Part Five

After much turmoil inside her heart, Bani entered WM, her past home, where she never thought she'd step in again. She looked around, everything was looking almost the same. She hesitated for a moment and went towards the dining room where she found Mausi and Anu.



Anu: Bani Mami aap? I'm glad to see you back.



Mausi didn't say anything but just smiled to herself. Her plan is working. If she hadn't yelled at Bani, she'd never have come. She knows Bani this well at least.




Bani looked around expectantly, obviously looking for Krishna. Anu got the clue.




"Maami, Krissy is with Rano Bhabi" she pointed towards upstairs. Bani looked at Mausi who nodded silently. Bani slowly made her way towards upstairs.

Rano was playing with Krishna. Little Krishna was walking around her room and throwing everything to the floor. Seems like throwing stuff is her favourite game. Rano is keeping an eye on her and talking to Krishna nonstop.




"Krissy, beta, dheere, gir jaoge.., Tweety darling, move slowly."




Krishna looked at her and screwed her nose and lips, imitating her Dad when he gets angry. Rano started to laugh. "Oy meri jaan, what a pleasant kid you are!"




Krishna smiled cutely at her and just then her eyes fell on a ball kept in one corner of the room.




"Baabyyy…bbbaaabyy.." she ran towards it.




"Hunny, that's a ball, it's not Baby." Said Rano as Krishna picked up the ball and threw it towards the other corner of the room. "Baaabyy…"




Rano followed her and smiled, "Honestly, who told you these things are baby, hu?" Krishna looked back at Rano and showed all her seven teeth to her. Rano laughed and picked her up and twirled her in the air. Krishna started to giggle.




"I love you jaan," said Rano happily to her.




Bani looked all these from the door and her heart sank. How she has missed Krishna. She took a step inside and Rano noticed her.




"Aap?" the smile of Rano's face immediately vanished. "Aap kya chahti hain yaha?"




Krishna looked curiously at Bani and a word escaped from her mouth, "Mamma.."




Bani could take it no more. She rushed to Rano and reached out for Krishna but to her horror, Krishna covered her face with her tiny hands and hid her face in Rano's shoulders, shaking her head vigorously,



"Nei…nei…maamma….nehi…."


"Krishna, meri bachhchhi, mere pass ao, beti." Bani cried helplessly but Krishna kept shaking her head.




Bani looked heartbroken. Rano said softly, "Krishna is a shy kid, she doesn't go to strangers easily."




Bani felt that someone has dropped a hundred ton weight on top of her heart.

"Pia, let's get married." Said Puskar. Pia screwed her face, "No Marriage."




"But why darling? What's wrong with me?" pleaded Puskar.



"Nothing's wrong with you, the marriage word sickens me, see what happened to Bani." Pia groaned in annoyance.




"Well, it's Bani's fault, she was two timing." Argued Puskar, "You're not going to cheat on me, are you?"




Pia glared at him, "No, I don't cheat, and who told you Bani was cheating, it was all Mr. Roy's plannings…." She suddenly stopped midway.




"What?" Puskar jumped up. He's always been a well wisher of both Jai and Bani.




"You don't know?" Pia was also surprised. "Everyone knows, ops, forgot that you were absent from here quite long."




His mouth tightened as he heard how IR has made Jai believe that Bani was having an affair with him. And at the same time, he made Bani realize that, JW envies her and doesn't want her success.




"Toh kya hua?" asked Puskar as Pia stopped.




"Kya hua? Main bata ti hu tumhe…IR ne ek cassette banaya, fake, where his and Bani's conversation was recorded and Bani said she loved him."




"Aur Mr Walia believed in this crap?" now Puskar was flared up.




"No, he didn't. meanwhile, IR convinced Bani that JW is pulling Bani back as he is extra cautious and doesn't want to see Bani succeed. He said that JW was jealous of his and Bani's relation and doesn't want Bani to work with him."




"Then?"




"then it's easy, they had a huge row, where they accused each other. JW asked Bani that she has to leave working with IR or Him. Bani left home, too stubborn… I don't understand her." Said Pia.



After hearing every details from Pia, Puskar started to make plans. Pia was at first hesitant, then Puskar threatened her, than she agreed to help him out.

Bani sat there watching her daughter play. Occasionally, she was giving shy glances towards her mother but she won't come to her even after much coaxing.



Mausi came there, "It's not her fault actually Bani, she's a child and you left her when she needed you the most. How could you when she was on your feed, Bani?"



"I never left Mausi, your son threw me out of the house." Replied Bani.




"Ok Bani, I don't know how the misunderstandings led but you left your husband and your kid for your career, huh? He told you to chose one and you left your kid like this?"




"I..I..I's angry and he's angry too. I thought he'll call me back. It was his fault. He became a jealous husband and…he never called me back."


