Khushboo2006, thanks a lot for the wonderful words. I am glad you liked the farmhouse, it's part of what I want to have in my future, a simple but beautiful house. Yup, Jigyasa will be a simple nice, positive character who is only looking out for the best for his brother. Will try to update soon, glad you like it.
Neetu, thanks, I am glad you liked the story and its pace. Yup, Jai will play a big part in Bani's life, and her struggle to overcome the past. Hopefully the next date will be soon.
Angelrockz, thanks, glad you like it. Will try and update soon.
Divan, Thanks a lot. Yup, Jai is too cute and nice for having done this for her. And yup, Jigyasa is nice and kind in this FF. There will be no evil characters as I think there are only good and grey people in this world.
Siumi, I am glad you liked the long update. And yup, Jai is serious about Bani and he is willing to do anything to get her another date.
Sangita, your words really touch my heart. I am glad you are liking this fanfic. I had a image in my head and I am glad I could make you visualize it as well. Yes, Jigyasa will be a good character in this fanfic, only rude to others when need be. Jai is thinking hard for the next date but it depends on how hard Bani will make the job for him. Will try and update soon.
Iqbal Neha1, thanks a lot. I hope that too but it all depends on how hard Bani is going to make Jai run for his money. You hopefully won't have to wait too long as I am writing the next part.
Damilola, Thanks, will try to continue soon.
Rivs, thanks a lot. I tried to make it different I am glad you guys saw that. I am glad that you weren't bored by the details as I feared some people might be.
Amiee, yup it's going to be a slow relationship that will build on. Will try and continue soon.
Coolgurl_2005, thanks a lot. I am glad you liked my fanfic and my writing style. I am really humbled by your sweet words. Will try and update soon.
Bktr, I have had some free time at this moment so you are getting spoiled. Hopefully that will continue for sometime as I have the story fresh in my head and I am trying to put it on paper and let it come out as quickly as possible.
Part 5
Bani kept herself busy, that was the only way she could avoid the thoughts of Jai taking over her mind. She avoided his phone calls, she kept herself mostly in the office, locked up. She knew that she couldn't avoid him forever but realized that after a while he would stop.
Days passed and the phone calls stopped. The flowers that surrounded her office were starting to wilt. She had tried throwing them away a couple of times but she couldn't bring herself to do it. The maid had come in and offered to throw them away for her but for some reason Bani couldn't do it.
Bani turned off the lights in her office and was driving home when it hit her… she missed him. She had never let a man come so close to her to allow her to be hurt by what he did. There had only been one other man in her life who she had trusted with her entire heart but that trust was only broken as the time passed.
Bani stood at the red light, when someone knocked on her window. Instinct told her to lock the door, but she turned around and heaved a sigh of relief, and maybe of even joy. She unlocked the door, "What are you doing here Mr. Walia?"
"Well, let's see. I will tell you a quick story to explain this intrusion of mine. I met this girl at a job I went to, she was wonderful, charming, mysterious. It took me some time and a lot of luck to convince her to go on a simple date with me, which turned out to be the most fun I have had in a while. It was fun not only because she was great, but because I felt at times she was actually opening up to me," even as he said it, he could see Bani's shutter come down. "And then after the fun dinner we had, I planned on taking her out again, I tried everything but she ignored my phone calls, avoided me whenever I came down by her office, took my flowers but never sent a thank you."
Bani put through a quiet "Thank you."
"I wasn't looking for a thank you but I was looking for her to call me back or give me an indication that she acknowledged my presence. And then I got tired and thought you know what forget it, I have never gone behind a girl so much. I tried, with all my might to not call her for a day, but after a while I realized that in such a short time this girl had made an impact on me so that if nothing else, I had to meet her at least once. And so I found her best friend's number and asked her for the time this girl leaves to go home."
Bani fumbled with the keys, the light had turned green but Bani couldn't get the car to move, and anyways it was a deserted road. "I am going to kill her."
"Well, I found out the time was between 8:30 and 9:00 so I have been standing on this road, hoping that the girl passed once. And guess what she did, and I am sitting her wasting my time telling her this story when all I want to do is ask her on another date. So, Ms. Bani Dixit, will you go out with me tomorrow night?"
"Mr. Walia… I" Bani wanted to say yes, she knew she wanted to say yes, " I can't."
"You can't or you won't?" Jai retorted, now a little pissed.
"Both."
"And here I was sitting thinking you were stronger then that."
Jai had hit bulls eye, Bani had a weakness for being insulted. "I am not scared Mr. Walia."
"I didn't say you were, but now that you have mentioned it, prove me wrong."
"I have nothing to prove to you." Bani moved the car because she could no longer just sit there and listen to him.
"Okay then, you will go to the movie preview with me tomorrow at 8?"
"Listen Mr. Walia," before Bani could finish that sentence a car came at a fast speed at hit Bani's car from the left, and she had no time to react.
The entire scene went dark, Jai lay there unconscious and Bani was squished under the car as the car had flipped over.
