Part 27
Bani stood against her door, listening carefully if Jai was up already. She had been avoiding him for the past three days. Thinking of his kiss still made her heart skip a beat and the butterflies fight in her tummy. After denying it all this while she now knew very well that she had fallen for Jai Walia, but she didn't want him to know about it. He seemed to be avoiding her just as much. He didn't have dinner at home for the last couple days. Whenever it was dinnertime, he would call up Anjali and make a stupid excuse for not making. Normally it was Bani who picked up the phone, but now whenever the phone rang she always pretended to be busy somewhere. She wanted to hear his voice badly, but at the same time she didn't have a clue what to say to him. 'Bani aunty! Just come out of your bedroom. My dad has left since ages!' Bani felt how her cheeks turned crimson. She wondered how Anjali had found out she was trying to avoid her dad. Bani quickly ran into her bathroom and tried to cool her face with cold water. She then walked out of her bedroom as if she hadn't heard Anjali yelling. She walked into the kitchen and saw how Anjali and Pushkar were sitting at having breakfast. 'Both of them grinned when she came walking in. Bani greeted them shortly and avoided to sit at the table at once. She opened the fridge to make herself some eggs. Pushkar noticed Jai walking towards them and took action. 'Don't bother gorgeous. I've already made you breakfast. So give me a kiss as a thank you and come sit next to me.', he said with a loud and happy voice. Pushkar tried hard to control his laugh, while from the corner of his eyes he could see a jealous Jai standing in the kitchen door. 'Well thank you sexy.' Bani turned around and planted a kiss on Pushkars cheek. She then noticed Jai starring at her and wished the floor would just open and swallow her. Both of them starred at each other, while Anjali and Pushkar had the best time ever. 'Goodmorning papa!' Jai took his eyes off Bani and hugged his daughter. Bani had lost her appetite and gave Pushkar a killer look. As she knew very well that he and Anjali had fooled her. Without speaking a word she left the kitchen. Pushkar was highly amused and on seeing Jai's face he continued his drama. 'Hey gorgeous wait for me. I need to talk to you about our dinner this evening!' He rushed out of the kitchen, while Anjali bursted out laughing. Jai who was the least amused asked his daughter what she found so funny. 'Bani aunty and Pushkar uncle are going out on a date!', she said while keeping her fingers crossed behind her back. Her dad just sighed deeply and left for his work.
'Bani aunty! Please speak to me!' Bani was still angry with both Pushkar and Anjali. The fact that the both of them kept making fun of her all morning long didn't really work in their favor. 'Comeone gorgeous. Show me your smile once before I leave.' Bani smiled fakely which made Pushkar crack up even more. He kissed both girls goodbye and left to the restaurant. Not even 15 minutes later the phone rang and Anjali picked up. 'Bani aunty. It's Pushkar uncle, he wants to speak to you.' Bani took over the phone. 'Yes?' Bani could hear how Pushkar was highly amused with her cranky mood. 'Are you still not smiling?' Bani wanted to kill Pushkar. 'No', she answered back in cold voice, before she put the phone down. The phone rang again instantly. 'Yes?' It was Pushkar again. His sounded serious and concerned this time. 'Hey Bani. I'm sorry if I hurt you. I was just pulling your leg yaar. Please don't be upset with me.' A little smile broke through Bani's face, while she remembered that morning. She had to admit that Anjali and Pushkar had really fooled her and embarassed her infront of Jai, but she couldn't stay angry with them for long. 'Alright I forgive you this time.' Pushkar laughed and cut the call. Bani was about to put the phone back, when it started ringing again. 'Yes?' 'Hey gorgeous, you forgot to call me sexy and give me one of your sparkling smiles.' Bani shook her head in disbelieve. 'Hey sexy, I've smiled. Anything eles?' Pushkar enjoyed himself. 'Say you love me!' Bani burst out laughing and cut the call at once, but it started ringing again. She rolled her eyes and with a huge smile on her face she once again picked up the phone. 'I love you! Are you happy now? Now go and leave me to do my work!' There was a silence at the other end of the line and Bani closed her eyes wishing that it wouldn't be Jai. 'Bani? I've called to tell you that my friend from Dubai is having dinner with us this evening.' Bani felt how her cheeks where burning. She hesistantly turned and looked at Anjali, who was holding a phone too and listening to the conversation. Anjali put her hand infront of her mouth to prevent herself from breaking into giggles. 'Eehh Bani, if you have plans you can go ahead. I'll have the food ordered from the restaurant.' Bani tried to find her tongue to reply. 'No ... no mr. Walia. I'll prepare the food myself.' If Bani hadn't been too busy with Anjali who was imitating her, she would have noticed the happiness in Jai's voice while he thanked her. 'I really appreciate it Bani. I'll see you this evening. Bye.' Jai hung up and Bani ran to her room in shame, leaving an overjoyed Anjali telling Pushkar about the latest gossips of the Walia household.
