"Bijiā¦tu sou gayiā¦" Masi said barging into the room.
"Nahiā¦thora araam kar rahi hoon. Tera kaam khatham hogaya?" dadi asked, followed by deep yawn.
Masi sat on the bed, stretching her legs. "Haan. Bani ko bhi upaar bhej diya. Bijiā¦aaj maaza aagayaā¦Bani ne Roshni ko kaise bida kardi. Jai toh dekhta hi reh gayaā¦aur teri bahuā¦Jigyasaā¦who toh Bani ko aise dekh rahi thiā¦jaise ki abhi Bani ko do char tamache maar doon. Sachā¦bijiā¦yeh larki sahi haiā¦munna, Jigyasa aur iss parivaar ki liye."
Dadi yawned again, "Haan kaha tha na tujheā¦yeh larki mei takat hai Jai aur Jigyasa ko thikane pei lana. Who Jigyasa ne apna ghar toh barbaad kar diya aur apne Bhai ka bhi karna hai." Dadi said with a bitter laugh.
Masi smiled sadly too, "Haan bijiā¦mujhe hi tabh Jigyasa ko ghar se bahaar nikal dena chahiye thaā¦tabh usse pata hotaā¦ki bahar log kaise zindagi bitate haiā¦paisa saab kuch nahi haiā¦riste naate kya hote hai who toh pata chalta,"
Dadi patted masi hand, "Chalā¦chor yeh sab. Kal ka plan banaya ya nehi?"
Masi nodded, "haanā¦sochaā¦hum Alibaug jayengeā¦un dono ko lekeā¦"
"maaza ayegaā¦kitne dino se kaha ghumne nahi gayiā¦chal bacho ki saath choti holiday mana lenge."

Jai stood scowling in the bedroom. Someone had decorated it, just like the night of his wedding. He curled his fistsā¦these stupid peopleā¦god knows what idea they get in their head. He went around blowing off the candles and then took off the bedcover and shook it, scattering flower petals on the floor. Tonight he was going to sleep on the bed, he got here first so the bed was hisā¦she can spend the night on the floor. Jai stripped off his kurta and slipped inside the bed and sighed as his back sunk into the softness of the mattress.
A few minutes later he heard the click of the door and steps coming towards the bed. The duvet that covered him was snatched and his eyes flew open to stare at Bani glaring down at him. "Do I have to remind you every night that the bed is mine and you sleep on the floor." Jai crossed his arms across his bare chest. "What are you going to do Bani? I got here firstā¦so I took the bed. And what was the idea of decorating the room, you could have stopped themā¦there wasn't going to be any suhaag raat happening anyway."
Bani eyes glinted hard, "Why are telling me that? Why don't you tell that to your masi? She is the one who so wants to see his munna happy with his wife. And let me tell you, if you don't get out of the bed right nowā¦I will go and tell her truthā¦the real love story of his munna and his wife."
Jai jumped up, towering over her, both of them clashing eyes. "You wouldn'tā¦you promised you would play along while masi was around."
Bani poked his bare chest, her fingernail cutting into his skin. "Yeah I didā¦.and I am playing along. But that doesn't mean in privacy of the bedroom, I have to be extend the play acting. Now take your bedding and go and lie in some corner. I want some peaceful sleep to face the next day."

