and once her mother had died due to an overdose of anti-depressants, she had sold everything and with the help of Pushkar was able to start a new life. She had always told her self she wouldn't marry and children were out of the question. Pushkar, she thought fondly, An older brother that she had always wanted. When she was struggling with her writings he was the one to loan her money and set up meeting with various influencial people.
After two unsuccessful adult novels, Pushkar had found a children's book Bani had written and had sent it off to a publisher without her knowledge. It had been an instant hit and since then Bani had started writng for children. It was more for money, than the fact that she actually enjoyed it! She had always given up the dream of writing for children after the ordeals in her life.
But now here was Jai and his two children. She had always tried to stay in control of her life, but now here was Jai and his two children who were messing everything up.
Bani gave a deep sigh which attracted Jai's attention and he turned to look at her. She looked beautiful, she seemed to glow from the light of the fire. Jai was mesmerised. Bani could feel someone's gaze on her, and she turned to look straight into Jai's eyes.
Pushkar and Massi were oblivious to this. They were too bust talking about the latest films and serials that Massi has watched recently!
Bani blushed from the intensity of Jai's gaze. It was Arthva who borke their eye-lock. He and Krishna had just come form the kitchen after finishing off their ice cream. He jumped on Bani's lap. Bani's face was a picture. Great he's going to get all sticky again. She thought. 'See ' he said putting his hands up, 'I washed my hands and mouth. You know, last time I got you sticky? This time I haven't' he said with smile, proud of himself! Bani face broke in to a grin involuntarily, he was so thoughtful. Just like his father she thought remembering the dinner incident (when he asked if she was hungry).
Soon Krishna also came running into her lap. Now both of them were sitting in Bani's lap and talking to her. Ok.. they're quite heavy' she thought. She shifted her position so she was more comfortable.
Pushkar who was sting with Massi, had a big grin on his face. 'The kids are with Bnai the kids are with Bani' He wanted to dance with joy!! He had never been this happy. Well he had, when he had proposed to his fiance, and she had accepted! This was the second most happiest moment of his life! Finally all is going well, 'Ha!! Shame massi, now try and spereate this!' he thought smugly.
Soon it was all four of them taling, thought mostly Jai had his eyes on Bani and his children. They were so comfortable with her. They had never warmed to anyone his quickly, he thought with happiness.
Soon the kids had dozed off and it was time for Bani and Pushkar to leave. Jai sood to take Krishna and Arthva off of Bani. As he bent down his arm brushed against Bani's and he felt a tingling in her spine. Bani gave him a sligh smile, still confused at what his touch seemed to do to her.
Pushkar who was carrying Arthva, followed Jai.
Bani and Pushkar said their good –byes and went home. Massi was delighted.
'Maine dekha munna' she said
'Kya..?'
'Tu aur Bani, pehlay dinner table par, phir ab jab sab baithe thay'
Jai smiled and went up to his room, thinking of Bani. The dinner scene kept coming back to him. Him leaning towards Arthva and her soft curves pressing into him. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.
Pushkar was also exhausted and happy, 'My plan is going welll' he said as he ran up to his room. He eneterd and jumped around. 'YES!!' and after talking to Tanu(look it's my FF, kuch to faida hona chahiye! ), his fiance he fell asleep with a smile on his face!!!
Bani hugged her pillow as she also thought about Jai, she was feeling happy for no reason she thought. And she also drifted off in a sweet sleep!
And Massi? Well she was still busy of thinking ways of getting Jai and Bani closer!
