Part One
"you're news again, ma'am." Said a handsome voice over her head and her head shot up.
"oh my god! Is it you Puskar?" she jumped up from her seat and hugged him tightly. "I can't start to describe how pleased I'm to meet you."
"Me too, darling, I see you are on the top again." He smirked as he show her a newspaper in his hand.
"oh, don't bother, this top position is nothing, it comes and goes, I work for mental satisfaction." She chirped in though it was not hard to find the blush in her cheeks, pleased of the compliment.
Puskar gave a high pitched laugh that attracted all the people that were occupied in the room. "For heavens, I'm not a bloody reporter, I'm your old friend and I'm a fellow worker if you say so." He gave one of his charming smiles.
The occupants of the room were not much. There were three men and two women. The men were, Puskar, a star actor of Bollywood, who tried to work in small screen but felt that was not his place and came back to movies, Mr. Indrojeet Roy, one of the leading directors of the industry right now, a makeup man. The women were, Ms, Pia Kapoor, a side actress of the current film and last but not least, the main actress of the film, Bani, who doesn't use any surname.
Seeing Bani and Puskar together, Mr Roy got a splendid idea. Why not pair them again? They used to be a striking pair once. The things changed as Puskar went to have a try in the short screens and Bani's marriage..let it go. He'll do what is profitable to him. And he knows that people are going to accept this pair again. If they can welcome Bani jovially even after her marriage, then they'll off course accept the pair again.
Mr. Indrojeet Roy was a clever man and he knew that it was not the best time to do so. He invited Puskar, Bani and Pia in a dinner party the next day and cordially requested that the shooting should be get going. Puskar was a charming lad, he understood. He bade farewell to everyone and went off the set, not forgetting to place a kiss in Bani's cheek who beamed. The sounds of clicking cameras were hard loud. The cine magazines have got their headlines.
………………………..
The party next day was a blast. It consisted of many dazzling stars of wide screen. Actors, director, producers all were having their time of the life. Puskar was off course glad to be back here. He felt like he's back where he belongs.
On an opportunity, Mr Roy offered Bani and Puskar to play main roles in his latest movie, they both were surprised at first and then they agreed. Bani badly wanted to make a way for Puskar, if the movie hits, then he'll be settled here again. If it doesn't, well, she can afford few flop movies.
The news was all over the cine magazines and news sections. The article was followed by a shimmering story of Puskar and Bani's chemistry, their success together, their past love story and a picture of Puskar kissing Bani on the set.
After the news was published, both Bani and Puskar got congratulations from many people. Bani found many bouquets of flowers when she reached the shooting spot the next day. When she was laughing her fake laugh to some of the co actors, far away, in a deserted hospital corridor, a dashing handsome but pale man curled the piece of newspaper and threw it to the waist paper basket. Sighing deeply, he entered a special cabin, where a one and half years old baby girl was being treated.
He looked at his daughter's face, as pale as his. She was awake and was looking helplessly around the room, her face lit up seeing the only person she ever loved, her father. He knelt down beside her and touched her delicate hand. She smiled more and tried to get up. He carefully picked her up, careful not to upset the IV, she giggled and called in her half voice, "A..a ..paa..paa."
His heart skipped a beat, "I won't let anything happen to you, you'll be alright honey."
She seemed to understand his words, she pressed one of her small hand to his cheeks, "paa..paa…loves….. taaiittee.."
He loved at his young daughter, God, her name has turned to Tweety in realty. She answers when she is called tweety, she calls herself Tweety, taitee in her accent, whenever someone asks, Where is Tweety?, she points at herself.
"You forget your name Krishna?" he said softly. The girl shook her head vigorously and kept saying "Taitee, taitee, taiteee."
"Ok, ok, you are off course my Taitee." He kissed her forehead and make her lie down again in the bed, "You know, if I guessed that you'd get familiar with Tweety more I'd never have called you Tweety in the first place." The girl smiled, as if she can't do anything except smiling.
"Keep smiling my little child, I'll see that you keep smiling all along." He kept looking at her until some female voice interrupted him.
"Jai?"
He quickly wiped away his tears and faced his Mausi who was looking at him concernedly, "You can go to office now, I'll take care of Krishna."
"Taitee…taitee…" said Krishna in her lovely voice.
"Ok, meri jaan, taitee." Laughed Mausi as he bend down to kiss her.
Jai turned to leave when he heard her Mausi say, "I'm like your mother Jai, there's no need to hide the tears from me, at least."
