Hey guys...I am finally back...after a week almost...sorry it took so long for the update...have been busy with work and did not get time to write...so I finally wrote down something today...i hope you dont absolutely hate it...I tried my best to bring about the feelings as best as I could btu I am still not very happy with the outcome...so please dont mind me...I promise that in the next chapter we will see some more JB moments..

Chapter 17:
Back to the person who is visiting Tarun… (Tarun is in the garden for convenience sake)
Tarun looks up to see Simi sitting by him on the swing. He tried his best to mask his voice and look away so as to wipe his face. 😭
"Arre Simi…tum kab aayi? Mujhe to pata hi nahi chala tum kab aayi. Bahot din se dikhayi nahi di yahan tum? Bahot busy ho gayi ho lagta hai."
"Yeah…work's a little busy since it is nearing an end. The servant said that only you were home but since I did not see you in the house…I figured you might be out here. So where is everyone?"
"Arre haan…who aaj Masi aa rahe hain na. To Sahil, Rano and Bani have gone to the station. They mentioned stopping by your place since its been a while since they saw you. Aur kya chal raha hai…how are your parents enjoying their trip? What is the latest update from their side?"
However hard Tarun tried to continue a normal conversation with Simi, it seemed impossible for him to continue. Here, he was trying to put together his feelings for the one person he had come to love but still wasn't sure. He tried to get up and walk away in order to hide his anguish. (awww... 😭 )
"Ma aur papa are just fine…having a good time with all the relatives. Ek baat puchoon Tarun mein tumse?" she asked hesitantly. When she had walked into the garden, she had seen Tarun in a very pensive mood…it had almost looked like he was crying and deep inside she had a clue about what was bothering him. Earlier today, when she had called Rano regarding work, Rano told her about everything that was going on in the house. How Binita Di had asked about Bani and Jai Walia, and how Krish had ventured into the dungeon (referring to Jai's room) and how Di and Mr. Walia had come face to face. She was sure that Tarun was going over the happenings of the day and that was why he was so upset.
"Haan Simi, bolo na. Kya hua? Kuch kaam tha kya?"
"Nahi waisi to koi baat nahi…lekin I just wanted to let you know that whatever you are doing and whatever you have done so far is simply amazing. I have heard a lot about you from Ma over the past year and now after meeting you I have started to respect you even more. And to tell you the truth, I just want to let you know that, if you ever need any help from me, please do not hesitate."
Hearing her words, left Tarun a little confused. What exactly did she know? And how much? Did Rano tell her everything? He did not know how to respond and hence very cautiously asked her
"I am not sure what you are referring to. But if I can venture a guess you are referring to Binita and me. Am I right?"
"Ji. I was going to ask you if you… you were upset about what happened today? Sorry if I am intruding." She wasn't sure why she was doing this. She wanted to heal him, take his pain away from him, at the same time she felt like she was trespassing since she very well knew that his feelings for Binita were private to him and she was intruding (haaiii…lekin dil hai ki manta nahin). Very uncertainly she continued, almost mumbling under her breadth "who kya hai naa…Rano told me what happened this afternoon…and…and … I knew what you must be going through…I mean…one sided love is hard but knowing that the person you love, could possibly love someone else and there is no possibility of your love being returned is the heart breaking…I am sorry…I should be just stop…I shouldn't have spoken…sorry…"
"I know what you are saying and thanks for understanding. To tell you the truth you just put in words my feelings…and that too in very simple words. And no I did not feel bad that you said this." Tarun replied…plain and simple.
"Can we chat for sometime? I would like very much to talk to a friend right now…you know help me sort my feelings?" Simi was super excited to hear this from Tarun… atleast he is willing to be friends with her…all hope wasn't lost…Stop girl…what are you doing…you are again in your land thinking about this amazing yet married man.
"I would like that very much Tarun. Friends?" she spoke offering her hand in friendship. Tarun took her hand in his and shook it, squeezing it slightly…as if reassuring that he did not mind her speaking out of turn.
"Can I add something? Kissi se pyar karma aur uske badle who pyar wapas milne ki koi bhi gunjhaish na hona iska dukh mein samjhti hoon. And moreover, tum to apne hi haathon apni khushiyon ka gala ghontne jaa rahe ho….dont be surprised Tarun…over the past few months Rano and I have become very good friends and she let me in on this little secret of yours. Also, when mom was here she told me everything about your and Binita's relationship. You have no idea how much respect you have gained in my eyes. Tarun, please if you ever need anything from me…bejijakh ho ke maangna. I will always be there to support you whenever you need it…it's a friend's promise."
Tarun was overwhelmed when he heard these words. Here he was thinking to himself how lonely he would be once Binita left him…but he had just gained a new friend in the bargain. He wanted to talk to Simi about his feelings, he knew she understood and her eyes told him this. He added trying to lighten up the mood a little,
"Simi, tum to pyaar ki baatein aise kar rahi ho jaise tumne khud pyaar mein chot khayi hain." The sudden stiffening of Simi's face and body caught him. He had unknowingly hit the nail where it hurt the most. "Sorry if I am intruding now. I was just trying to be friendly…you know" not sure how to continue. This was new to him…he had been with other women…but never as friends. Binita was his friend, but it was different with her since their relationship started off based on professional grounds and then they were almost a family.
"Chot nahin Tarun, meine to apne pyaar ka ishaar hi nahi kiya hai…actually I don't even know if it is love or something else…simply put I too have to sort my feelings."
"Maybe I can help?"
"Maybe… (and who else)" the later was almost a thought. "Anyways…coming back to you…do you wish to talk now? Or maybe some other time? I am a patient listener let me tell you that…it has been years of practice in my field."
"And I can continue talking forever…considering what my profession is. Even the presiding judge has a hard time to silence me." (sorry for the bad joke friends)
This playful banter between the new friends was being observed by someone who, obviously, did not like what he saw.
"If I may interrupt this unbashful flirting you are indulging in Tarun…then let me remind you that you had promised your WIFE to take care of YOUR SON."
"Well…well…well. So are you, the Jai might Walia, giving up so easily. Since a while ago, you were the one who were trying to remind me that it was YOUR SON I was raising. And if I remember right, you are the one who asked Binita to leave him behind. So what happened now? Looks like you already gave up." This brought about a reaction in Jai that Tarun had wished for.
"Yeh bacche palna tumhara kaam nahi hai Jai…do mujhe…right sonny boy?" Tarun tried to take Krish away from Jai.
"No need…as is you have done a lot of favors on me and my son and since he is MY son…I will manage…I do not need your help in this matter." And Jai took off from there.
Simi was confused by what transpired in front of her. She was almost sure that Tarun did what he did, just to irk Jai. But that was still very callous of him to use Krish in this manner. She almost prepared herself to reprimand Tarun when he spoke up
"Simi, I am sure you have something to say about how I just behaved. But I can explain…bus ab nahi...phir kabhi." Saying this Tarun walked away from there.
