Ekta does have a fertile imagination (pun intended!).
Refer KTH episode a few days back...ie, if u r still watching that show....Mehek, Kashish's sis who's married to Varun pulled a fast one on him. He's told by the doc himself that their baby is dead...after Mehek fell over the sofa on her stomach (her second accident). In reality that baby's alive. She simply said this so that Varun won't demand the baby later.
My point is this--what if Ekta's doing the same thing in Kasamh se? What if Bani's told the doc to lie to Jai?? U might wonder why she would do this. (Truth to tell, I'm grasping at straws as I, like the rest of u, very much want the child to live.)
But, if this is how the storyline goes, cud Bani's (and the uncreative team's ) reasoning be that:
1. If Jai thinks the baby's gone, he won't insist that Bani takes the money once it's returned to him. The moment he receives Bani's alimony, he'll find out the truth behind the whole charade, won't he? won't he then insist Bani keep all that money? Since she has no interest in the money, and if Jai thinks there's no baby, then Bani can go away and start a new life.
2. As Bani can't live with Jai on account of her mother's death at Jai's hands, the question of Bani returning to Jai does not arise. Once again, once Jai finds out the truth behind Bani's actions, he'll want her back and 'undivorce her'. If there's no baby, that may not happen.
3. Thinking the baby's dead gives Jai reason to be angry with her and gives Ekta a chance to drag on their love-hate relationship.
4. Gives Ekta and her uncreative team an excuse to introduce the Jai-Pia angle...a case of rebound on Jai's part.
uuf...I'm running out of reasons to keep the baby alive....like I said, I feel like a drowning man grasping desperately at straws!!
