Part 3

Rano closed her cabin door and waited, outside Sahil and Jai looked through the window.

The could see Bani shouting, yet couldn't make out what she was saying, she threw her hands in the air, paced up and down the room whilst Rano sat in her seat relaxed to the world.

'Good luck buddy' jai said, taking sahil out of his slight day dream 'shes your to be sis in law' patting him gently on his back he started walking towards his cabin, smiling.

'But shes ur PA, meaning shes with you 24/7' sahil called.

'ah, I can fire her, can you fire your to be sister in law?' Jai retorted

Sahil smiled and said 'I hope you marry some one like Bani, then we'll see…' leaving his sentence incomplete, Sahil walked off. Jai stood there trying to make out what he meant, he looked at Rano's cabin laughed and walked off into his cabin.

Next day

'Mr.Walia, your meeting with er' flickin a couple of pages front and back 'er actually you knw the one with the bold head..' Bani asked

Jai smiled and asked 'Mr. Singania?'

'Nahi the other one, who ate all the lamb chops last time..' Bani blinked a couple of times looking lost in thought..

'oh HA! Woh.. What about him' Jai played along he wasn't going to play games with Bani first thing in the morning.

'your meeting with him is cancelled, by the way what was that guys name?' she smirked knowing fully well Jai was just playing along.

Smiling they continued to work in an comfortable silence.

Rano in the other cabin was tapping on the computer yet drifting off thinking about Sahil 'Paagal' she whispered and continued typing softly.

'chishmish, I need help again, the client on line two wants the data that for the pricing, and the person on line three wants the quotes that you were typing two days ago, and then if your free we can go to lunch.. if you need help with all them, just send me a buzz on the intercom again, ok see you at 1.' Click the sound of Sahils face disappeared and Rano was left in the silenced cabin grinning to herself. 'deal' she whispered and got up opened a file…

'Di!' Rano screamed running into Jais cabin without knocking, jolting them both out of their work, 'milagaya!!' she carried on shamelessly…

'Er, Rano, knocking wont kill anyone,' she said in a gruff voice clearly evident that she hasn't spoken for ages, 'kya hai?'

'Di, I got a project!!!!!' still screaming in a high pitch tone,

'KYA!!!!!!!!, ok im treating you to lunch, you know im off at 2.30 and ill b back at 4 so you wont b here,' she said quietly,

'you never told Jai about the timings?' Rano whispered back..

Jai getting a little uncomfortable, cleared his throat, 'whats going on? Rano which project did you bag? I would love to know why my star employee is going to be treated my fabulous PA..'

Blushing slightly Rano started to explain how they got the project and the way Sahil had supported her, occasionally getting hit on her head by Bani as she tried to explain.

'sounds good, Sahil actually worked?' Jai asked in disbelief..

'haan, he does work, very efficiently actually, he did the book keeping on the dubai project,' looking at her watch shyly she asked 'Di, can I go, I have a celebration due with Sahil, we're going out to eat..' without waiting for an answer she rushed off screaming 'thank you' from down the corridor..

'Seems like its u and me big guy' said exclaimed.. 'oo I didn't mean big as in u knw I meant in status, like im not taking the mick out of your size or anything, I think I should shut up' bani sighed..

Standing up jai laughed and excused himself into the canteen.

'hi roset! Whats on the menu today?' Jai asked..

'Hi sir, looking good in black, well the usual, chips, salad, then the sandwiches then theres the main meals, tuna pasta bake..' she was interrupted by Jai..

'yeh ill take the bake' silently he walked off looking at the text messages laughing at the innocent fwd jokes he received.. his thoughts were jolted by a shrill..

'KYA! No Indian food! Wat the hell! You live in India, breath the air, the market is just down the road yet you made this English food!'

'ER whats going on over here?!!' Jai shouted..

'EY! Don't u shou.. oh sir'

'Bani?!'

'haan who er, why don't you have Indian food, Dhal, chawal, Roti, are you ashamed is that it?' she asked bluntly

'What?! No its because we have Indian food at home so I thought of continental food everyday something different,' jai answered calmly.

'but what if you don't like this 'stuff'' waving her arms at it, then placing it at her hip and the other hand on the metal rail..

'then theres the door…'

He left leaving Bano opened mouthed.. 'How dare you' she whispered..

'So mam what would you have for lunch today'

'Besan ke ladoo, hain kya?!!' Bani shouted sarcastically, she walked off and locked herself in her cabin..

Its two o clock and Bani sat there sulking, quietly tidying her stuff and placing all the ornaments at an angle

Knock knock

'Come in' she said dejectedly

'For you mam,' said a male voice,

'leave it there ill see the parcel in a bit, im goin out at 2.30 ill b back at 4, tell you 'boss' that'

'im your boss you idiot!' bani turned around and saw Jai holding a plate 'er, its Indian,' Jai smiled showing her a bag and a thali.. 'all veg too…' hoping Bani's lips would turn upside down into a 'U' rather then 'n' 'oh come on ive made the effort here, I usually don't ask the others, I actually went and got it all myself, I swear, ask them..'

'thank you, but ill be back at 4 I have to go now.. ill eat it then.. '

'where are you going?' Jai was puzzled, they never agreed to this before..

'Just somewhere..' Bani answered hoping Jai would stop interrogating her

'where?'

'Just somewhere, can I go please im getting late..'

'yeh sure go ahead, just be back in time, we have a meeting I can only cover for you for about 30 mins, no longer im afraid..'

'don't worry ill b in time' she said smiling, having a slight skip in her walk she exited her cabin.

Watching her retreating back, Jai wondered where bani had gone…

'Rano?!' she stopped as she saw Jai puttinf the thali down on Bani's very well organised glass table.

'yeh sir?' she asked straightening her forever falling glasses..

'Where has Bani gone?, I knw you two were talking about something before, where has she gone in office hours, afterall if something happens to her, ill be blamed, and knowing her she'll open her mouth at the wrong times..'

'What she never told you?' Rano stared into a blank face, Jai made a gesture for her to continue..

'who kuch nahi, she'll be back at four, don't worry, and if something did happen, I know my Di is right!' she said proudly walking off..

'Where has she gone?' Jai questioned himself..
