Part 3 -

In the car...

J: So, what would you like to eat? Chinese, Thai, Indian, Italian...
B: Mmm.. what would you like?
J: Well, if you ask me I love Chinese.
B: Same here! But my second most favourite dish would be Italian..
J: Well then, I guess we might as well go to a Chinese restaurant.
B: Okay..

Jai and Bani arrive at a Chinese restaurant. Jai pulls out Bani's chair for her and they both take a seat.

B: Hmm..let's see, what do we have in the menu..
J: Chowmin, Fried Rice, Egg Roll, Chilli Chicken, Manchurin..
B: I think I'll have some Chowmin and Chilli Chicken.
J: I'll have some Fried Rice and an Egg Roll.
...
J: Waiter! [Calls a Waiter] Please get us a plate each of Fried Rice, Egg Roll, Chowmin and Chilli Chicken.
W: Is that all, sir?
J: Umm, Bani would you like some drinks?
B: [Thinking..] I'll have some Diet Cola.
J: And me one Sprite.
W: Is that all, sir?
J: Yes it is..
W: Okay sir, your order will be ready in 20 minutes.
J: Thank you..
Waiter leaves..
J: Bani, you know you're not fat..
B: I never said I was dieting..
J: Then why are you having Diet Cola instead of just plain Coke?
B: Less Calories...
J: [Amused] I see... [Thinks to himself] Girls..always thinking about their figure..
Time passes by as both Jai and Bani remain silent
B: Vaise Jai, can I ask you a question? You won't mind, will you?
J: No, go ahead.
B: [Calmly] How come.. you suddenly made a plan of taking me out? Like, out of nowhere?
J: [Surprised at her question] [Sighs..] You see, Bani...
The food arrives suddenly..
W: Here's your food, Ma'am, Sir.
J: Thank you very much..
W: You're welcome sir.

Both Jai and Bani eat in silence after having their conversation interrupted by the food.. A while later a man in a black suit comes up to Jai and Bani.

Man: You both look great together as a couple.. how long have you been married?
J & B: [Together] Actually, we aren't married.
M: Oh, I see. No worries, you'll get married soon..
J: Actually she's not my girlfriend.. [At the same time as Bani]
B: He's not my boyfriend.. [At the same time as Jai]
M: Oh I see, just a friendly date?
J: Yeah...
M: Well, hope you guys enjoy yourselves.. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate..
J: Sure..

That man was actually the Manager.

After eating, a soft music plays and people gather on the dance floor for a slow dance...

J: Care for a dance?
B: [Surprised] Umm.. Sure..

Both Bani and Jai dance to the slow music...

B: [Quietly..] Jai...
J: Yes Bani..
B: [Calmly] You're stepping on my foot, Jai..
J: [Looks down] Oh! I'm so sorry Bani... [Withdraws his foot]
B: [Laughingly] It's okay...
Silence for a few minutes..
J: Bani, can I tell you something?
B: Go ahead Jai...
J: Not here, can we go outside?
B: [Sort of Surprised] Ummm.. okay..

Jai takes Bani's hand and takes her outside. They stand by the far left side of the back of the restaurant.

J: Bani, all that happened today... for what I did this morning... I am really sorry...
B: [Thinking] Aww.. he's so sweet, he's apologizing...
J: And what I said about Kiran too, I'm sorry for that..
J: I didn't really mean to hurt your feelings, what I said was meant as a joke..
B: It' okay Jai..I know you didn't mean anything personal, but whenever you say anything, you gotta keep in mind that there's a limit to everything..
J; Yeah, I know.. I realised when you just left me in the middle of the hallway, and how you seemed upset when I came to your house.. I just thought that if I took you on a date, it'll lighten your mood up, and you'll forgive me..
B: Aww, that's so sweet of you Jai.. of course I'll forgive you Jai, after all this that you did, I'd be a moron if I didn't..
J: I'm sorry...
Jai gives Bani a looooong, sweet hug...
B: Come, let's go inside, we have to leave soon too.. Mom must be waiting at home..
J: Yeah, let's go..

