School has been taking up all my time, i barely have time for myself anymore...well here's the next part, i hope you enjoy it! i wrote it in a bit of a rush, so if the events are going too fast, then please forgive me...
Part 29:
Jai turns his head to the side, looking back to the marble staircase, as he hears murmurs amongst the guests saying, "oh god! Look at her! She's look beautiful! Doesn't she look wonderful?", they'd all say. He uncovers his face a little, so he can get a better look of his dulhan, who was now walking down the staircase, with the help from her bhabi and sisters, her dupatta draped over her head. His heart stopped for a moment, stunned by seeing her. She looks especially more beautiful today than any other time he had spent with her. Jai waits patiently for bani to join him in the mandap, which she does, and her two sisters by her side, eyes full of tears of joy.
The pundit continues with the marriage rituals. (sorry, don't really kno what happens in a hindu wedding) They get up and take the saath phere together, jai applies the sinndoor in bani's maang, and finally ties the mangulsutra around her neck, fulfilling the marriage rituals, they were now husband and wife. Jai and bani both take aarishwaad from their elders, seeking blessing for their happy married life. As it is time to leave, jai cannot find his shoes.
Pia: Kya hua, jiju! (trans: What happened, brother-in-law?)
Rano: (mischief gleaming in her eyes) Can't find your shoes?
Jai: Hain, I can't- (looks at them curiously) Alright, where'd u hide them?
Pia: What are you talking about, Jiju? (stressing the word Jiju)
Jai: (sighs, reaches into his pocket and pulls out his money) Here you go, can I now please have my shoes?
Jai hands pia and rano both a roll of bills. They begin to count them, greedily.
Pia: (shocked) Jiju, this is like more than - it's - Thanks jiju!
Rano: Wow! 50000 rupees?! (lol taking your idea got2go2go)
Jai: (clears his throat) uh, my shoes?
Pia: oh hain! Rano, go get them!
Rano leaves to go fetch them and comes back after awhile, with jai's shoes in her hands.
Mausi: (giggling) Tum dono bhi nah! (referring to pia and rano, pinching their cheeks)
It is now bani's vidya and she is sobbing in suraj and pooja's arms, hugging them tightly. She didn't want to leave them, she was too attached to them. They were her family which she loved from the bottom of her heart. Pooja and Suraj, who are also crying, wipe away bani's tears and soothe her, telling her that they will still meet. Pia and rano, who can't stop the tears from flowing, also join in the family moment.
Pooja: Don't forget us, okay? (she tells bani)
Bani nods her head like a little child, listening obediently to her mother.
Suraj: Take care of your family and husband…(tears welling in his eyes)
Bani: (promises) I will….
Pooja: Visit us sometimes.
Bani: Of course I will.
Suraj: We'll miss you.
Bani: (more tears forming) I'll miss you too. ..
She hugs them once more. Suraj seats Bani into the black limo where Jai was waiting patiently for her, so they could go home. Before shutting the car door, signaling for the driver to drive off, Suraj wipes away bani's tears and kisses her affectionately on her forehead. He shuts the door and takes his place next to Pooja, Vijay, rano and pia (who will be joining the Walia family the next day) , all with tears in their eyes. Bani rolls the window down and waves a goodbye as the limo begins to drive away. She sits back against the seat, as her family becomes out of sight, weeping silently to herself. She becomes startled for a second as she hears Jai's deep voice.
Jai: Bani…
Bani stares at him with her now red eyes, still filled with tears, trying to choke down the tears. She begins to cry even more when Jai kisses away her tears and pulls her into a hug, wanting to soothe her. He strokes her hair as she sobs into her chest, her arms wrapped around him tightly.
Jai: (whispers into her ear) It's alright….there's no need to cry, you'll still see them…
Bani takes her head off his chest and faces him once again.
Bani: Why do the girls have to leave their homes? It's not fair…(she complains, lays her head back down)
Jai: (shrugs his shoulders) It's just tradition…
Bani: I hate traditions…
Jai grins and pulls bani's face up, meeting with her teary eyes. He kisses her trembling lips, deepening it after a moment or two. After what seems to be an eternity, jai pulls back and gazes at his beautiful wife. He pushes back a strand of her hair and smiles at her.
Jai: You won't be missing your home for too long, Mrs. Walia…I promise you that.