"He called you thousand times Bani. Even he admits that he's a bit too harsh to you but you never accepted his calls." Accused Bani.




"I don't know what you are talking about." Replied Bani a bit guiltily. It was true that she's cut down some of his calls in the initial days. But he never bothered to call later.

Jai was annoyed at the phone call made by Puskar.




"Mr. Walia please come here, at the production house."



"Why? I don't have enough time to…"



"Bani needs you here Mr. Walia…" Puskar threw the best weapon to weaken Jai.




"W-what happened to her? Is she alright?" he asked as he already started to shut his laptop of to leave.




Puskar smiled to himself, even after all this, he loves her so much. "you just come here." He said.



Phase one completed. He thought triumphantly. Phase two begins now.

Inside the room, Pia was sweating, God I hate to do this. What if if affects my career, thought she as a single beep was heard on her cell phone. Indication from Puskar. She sighed and smiled at IR.




"Mr Roy, do you like Bani this much?"




"Have you any doubt Pia darling. Since she came to industry, my eyes fell on her but that Bas**** of Walia came into my way. He married her, can you believe it? He married her…"




Pia however was unable to find anything disbelieving in this. Off course a man can marry a woman, why you are so shocked. None of my business, she thought.




"And he kept his hawk like eyes on her all the time. I hate the guts of him"




"Are you going to take revenge on Mr Vollya?" asked Pia trying big time to widen her eyes with shock.




"Noh, I only need Bani. I don't want to mess up with that Walia anymore than I've already done.."




"You are really brave, what have you done?" asked Pia innocently.




"Don't you know? I did manythings, for example, I conspired his phone calls to Bani." He smiled proudly at her.




"OMG, how did you do that?" asked Pia, a bit nervous as she held the cell phone a bit higher where the built in recorder was going on.


"It was not easy, but his own tricks made my work easy. Do you know he uses two different numbers? One in day and one in night? Well,…" he smirked…"when he called Bani in the day times, I managed to distract her but the night calls were a trouble. Then I got the brain wave.." he winked at her. "I diverted his calls toward my number. Imagine his face expression when he calls at his wife's private phone in the middle of the night and I pick up the phone…" he laughed loudly.




Pia looked at him and thought What a man, how horrible he can become, well, hmm…ok, it doesn't matter, I can do much more horrible things than this when necessary. She smirked.



IR thought Pia was smirking because of his talent work. He also smirked and then Pia saw a dramatically change in his expression, from a smirking face to a scared face. She turned around to see Jai and Puskar at the door.

"Krishna, stop beta stop. What are you doing?" asked Bani as the little girl pulled her saree pallu. Bani struggled to put her little son in the crib and get free from Krishna's grip on the same time.


"Mamma….call me Tweety and you promised you are going to take me to watch Disney today.." she complained.


"Don't bother me, why don't you ask your Papa to take you?" asked Bani as she tucked little Atharva in.


"Papa is busy reading some stupid book, you take me." Said Krishna moodily.




"Tweety, I can't leave Atharva alone beta…"




"You left me alone when I was small kid" said Krishna making her eyes big.




"Who told you?" asked Bani now a little angry.




"Jigyasa Bua." Said Krishna and showed her tongue to Bani and ran straight to Jai's study and jumped on his lap.




"Paapaa….tell me, Mamma left me when I was small nah?"




"Who told you?" asked Jai though he already knew who can do this.




"Jigs Bua.." Krishna replied. Jai kissed her in the forehead. "She leaves me alone sometimes as well, specially at nights when Atharva starts to cry...seems like Mamma doesn't love us"



"Yes! She loves Atharva more…" said Krishna.



"Hmm, off course she does…but I love you more…ahem..don't tell her I told so ok?"



"Its' too late Jai." Said a stern voice. Jai looked up to find Bani standing in the door with her hands on her hips. "I've heard it."




Jai approached her and placed a kiss in her cheek, "It's never too late jaan." Bani smiled at him and put her arms around his neck. Krishna started to cough intentionally. They sighed.



"Who told you to be the father of such a smart girl?" asked Bani tiredly.




"I'll mind it next time" winked Jai to a blushing Bani….he picked up Krishna and went out with her hearing her continuous bickering.



Bani watched them and shook her head lovingly, he doesn't grow up a bit, even in this age, he's talking about more kids…well, who knows? After all, it's never too late….







Well, hope it is not too boring. I apologize in advance if the ending was not upto the mark, I myself somehow don't feel satisfied with the way it ended, but what to do, it's what I've come up with...Please let me know if you've liked the last part as well as the whole story...I know I promised a Short Story and dragged it too far...Hope the last chapter is not too long, couldn't help making it a bit long since it's the last one.....Will be waiting to see you in my journey through Rain Maker as well...😉 Take care until then....