Next morning everyone sat down for breakfast. Masi stopped Bani from serving breakfast, "Bahuā¦baith jaaā¦Tony ko karne de. Sunoā¦aaj koi office nahi jayegaā¦aaj hum saab mini holiday pe jayenge."
Jai spit out his coffee, "Masiā¦mujhe office jaana zaroori haiā¦meri sari business appointmentsā¦"
Adi thumped Jai on the back, 'Nahi Jaiā¦today no one is coming to workā¦everyone is having a long weekendā¦a special thank you gift from the boss."
Jai almost fainted as he looked at Adi, his face wearing a huge grin. "Are you mad Adi? What kind of nonsense is this? Think of the business loss we will makeā¦keeping the offices closed. My Godā¦are losing tooā¦like rest of them." And he drifted his gaze on Bani and then masi.
"Chill mamajiā¦I think this is great. A weekend of nothing but partyingā¦man we haven't partied at Alibaug for quite a while." Saahil spoke, excited by the prospect of bunking college for the day and no homework. Anu too joined in, "Come on mamajiā¦it will be greatā¦and you and mami can have a mini honeymoonā¦we promise to leave you two guys alone."
It was Bani's turned to choke on the coffee as giggles and chuckles went around the table.
Masi rubbed her hand on Bani's back, soothing her as Bani coughed to get the liquid out of her lungs. "Chalo everyoneā¦taiyaar hojaye. aur Bani betaā¦yeh sari nahi par kuch achi dress pehnaā¦tere paas nahi hotiā¦toh Anu se maang lenaā¦"
Anu jumped up, "Yeahā¦mami come onā¦I have a perfect hot outfit for you. Every guy will be die seeing you in it."
Bani shook her head, "No Anuā¦I will wear one of my dresses."
Masi pushed Bani, "Aree jaanaā¦Anu ki choice pehen le aajā¦khush karde unko aur humko bhi.' Dadi too said chirpily, "Haanā¦ja jaā¦Baniā¦aaj meri Rani jaisiā¦sexy wexy dress hojaā¦who kya kehte haiā¦who chote chote pantsā¦"
Saahil teasing his dadi, "dadi you mean hot pantsā¦" Dadi nodded her head, 'Haanā¦hot pantsā¦" Masi gave dadi a hard stare, "Bijiā¦no hot pantsā¦Walia khandan ki bahu hots pants nahi pehentiā¦"
Saahil whistled, "masiā¦don't be so old fashionedā¦who Alibaug mei toh kitni sari larkiyaanā¦" Masi cutting him off sharply, "Haan I knowā¦Alibaug mei larikyaan kaisa dress pehenti hai."

Bani shifted through the outfits that Anu had piled on the bed, most of them were not much to her liking, unlike Anu she wasn't a beanpole. "Anuā¦I don't think I can fit into any of these." Bani said looking at Anu already wearing shorts and a tank top.
"come on mamiā¦one of this capri's should fit youā¦and the tank tops are loose on meā¦but they should fit you perfectly. Anu picked up light blue colour capri and a white tank top. Bani shook her head, "Don't you have a blouse, short sleeveā¦"
Anu shook her head, "Nahi mamiā¦all I have is thisā¦its sleeveless and its silk." Anu held up a navy blue blouse with a white piping along the collar and front of the blouse.
"I will take thatā¦its more to my liking."
A few minutes later Bani came out, wearing Capri and the top, both fitted her snugly. Anu grinned, "Not bad, it looks way better on youā¦you have boobs mamiā¦unlike meā¦" Bani blushed, "Anu shut upā¦you don't say stuff like that."
Anu rolled her eyes, "Honestly mamiā¦we are both girlsā¦I can say that."

