The car went along a path Bani was not familiar with. It stopped and a man opened the door for her. She walked into the room and it was pitching dark. Then the spotlight fell on her and she saw nothing around her except bright light. Another spotlight then shone on…Riya
Bani: Sweetie, what are you doing here?
Riya: Oh mommy, Jai uncle came and picked me and he told me that we surprise you and so I came here with him and we are here as a surprise to you.
Bani: Oh honey. That is so sweet. I thought you were going for a sleepover though…
Riya: They told me to do that.
Bani: Oh…
Just then the spotlight fell on a third thing, it was a huge cake and around it were flowers and balloons. A voice came from behind somewhere, Bani instantly knew the voice was of Jai Walia.
Jai: Happy Birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday Dear Bani, happy birthday to you.
Bani: Oh my god, Mr. Walia… yeh sab karne ki ka jarrorat thi?
Jai: Bani, tumhare liye yeh to kuch bhi nahi hai.
Bani: Mr. Walia, aap… main to itni shocked hoon ki main kya bolo mujhe maloom hi nahin hai. Aap jab subhe aaye to mujhe laga tha ki aap bhul gaye ki aaj mera birthday hain. And Riya bhi yaha par hain.
Jai: Bani, I don't want to just spend time with you but I want to spend time with my family.
Bani: We are not a family Mr. Walia. Its been just me and Riya all these years, we are the family.
Jai: Bani, we are a family, you just don't want to admit it yet. But we wont ruin the night with that yet. I want to keep you happy, give you all that you deserve.
Riya was getting bored watching the two of them talk to each other.
Riya: Can we do the next part? I am excited! Can we Jai uncle??
It hurt both Jai and Bani to see Riya call Jai uncle instead of dad but there was nothing they could do about it. Riya was a kid and as soon as she is told about the truth she might spill it in front of Tarun's mom. They had to continue these facades for a while.
Jai: Okay beta, lets do it. Bani I want you to sit down on that sofa there.
Bani: What sofa? It is still dark in here except for us.
Jai: Oh right, lights!
The lights turn on and the entire room lights up. It is a Huge hall filled with a lot of balloons and decorations. Bani turned around and saw the couch that she was supposed to go sit on. She couldn't stop the tears of happiness forming in her eyes but she wouldn't allow them to fall down.
Riya: Mommy, are you ready?
Bani: For what?
Riya: Okay, uncle what do we do now?
Jai: This goes out for the most important person in my life, Bani Walia. You are the most important person in my life so here goes our present to you. Ready, Riya?
Riya and Jai lined up on the stage and out of nowhere the music started playing.

it was one of the cutest thing Bani had ever seen. Jai had Riya in his arms and he was dancing with her, trying to salsa and waltz with a small kid. Jai and Riya ended the dance by pulling Bani off her seat and getting her to dance. The night passed so quickly while the three of them enjoyed together.
Bani: Mr. Walia, you were right…
Jai: About?
Bani: It does feel like a family. Riya fell asleep, we should probably be getting back.
Jai: One last thing.
Bani: What?
Jai: Kuch na kaho, kuch bhi na kaho

Bani remained silent with tears forming in her eyes. She remembered the first time he had sung that song, the love that she had felt for him had started around that time, and it never stopped growing, now listening to it again.