Hey Guys... Thanx for all the lovely comments, they've really encoruaged me alot... sorry for the long wait - cudn't think of a way of introducing Priya 😛 - but, finally have thought of one... so, here goes Part 4.. hope you enjoy! Oh, and... I'm adding more characters.. like Max and Priya.. Priya you already know, but Max, he's Jai's lil brother... here's the description of the characters Max and Priya.

Bani's Sister Pooja - Smart, mature, responsible girl. 28 years of age. She has suffered a lot in life herself, but she never accepts defeat and believes that if something doesn't favour you in life, forget about it and move on... Life will have many more things in store for you. After losing her husband and her child, she has decided that life has left her nothing in her marital life, and thus decides to move on in her career.. being a doctor..

Jai's Brother Max - Is 18 and not that smart of a boy... falls head over heels when it comes to girls. Basically, he has a new girlfriend every weekend. He looks up to his older brother in bad times, but at the same time can't stay away from his mischevious habits, especially when they're not needed. May look like a mean guy from the outside, but is very clean at heart

Friday Afternoon

Jai, Bani and some other friends were in the students lounge after getting kicked out of the library. Classes were done, and they were all just spending a little "quality time" together before leaving college.

Vinay: Hey Yaar... you shoudln't have gone so close to her after what she did to you..
Parth: I know man.. but I love her..
Bani: Girls Girls Girls!! Is that all you guys can think of? Subah me bath kare to girls... shaam ko bath kare to girls.. is there anything else in your mind except for girl?
Jai: There is..
Parth: FOOODD!!
Bani: ... [Rolling her eyes]
Jai: Hey Bani, you're talking about us? Look at you girls, all you girls do all day is day-dream about boys... no wonder you flop in class. If you're not gonna pay attention, how are you going to learn? Hmm? [Making a sarcastic expression]
Pritha: That's not always true, Jai.
Jai: As per my experience?! Oh yes, it is..
Bani: As per my experience?! Hmm?! [Pinches Jai]
Jai: Owwww!! Ok... okay...
Jai: Well, its true sometimes..
Bani narrows her eyes at Jai.
Jai: [Plying along] Actually all the time..
Bani: That's it Jai! Not a word more! [Covers his mouth with her hand]
J: Oooff Bani! [Takes her hand off] Max's not even here..
B: Doesn't matter.. you know how he ends up anywhere anytime.. Like right now, he's right there with some girl..
J: What? [Turns around] Hmmm.. I'll go see him!
B: I'll come too.. [Worried what Jai might do to Max]

……

M: …. Oh yes, he's a wonderful guy! What a coincidence! The person we're talking about is coming right towards us..

"Priya" turns around to see Jai and Bani coming towards.

J: Hello.. [To Priya] .. Max, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in class?
M: Bhaiyya, my classes are over.. [Sarcastically]
J: So what? Shouldn't you be studying? You have exams coming up, right? Go, go study, go now..
M: But Bhaiyya..
J: Max, no excuses.. go on now..

Max leaves.

P: Was HE your brother?
J: Yes he was..
P: Very sweet guy.. he showed me around college.
B: Oh, so – [Jai covers her mouth w/ his hand]
J: So you're new?
B: [Confused] ..
P: Yes, today's my first day.. ame's Priya.
J: What a pretty name.. My name is Jai and this is Bani [Pointing to Bani] Priya, want me to introduce you to some of the teachers? I believe my brother wouldn't have known some of them..
P: Umm… sure.
B: Priya, what a pretty name.. could you excuse us for a minute?
P: Sure,…
Bani pulls Jai to the side.
J: [Whispers] What are you doing!?
B: [Whispers] ME?! What are YOU doing? Jai, it's almost 5, and you know that today's Di's birthday. We have to make preparations for the party… you know I can't do it all alone…
J: Who says you're gonna be alone? Pritha, Parth, Vinay, Ruby and Max are going to be there too.. and plus, your mother will be there too.
B: Please Jai, of you're there it will be done WAY quicker… please??
J: Oh come on Bani, I don't think the presence of one person will make such a big difference… Don't worry, I'll be at the party sharp 8 o'clock… okay? Okay.. bye!!
B: Jai –

Jai leaves.

After that, Bani goes back home, she stands by her windows missing Jai like crazy when she spots him – with Priya.

B: Stupid Liar…
