LOVE IS BLIND

By special correspondent

"Love dissolves all differences" – Jai Walia

The day following the tryst with his pretty wife Bani Walia, we caught Mr.Jai Walia-the great industrialist lazing by his pool and had an intimate chat with him about his personal life, his love life, his likes and dislikes, the dogs he has reared in his mansion with special emphasis on his feelings regarding his nocturnal project the previous night.

When we inquired of him as to what it felt to get down dirty at the ancient age of forty, Mr.Walia, radiating confidence as always said matter of factly that it was not planned "There really was no time to think about the age gap between us. Moreover I think love dissolves all differences". Though he admits that because he had been out of practice for nearly seven years he was nervous initially "But my wife Bani put all that to rest in a jiffy like she always does when I'm in trouble." he gushes. Didn't it hurt his ego to have a woman almost twice his junior throwing tantrums at him and accusing him of infidelity? Mr.Walia's mouth curl in to that much celebrated smile that makes women go weak in the knees as he says with a careless sweep of his hand "I loved it! And anyway I am used to my pet wild cat - Jigyasa doing that all the time." As an afterthought he adds with a wink" At least Bani's was so much more classy and controlled. Actually I won't mind if Mrs.Walia treats me to more of them!"

As the subject of pets comes up we ask him why does a rich self-made man like him have to put up with his rather unruly pets? He only shrugs and says that this is the price of philanthropy and he has got used to them. He would feel strange if he did not hear his wild cat's routine screams or his pet fox Ranvir's wonted whines. Which among them would he like to get rid of and why? Mr.Walia offers without hesitation that he would say goodbye to his pet rattle snake Roshni Cobra anyday "Buying and keeping her for a pet was a huge mistake committed by me in my immature days. She is dangerous and venomous to say the least. It is sad that my unfortunate affinity to the tubelight prevented me from realizing this truth for years." He shakes his head moodily.

We now move on to his rather undocile pet which had been to him a source of great embarassment and pain- Pia Dixit. What does he have to say about this ravishing young bitch? "I have no opinion about her." he thunders. "And she is not my pet anymore. She chose to run away with a poor forsaken ass. And she will pay for it!"

We hastily change the subject to his business partners. Was it true that in his less inexperienced days he had been involved with the Cobras who have a dubious reputation in society, in setting up a dahi bada shop at park road beside the gandi gali? Mr.walia's mouth falls open and his face aquires a nasty red colour and before he can spit fire we change the subject again. Who lit the candles in his bedroom? Mr.Walia shifts his wait uncomfortably and says with an embarassed laugh "Actually i had instructed my doggie Tony to switch off all the lights and light the candles after dark. Because I have heard that snakes are extremely scared of fire and light. This might just keep the cobras especially his pet rattle snake away."

Will he risk a inter-species copulation withPia Dixit at the cost of his spotless reputation? Now uch more in control of himself he denies any connection with his estranged canine vehemently but a second later he retracts his statement "I just might. It is all in the hands of my family priestess Ekta kapoor. She is rather eccentric and I cannot really go against her." He says with a worried frown.

In the hopes of bringing the interview to a close on a sweet note we ask him if his relationship with Bani Walia is forever? "My pets may do all they like but I hope to make her the mother of my children."

he concludes as a cute old fashioned middle aged blush spreads across his rather attractive face.