Bani went in to get in Adi's car when masi stopped her, "Nahi Bani...tu munna ki saath aana. Usse bhi company milegi...acha lagega usse."
Bani almost uttered an explicitive...like hell her precious munna would want her sitting in his car. She stood watching as the cars drove off. There was no sign of her husband, may be she should just ask the driver to take her...she couldn't care less if Jai Walia did not have a car to join them. Just then a silver sports coupe screeched to halt and Tarun hopped out, "Wow...Bani you look amazing...I am glad you are still here...thought you might have left already."
Bani shook her head, "You know masi and her idea...she thinks I should accompany her munna. I was thinking of taking the car and leaving him stranded here."
Tarun put his arm casually around Bani, "Tch Bani...so mean of you. But hey I would love to see his face if you had. So where is patidev?"
"Don't know...come lets go Tarun. I hate standing around not doing much." Bani said walking towards Tarun's car.
From his study window, Jai Walia watched as Bani got into Tarun's car. He had been dawdling, reluctant to go out as he knew Bani had been left behind to travel with him...he wasn't about to drive few hours with Bani in the car with him. His eyes narrowed as he saw Tarun lean over and pull the seat belt across Bani and fasten itā¦and why the hell is she smiling at the moron like thatā¦Tarun had been the worst flirt in their college days. He could remember how many girls had come crying to him asking him to make Tarun come to back to themā¦and now his wifeā¦no his ex to be wife was flirting back to Tarun. Jai picked up the keys from the desk and strode out of the study. He was going to follow themā¦make sure Tarun did not make any detours.
Bani found a radio station that played old hindi songs and she hummed along with them as Tarun drove them out of the city. Tarun smiled as he spied Jai's car following themā¦so the old dog was spying on themā¦good that was ideaā¦to make Jai act irrational, get his blood pressure pumping up a bit.
"What are you smiling at Tarun?" Bani asked as she caught the smile on Tarun's face.
"Don't I have a lot to smile about Bani? In a car, with a beautiful girl, beautiful day and love songs playing on the radioā¦what else can a guy want?"
Bani slapped his arm playfully, "Honestly Tarunā¦what a flirt you are. You know Piaā¦and you would get on great."
Tarun pulled a face, 'Nowā¦now Baniā¦I am not a homebreaker. Pia seems happy with Pushkar."
Bani sighed, "Yesā¦I am glad she chose love over money."
Tarun gave her a funny look, "And what about youā¦don't you want love in your life too?"
Bani gave a puckered smile, "Wish I was that lucky! I don't have love or a husband any more."
"Baniā¦if Jai had got over his anger and tried to make the marriage workā¦would you have given it a chance?"
"I guess I would haveā¦I mean most girls grow up knowing that once you do the pheras and tie a mangalsutra around your neckā¦it is for keeps." Bani said, remembering her mother talking about her marriage one day, when Bani had asked her.
"Well I am just waiting for that divorce paper to be signed and then I am going to woo you until you say yes." Tarun teased her. Bani giggled, blushing as well, it felt good to hear a guy say that he would like to marry herā¦even though he might be just saying it in fun.

The car slid in front of a smart set of bungalows in the secluded resort of Alibaug. Tarun opened the car door for Bani. In the distance, Indian ocean simmered blue and silver. "This is so beautifulā¦" Bani exclaimed, shading her eyes against the sun. Tarun put on his dark shades, "Yupā¦it's a paradise alright. Come onā¦lets go and find others. And you can also look at your room."
Tarun opened one of the door of the bunglow. It was cool inside, the air conditioning fanning the heat out. They heard laughter coming from somewhere in the bungalow. "I bet they are on the patioā¦come." Tarun took her hand and guided her out towards the patio and sure enough the family was gathered under umbrellas on a stone patio.
"Areeā¦here comes my bahuā¦where is munna Bani?" masi asked.
Bani coloured, "Woh..jeeā¦masi aate hi hongeā¦" she fumbled a bit. She had forgotten that she was supposed to accompany Jai. Masi scowled, "aane de usseā¦kaan khichunge uskaā¦"
"ither aa Baniā¦baith aur kuch khana aur peena kar leā¦tu bhi Tarun." Dadi called out. Dadi had a floppy hat and goggles on and her bare glistened with sunscreen she had lathered on. She looked carefree and utterly relaxed. "Haan Bani chalā¦kuch nashta kar leā¦munna kaun jaane kabh ayega." The words had just left masi's lips when the door opened again and Jai walked out. He looked stiffly at Tarun and glared slightly at Bani. Masi smiled, "Acha kiya tune munnaā¦bahu ki saath kyun nahi aya?"
Jai smiled at masi, "Kaisa aata masiā¦who bina kahe chalie ayeeā¦" This was his opportunity to put Bani in a spot. Why not let her take the blame for a change. Masi looked at Bani, "kya yehi saach hai Bani? Munna ko bina bataiye chali ayee."
Bani made a sad face, "Kya karu masiā¦meh rah dekh kar thak gayiā¦whho toh study mei baithe raheā¦aur phir Tarun ne lift offer kiā¦toh sochaā¦mei kyun itna saara fun miss karuā¦unko kaam hi karna toh karne dijeyeā¦" Dadi giggled, "meri Raniā¦bahut samart haiā¦dekha Jaiā¦kyun yeh ghar mei baithe raheā¦acha kiya Baniā¦nahi toh kaun jaane kab who tuhje lei aata."
Masi still pretended to scold Bani, "Dekh Baniā¦aisa nahi chaltaā¦abh yeh munna tere haath mei de diyaā¦usko tujhe sambhalana haiā¦kuch shikhana haiā¦acha pati kaise hona." Bani felt like laughing, was masi seriousā¦her making her khadoos nephew change?
