i was at first confused as why Pushkar was treated as doctor since as far as i could recall he was an engineer. finally the picture got clear. it was an excellent part with PP in the making.... i have a song for JB..

Part Four

A poet is someone who stands outside in the rain hoping to be struck by lightning.

Bani was walking alone in the street. It was raining heavily. She was getting soaked, drenched to the bones. But who cares? It's raining and she's walking in the rain. She's got a good mind to dance. But the road is empty. There is none here. Someone touched her shoulder. She jerks away and turns..and screams.."JAI, what kind of fun is this? What if I'd have died?"

He doesn't reply..just smiles. Bani also smiles. "after so long, you are remembering me?" he calls her name, "Bani.." she is enthralled. He pulls her in a hug and suddenly he's gone, he's nowhere to be seen. She was standing alone in the road, getting wet and soaking…

When you touch my face
When you call my name
I burned with desire
But you left me in the rain

She saw him again, laughing at her naive ness."What, you were thinking it's raining, while it's not."she looks around. The rain was gone. It was a bright night, full of lots of stars twinkling as if smiling at her. She goes to touch his hand and suddenly he was gone again. She was left alone in the street….

Bani jerked up and sat up on her bed sweating. She clutched her pillow close to her heart. What a dream, she thought. She slowly pulled away the covers and got down, gulped down a glass of water and went to stand in the balcony.

The sky was clear with night stars. She looked down, the guards were strolling, making sure the compound is secured. She feels a tear drop escaping from her eyes. She doesn't bother to wipe it away.

She slowly comes back to her room. She turned her PC on and logged on to Gtalk. As soon as she entered, she saw him online. She was now sobbing as she saw him knocking.

JW: What's wrong hunn? Why are you up so late? Any problem?

Mermaid: 😭

JW: you are crying? Why baby, what happened, tell me please, what's wrong?

Mermaid: I had a dream of you and I
A thousand stars lit up the sky
I touched your hand and you were gone
But memories of you live on

JW: Don't do this Baby, what have you dreamt of? Tell me please..

Mermaid: Just how I told you…I was alone, you came and you left, I became alone again…

JW: Wipe the tears baby, I can't bear it…

Mermaid: come and wipe them yourself..

JW: Don't be nave jaan, don't cry, nothing will happen. Do you think I'd survive?

Mermaid: I don't want to hear anything, I don't understand logic, you come back..

JW: Baneee…

Mermaid: I'm going..

JW: Bani suno to..

Jai groaned loudly as he saw Mermaid has just logged out. He frowned and kept looking at the conversation for sometime. Then suddenly he made up his mind.

Bani tried to wipe her tears. She went back to bed and cried herself to sleep. She knew that probably she's being nave, but she was unable to help it.

Puskar tapped his fingers on the table. He was unable to fix his mind on work. Then she finally decided to call her. The ring was going on..Come on, pick it up.

"Dr, Mehta.." said the voice over the telephone.

"Hi, Dr. Mehta. I'm Dr. Shukla." Said puskar trying hard to conceal his laughter.

"Dr. Who?" asked Pri confused.

"Puskar Shukla, M'aam. I didn't had the Dr. degree until some fairy gave it to me." Said Puskar cheerfully.

"Are you trying to flirt with me DR. Shukla? If you, then don't bother." Said an annoyed Pri.

"Ok, let's be serious. How about dinner tonight?"

"I don't eat." Snapped Pri as she cut the phone.

Puskar looked at his phone amusingly. Damn girl! You are making me fall harder.

The girls minus Bani were having lunch together at some restaurant. They looked up as Pri slammed her phone.

"who was calling?" asked Rano.

"A doctor-engineer."

"A WHAT?" asked Rano and Sarika at unison.

Pri explained the situation to them. They started to giggle.

"he sounds cute." Said Sarika.

"You are married." Smirked Rano to her.

"But he's not here." Said Sarika winking at Rano.

"Chee, shadi ke do week bhi nehi hua, abhi..wait till I tell Jiju." Said Pri.

"Someone is changing the topic." Said Sarika.

"He's a stupid, trust me." Said Pri annoyed as she saw both Sarika and Rano flicking their eye lashes meaningfully.

"How can you tell this with one visit. You should see him more often." Suggested Rano.

"I know him enough. He's my Home Tutor back in the school days." Said Pri.

"W-H-A-T? the one you loved?" asked Sarika and Rano at once.

"No, no, not him…another one."

"What's with you and your teachers? Either you fall for them or they fall for you?" snorted Sarika.

"It's not like that." Protested Pri at once but sighed as she saw the determined expression in her friends' faces. "Okay, it's not my fault."

Bani stayed at home and refused to receive any calls. When her chachi asked her what happened to her, she said that she's just not feeling well. Payel didn't bother her much. Shahil and Shiv tried their best to cheer her up but Bani was sad all day. At last, she came out of her room when it was almost dusk. She decided to take a walk around.

She was walking aimlessly and didn't notice when she came towards the Air Force area. She became aware that she's come too far when it became dark. She didn't have the heart to walk back to home. She was looking around to see if there was any familiar officer who'll give her a lift.

Unable to find any, she started to walk. And all of a sudden, she tripped. She felt that blood was oozing from her forehead as she tried to stand up again. Someone approached her and helped her get up. "thanks," she muttered. "No problem." said a male voice. "Are you resident here?"

"I'm..I live in the cantonment" she said. She looked up to face a man who was looking at her questioningly. "I live in Lt. Colonel Dixit's house. I'm her niece. Bani."

"Flight Lieutenant Aparajeet Deb." He held out his hand towards Bani.

Now, I'm going to run away from here, already contacted the police for my security. Will only come back once you finish throwing the belans….
