Part 10
Anjali is so excited she could move her hand. It is taking her alot of effort but she tries to move her fingers one by one. Her dad is looking at her in shock. His eyes gets moist and without taking his eyes off his daughters hand he carefully sists himself on her bed. He just can't believe his eyes. The overwhelming feeling of gratitude is preventing him to even speak. He thanks God for His gift and prays for the complete recoverment of his small princess.
Bani keeps looking from daughter to father and back. A huge smile is drawn on her face and her eyes are twinkling. She is happy that after so many days Anjali seems to be coming back to become the rose she once was. Mr. Walia has told her alot of things about his daughter and she with every small tale he told her, her wish to see Anjali like she used to grew bigger and bigger.
It's late and the people at the party wonder what is taking Jai Walia so long to come and cut his daughters cake. Pia is becoming restless. She couldnt find one cute guy in the huge party and Rano was irritating her with her million questions. Pia felt so imbarresed because of Rano everybody could guess they came from a village. It took her great effort to control herself, but in the end she just shouted at her little sisters and both of them kept as far from each other as possible.
Pia looks around her with a bored face. Her feets are killing her, which makes her even more grumpy. She looks at a group of girls that seem to have the giggles and she wonders which guys must be around that has drawn so much female attention. She doesnt have to look around for long as her eyes fall on a young guy looking absolutely dashing. A smile spreads on Pia's face and she gets the feeling that the evening might not have been spoiled yet.
Rano is feeling very upset with Pia and thinking to herself that Bani didi would never feel ashamed of her. She wonders why they had to come to this stupid city. It seems only to drive the three of them apart. Bani is always busy with her work and if she was at home mr. Walia would drop by with his daughter and take Bani out with them. Pia was always out. She never came to college and never came home at time. Rano thinks to herself that she really needs to tell Bani about Pia skipping college. She didn't say a word till now, because she didnt want to trouble her sister more. Rano takes a deep breath and frowns even more, while she wonders when they will finally go home. 'Stop frowing. It makes you look even more ugly.' Rano feels how a hot breath blows in her ear. She turns around to face her worst nightmare. Sahil is grinning in her face, that is becoming as red as a tomatoo. Rano stummbels in an attempt to say something back. Sahil starts laughing out loud. 'I already knew you are ugly, but stupid too? Come on Rano, you are supposed to teach me remember!' Sahil doesn't seem to realise what impact his words have Rano. She feels terrible, but at the same time she doesn't have the courage to say something back. According to her every words he is saying is right. She thinks she is indeed ugly and stupid, otherwise Pia wouldnt have been ashamed of her and called her a stupid cow infront of everybody! 'Listen, specy. I need to stay in the team and for that I have to prove to the dean that Im studying, so meet me tomorrow at the college library at 4 pm sharp. Dont dare to come late, because Sahil never waits!' Without waiting for a reply he turns around and walks towards the dozens of girls that are totally drooling over him.
Rano wipes the tears out of her eyes and decides to go home. Just as she is about to go to the kitchen looking for Bani she sees her sisters wearing a beautiful saree waling down the stairs holding Anjali gently and followed by mr. Walia.
While everybody is enjoying their cake and busy talking about the improvement of the Walia daughter, Jai is busy eyeing Bani who is feeding his daughter. He is so happy that there is finally a person who could reach to his daughters heart and bring her back to reality. He noticed how shocked his guests were when they saw his daughter cut the cake herself. He felt so pride at that moment all the words in the world couldn't express his happiness. Little did they guests and especially his sister know that there was another suprise for them. Jai walked towards the stage where a band was playing and took over the mic. He addressed his guests once again and announced to them that he has taken the decision to employ Bani Dixit to fully take care of his daughter. He has given her all the authorities to take each and every decision that she thinks is right for his daughter. In order to clear any future confusions he will officially introduce his daughters "nurse" to them. Bani is shocked to hear mr. Walia's words. She keeps starring at him, while he gives her a sprakling smile and winks at her. With a small nod her encourages her to come towards the stage. Bani feels how atleast a hundred pair of eyes are starring at her. With her eyes fixed on the ground and her heart pounding in her throat she walks towards mr. Walia.
