Part 7:

Bani has just come back home and is on her bed staring at her lovely red rose that she got from Jai. She is surrounded by Pia and rano, who keeps on asking who gave her the flower. Bani refuses to say so, but Pia knows.

Pia: rano, could you go away for awhile, I need to talk to di.
Rano: why do I have to leave? What do you have to tell her that you can't say in front of me?
Pia: please, rano!
Rano: (whines and then leaves)

Pia moves closer to bani.

Pia: What did you two talk about?
Bani: I don't know. Lots of stuff.
Pia: you're so lucky to have him.
Bani: pia, I think he only thinks of me as a friend.
Pia: don't be silly! He totally likes you! …you know, you were gone for an awfully long time.
Bani: I know because we couldn't stop talking. I might had stayed longer, if I didn't see Vijay.
Pia: (becomes happy) Vijay?
Bani: yeah, Vijay's here. I left so he wouldn't see me.
Pia: what was he doing at the coffee shop?
Bani: I don't know.

Then there is a knock on the door. "Come in!," Pia yells. Vijay comes into the room and stands near the bed. Both Pia and bani get off the bed. It's pia's turn to blush.

Pia: Vijay? When did you come here?
Vijay: I just arrived. Pia, could you excuse me and bani. I need to talk to her,….alone.
Pia: (looks at bani to Vijay) …sure.

Pia leaves the room and shuts the door behind her. She puts her ear next to it, to listen. Rano joins her also.

Bani: Vijay, what are you doing here in Mumbai?
Vijay: Thought I'd come to see how everything's going.
Bani: everything here is fine.
Vijay: (angry) I saw you at the coffee shop with some guy!
Bani: (stunned)
Vijay: Who was he? And what the hell were you doing with him?!
Bani: (becomes angry) Nothing! And who are you to ask me?! I can meet whoever I want, whenever I want!
Vijay: Don't mess with me, Bani! I don't want to see you with him, again! I don't want to see you with any other guy!
Bani: What's your problem, Vijay?! Why are you trying to control my life?!
Vijay: I'm not, I just don't want you to see him.
Bani: Too bad, because I'm going to be seeing him a lot more often now!
Vijay: no, you're not!
Bani: I'd love to see you try to stop me!
Vijay: Why are you doing this to me?
Bani: What am I doing?!
Vijay: why are you torturing me like this?! Going out with other guys, when you very well know that I love you! Dammit, Bani! (kicks the bed)
Bani: (voice trembles because she is a little scared of Vijay) ..but I don't love you, Vijay.

Vijay looks at Bani with tears in his eyes. He puts both of his hands on bani's shoulders and pleads to her.

Vijay: no, bani. Please don't say that.
Bani: (begins crying) it's the truth! I don't love you, and I never will!

Vijay starts shaking bani in anger.

Vijay: Why don't you?! What's wrong with me?! Huh?!
Bani: (crying like crazy) there's nothing wrong with you! You're handsome, smart, fun to be around, any girl would love you, but not this girl. I don't know why, but I just don't love you. But I know one girl who loves you with all her heart, and that's Pia! She's been in love with you since forever, but you've never noticed, you ignore her like if she doesn't exist!
Vijay: But I don't love pia! I love you, bani. I want you.
Bani: You can't force me to love you, Vijay. That's not how love works, you don't force someone to love you.

Vijay becomes angry and takes the lamp and smashes onto the ground. Bani becomes scared and moves away from Vijay. She starts crying more. Suraj and Pooja hear yelling and smashing noises and join Rano and pia in listening to what is happening. Pia stops everyone from going inside. "Let them settle this," she tells them.

Vijay: What have I not done for you, Bani? I have given you money, supported you and your sisters!
Bani: (getting angry) Well, did I ask you to do so?! I didn't ask for your money or to support me and my sisters! You did that by yourself! So don't you dare hold that against me!
Vijay: (silent)

Bani falls onto the ground and hugs her knees to her chest. She cries her heart out. Vijay's anger slowly calms down. He realizes that he has hurt bani, and he starts feeling guilty. Vijay walks over to bani and bends down. He puts his hand on her shoulder.

Vijay: I'm sorry, bani.

Bani shrugs his hand off her shoulder.

Bani: Don't touch me. (she cries) I don't want you to touch me, talk to me, or even try to meet me ever again. I don't even want to be friends with you anymore.
Vijay: bani, please don't say that. I just go out of control. I promise it won't ever happen again.
Bani: no, Vijay. I mean it. Just please leave me alone.

Vijay doesn't move a muscle, he stays put. Bani looks up and sees that he's still there.

Bani: GO! (she yells and then starts crying)

Vijay slowly gets up and walks over to the door. He opens the door and sees everyone behind it. He sees his bhaiya and bhabi looking quite worried, Rano pissed off, and Pia in tears looking at Vijay desperately. Vijay looks away from Pia, not ready to face her. Rano pushes Vijay aside and runs to Bani. Suraj and Pooja walk in to comfort Bani. Pia stays put right in front of Vijay's way. She is looking at him in disgust. She continues to look at him for a few seconds and then slaps him hard across his face.

Pia: how dare you talk to my di like that? How dare you hurt her?!

Vijay opens his mouth to say something, but Pia doesn't let him.

Pia: I don't want to hear anything! Just leave! Go back to Mount Abu, and don't try to meet anyone of us ever again, especially Bani di!

Vijay looks back at a crying bani and at a hurt pia. He walks out of the room. Suraj and Pooja follow Vijay. Pia watch them walk down the hallway and then shuts the door behind her. She runs over to Bani's aid. She hugs Bani and tries to comfort her.


i hope that you guys don't think this part is stupid. 😕 i'll try to make the next part better.