The entire road was deserted and the man driving the other car was also hurt and unconscious in his car with a bottle of beer in his other hand. The glass of the beer had broken and it leaked out onto the car seat. The gasoline from the car had also fallen on the ground. The guy finally became conscious and realized where he was, half drunk he got out of the car and looked at the sight. Due to a bad habit, the man took out a cigarette as he looked at the wreck his car was in and when he saw the other car, his lighted cigarette fell down and he rushed over to see if there was anyone in the other car.
The cigarette hit the gasoline and the entire car went on flames, creating a signal for police far from the site. The man, upon hearing police sirens, flee from the spot not caring to look once at the people in the car. The police arrived on the site and were shocked at the sight. One of the car was on fire and half the men went to find the passangers inside the car but there was no one in there.
The other officers went to Bani's car and taking out Jai Walia from underneath the car was simpler because he was on the passenger side. The men tried hard to take Bani out from underneath the car but it was almost close to impossible. If they moved her to one side, she could potentially paralyze herself due to situation. If they tried to take her out any other way, there was always the possibility of a instant death due to the head hitting the wrong spot. The paramedics reached the spot and along with the firefighters worked together to take the car apart. A huge saw was taken in order to break open the bottom of the car (which was now on the up side).
After a long 20 minutes, the officers, firefighters finally managed to take her out of the car without killing her. She was placed inside the ambulance and paramedic took out their phones to inform the hospital of their arrival. "We have a 25 year old woman with us with serious head injury. A lot of blood has been lost and she has sprained her neck as well as back bones. We will be there in 20 minutes. There was another patient who has already been sent in, a man of 30 year age, he had bodily injuries, with minimal blood loss and head injuries. A couple of bones were broken but no serious exterior injuries."
The ambulance drove quickly but even with the Mumbai night time traffic, it took some time to get to the closest hospital. The nurse in the car quickly did the few things she knew how to do. The pads had been put on Bani's head to stop excessive blood lose and straps had been put around her arms so her bones did not mend in the wrong way.
Jai, in the other ambulance, opened up his eyes and mumbled incoherently a few things. The only thing the nurse could make out was a name, "Bani."
"Hi, my name is Sneha, I am your nurse here. I looked at your wallet and found out who you are. Mr. Walia, your family has been informed and they will arrive at the hospital soon enough. The person in the car with you is being escorted to the hospital in another ambulance, I am not sure how she is but I can assure you she is being taken care of really well."
"Bani," he continued saying the name over and over again because even in his state he knew that Bani was in trouble, big trouble.
Bani stirred a little bit from the thought of the accident as it was being replayed in her head. It was all her fault, she was the one driving. She slowly opened her eyes and it hurt, there was a piece of glass on her eyelids and she could no longer open them.
The nurse rushed as she saw her hand stir, "Don't open your eyes, you could potentially hurt your eyes a lot by opening them, just keep them closed."
Bani kept them closed but her thoughts went to Jai. She tried to talk but nothing came out that sounded like any language. She was hurt all over her face and the last thing her mouth could do was move the way she wanted it to. Within seconds, she slowly drifted off to sleep as the effects of the sedative took over.
The doctors worked in different rooms and tried to make sure the patients have all the resources needed to survive. Jai's case was simpler because it seems that he had no major brain injuries and it was cuts and bruises that could be mended with some work.
Bani's doctor worked seriously for several hours removing the shreds of glasses off various places on her body. There were bruises in her case as well but the bruises were on her brain better known as hematoma which could potentially kill her unless dealt with extremely carefulness.
They tried to contact her family but it wasn't easy to find Nishikant Dixit. They passed through various secretaries but yet it was no avail.
On the other hand, Jai's family rushed in through the hospital. Within minutes, the entire ward was filled with the Walia family, all pacing back and forth to see if he was okay. After a few minutes, Jai regained consciousness. The entire family flooded inside the room to look at him. "Beta, what happened? I am so glad you are okay."
Krishna Walia always worried about her son, but for the first time she felt as if her heart had almost been ripped off, "Are you feeling better?"
"I am fine Ma… Doctor, where is Bani?" Jai looked around for her but couldn't find her.
"Bani?" Krishna Walia was oblivious to any girl named Bani.
"Yah, Ma she was in the same car as me, is she fine?" Jai was getting worried by the way the doctors looked at each other.
A doctor finally stood up and tried to explain the situation to the best of his ability. "Mr. Walia, we have tried to locate family but we have gotten no respond. Since you were in the car and you are the only person we can get permission from."
"Permission? For what??" Jai was confused, shocked, and he felt as if he had just been ripped apart in million pieces.
"There is traumatic brain injury which can cause a lot of different problems. We are checking what they are through CT scans and MRI scans to see if they can spot any problems. The other injuries we can only figure out after she wakes up. There are several neck injuries that has caused movement of the soft issues in the nerves and ligaments and muscles. We need to do a surgery to repair some of the muscles that are really needed to be repaired and that too quickly."
"But she will be alright, right?" Jai need reassurance, he couldn't do this, not now, not ever.
"Well, we can't promise anything… there are a lot of injuries that can happen as a side effect for all the head injuries but for now we can't say anything. We have 48 hours, she needs to wake up by that time or we have to announce that she has slipped into a coma."
Jai just stared, not sure what to say… what do to… He signed the papers the doctors handed him but couldn't do anything about it.

Hope you liked it.
