Hello friends...here is the next part. I am trying to keep this a very light chapter and the next few will be so. I am going to bring back Nattu in the next one since I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms..I haven't seen him in a while now... Also, hopefully Bani will be back soon...

Chapter 18:
Abu Road Station –
"Come Di…hurry up…acha listen… Sahil and I will go ahead…you follow us…we don't want Masi to keep waiting and looks like the train has already arrived."
"Thanks Rano...you carry on…I will check out these skirts and will be on my way…just a few minutes…" (Okay I have this urge to see the screen Bani in skirts and kurti's so I will always have her dress in them in my FF…maybe a pink Saree if need be 😉 )
Inside on the platform…
"Laxmi…kahan ho bete…jaldi kar beta…and don't leave behind your stuff. Sahil and Rano will be here any minute…ohhh I am so excited to see them after so long" (Since the day Masi left for Chandigarh she has not met anyone in the family, especially Rano and Sahil…reasons will come later)
"Nani, I have heard you talk about all of these people, but then you always kept saying that you could not bring yourself to come visit your family here. And then suddenly you pulled me up from my sleep yesterday morning to pack our stuff to come here…I am so confused…joki mujhe confusion jaldi hoti nahi…lekin aapne to mujhe neend se hi utha diya…ki meri to samajh mein kuch bhi nahi aaya…aur mein kab se dekhe jaa rahi hoon…aap bahot waqt ke baad aaj itne khush dikhayi de rahe hoon…baat kya hai Nani…kuch to bataiye…"
"Arre bas kar ab…let you open your mouth for once and you don't stop…I don't understand how your parents could tolerate you all these years…and now as if to take some revenge from me…they have put your responsibility on me…and moreover they want me to find you a suitable boy…arre teri bak bak sun ke to koi bhi ladka bhaag jaye"
"Nani…mujhe to lagta hai ki mein app par hi gayi hoon. Mujhe chup karne ki koshish mein aap bhi kooch kam nahi boti" 😆 😛
"Arre chup pagal…who dekh…Sahil aur Rano aa gaye"
"Namaste Masi(ji)" Sahil and Rano both greeted Masi and bent down to get her blessings.
"Arre mere bacho…tumhari jaga yahan nahi…yahan hai" she said as she hugged them both. With tears in her eyes she continued,
"Ever since I heard your good news, I had wanted to come and see you. Lekin woh din mein kabhi nahi bhool paoongi…aur tumne Rano…meri bachi ki behen hokar bhi Jai ka saath diya…mein tumhe ab tak maaf nahi kar payi 😭 …maaf kar dena mujhe beta…But you know the circumstances and I just could not…but I am glad I am here now…ab mein koi kasar nahi chodungi…akhir mere pot eke ghar bacha aane wala hai"
"Masi…I completely understand what you are saying and I can speak for both of us that we did not mind your not coming before. But now that you have come I am not going to let you go. I know Masi your eyes are searching for someone…she is outside. Just remember what I had told you…thik hai." Rano replied.
Masi then introduced Laxmi to Sahil and Rano. They were meeting for the first time but had heard about her the last time her mom, Karuna Masi was here. Since Bani Di's departure and the engagement announcement between Pia and Mr. Walia the family had broken apart. But it was her arrival that had exposed all the dark secrets of the family ❓ . Everyone had tried to move on with their lives since then…but there was always that void left.
Rano was in this thought when they bumped into Binita. She was still busy bargaining for the skirts.
"Rano…arre soory mein to yahin par reh gayi….lekin kya karoon…aisa shopping ka mazaa US mein kahan…man to karta hain to saare ke saare kapde le loon lekin tumhare Tarun Bhaiya to khud ko bechna padega aagar maine aise kiya to." 😆 (This is how I go crazy shopping when I am in India…moving ahead). She then noticed Masi and immediately bent down to take her blessings.
"Namaste Masiji. How are you? And how is Dadi? How come she did not come with you? And how is the weather in Chandigarh?" Binita enquired.
Masi was shocked for a second, did she remember? 😲 But no, Rano had said that she barely remembered anything. Rano registered the confusion on Masi's face and chimed in
"Masi, when Di saw all our pictures she inquired about all. That is how she remembers everyone, right Di?"
"Yes Rano. That is how I know…plus you made sure you updated me about Masi a bunch of times on our ride here. So how could I forget? Lekin, Masi ek sach baat kahoon…aap ko dekh ke lagta hai ki aapka aur mera ek bahot gehra rishta hai…kahin na kahin mere ateet se lekar…but yeh kambhakt yaadash hi saath nahi de rahi hai."
"Arre koi baat nahi beta…aa jayegi teri yaadash dheere dheere. Ab mein aa gayi hoon na."
With this they started their upwards journey to Mt. Abu. Laxmi was introduced to Binita (note – Laxmi is not yet clearly told about Bani's memory loss). The girls immediately bonded. On calling up Simi they found out that she had already reached home and was busy in the kitchen with the last minute preps (as instructed by Rano).
"Binita bete…I meant to tell you this earlier…but forgot about it. Lekin, you are looking very adorable in this skirt and kurti dress. It is a very refreshing change to see you in something other that Saree and Salwars, in fact this suits you better. Pehle to tum dress ke naam se bhi door bhagti thi. Lekin, I like this change in you and you look so radiant. Bas aise hi kaste, muskurate rehna." Masi tried hard to hold back her tears but could not. 😭 She was very happy to see Bani happy, alas it was not to be when she was with them. She was happy to see that at last someone was able to give Bani the happiness she deserved.
Rano noticed how Masi was getting emotional, and she was growing concerned that Masi may not say something that might cause her Di any stress. She immediately intervened.
"Arre Masi, aap yahan par rook gaye. Let us go inside, I have a very good surprise for you inside. And believe me, you will be very happy once you see this Masi. Chalo ab cheti karo Masi…jaldi jaldi…" Rano almost dragged Masi inside the house
