Billo Masi Part 9

Bani gave a sigh as she saw Jai Walia walking down the stairs, looking gorgeous in a cream silk kurta. The colour highlighted his dark toned chiselled features and jet black hair. Masi had made her buy the outfit, saying that Jai's wardrobe was probably full of black or dark colours clothes he favoured to wear.

Tarun whistled lightly behind Bani and then whispered, "I see someone is ogling at the handsome devil." Bani blushed and giggled, "I am allowed to ogle at handsome devil…abhi divorce nahi hua."

Tarun tapped her shoulders, "If I had my way…I would beat him up black and blue and make sure he never even thinks of letting you step outside of this house. Such ullu ka patha as my nani used to say. I think she is right…us men don't have much brains when it comes to women."

That comment set Bani off laughing, she turned, her eyes watering from the laughter, "Sachi Tarun…tum bahut jolly person ho…jitna khadoos dekhte ho waise nahi ho."

Tarun rolled his eyes, "I look khadoos…now I know why girls don't hang around too long near me. Bani…you will have to give me tips to get rid of my ghatia image."

Jai stopped at the bottom of the stairs and watched Bani laugh with Tarun. He couldn't remember if he had ever laughed such freely…well not while in his company. And he felt the same urge he had felt earlier about being annoyed with Tarun for flirting with Bani. Masi put her hand on Jai and beamed a smiled, "Wah…kitna handsome lag raha…bhagwan ka sukar hai…ki aaj tune kala kapre toh nahi pehne…yeh toh kehna hai…Bani ki choice tere ki baat nahi."

"yeh Bani laye hai…" Jai asked. Tony had handed it to him, so he assumed it had been hanging in the wardrobe.

"Haan…hum shopping pe gaye…aur usse dekha aur kharid liya."

The pandit just called out to masi, "Masi…puja ka samay hogay…kaun puja ma baithenge?" Masi looked at pandit, "Aaj mera munna aur uski bahu puja mei baithenga panditji. Yeh unki pehli puja hai."

The pandit smiled, "Nayi nayi shaadi…chalo yeh toh apne bahut acha kiya nah."

"Chal Jai…aur Bani ko bhi bula de." Masi walked off. Jai stared at Bani and Tarun still talking and laughing. He sauntered up to them and coughed, "If you are done flirting with Tarun Bani…masi would like you to come for puja."

Bani turned and gave an icy gaze, "You have a problem with my talking with Tarun Mr Walia?"

"NO! Why should I? But I do not have to remind you…there are other people around."

"And when did it start bothering you what people thought…if I remember you never failed to insult me in a room full of people before…and here I was just having a harmless chitchat with Tarun."

Tarun smirked at Jai, whilst Jai felt as if Bani had just clapped him physically.

"Aree Jai…Bani…chalo nah…panditji tumari wait kar raha hai." Masi called out.

Bani walked past Jai towards the area where puja had been set up. She took masi and dadi blessing and pulling a pallu over her head sat down. Jai sat down beside her.

Masi prodded Jai, "zaara paas mei baithna…dono saath puja kaise karenge." Jai turned and looked at the foot gap between him and Bani and then sidled up little bit close to Bani. Tarun sniggered behind, "watch it Jai…you might catch some bad habits from Bani." That set off few giggles around the room.

The pandit started the pooja, Jai tried to follow as directed but fumbled and had to watch as Bani did with ease. When the pooja ended, Masi stood up and cleared her throat. "Suniye…aap sabne toh meri munna ki shaadi mei hazir the…leiken mei nahi thi aur panditji aap ko jo dhyaan mei ayi woh vivah sanskar karvaye…jisse yeh dono ka bandhan atoot rahe."

Masi turned to Jigyasa, "Aree Jigyasa…woh haar kahaan hai…jo meine tujhse mangawaye the."

Jigyasa scowled as she stood up, "Tony…where are those garlands…bring them quick."

Jai looked at Adi and hissed, "Did you put her up to this?"

Adi shook his head, "Why should I? Considering…."

Jai gave Bani a funny look, "What have you been saying to masi?"

Bani gave him a cold look, "Nothing…there is nothing to tell is there? She is your masi…pata nahin…kya usske dimag mei hai…"

Panditji smiled at Jai, "Chalo beta…pehle aap bahu ko haar pehnaiye…phir who tume phenaigi." Masi held out an exquisite red and white garland to Jai, "lei…phenade…bahu ko."

Jai almost snatched the garland from masi's hand. He roughly shoved over Bani's head. Masi gave Bani's hers, "chal Bani…munna ko pehnade." Bani slipped the garland non too gently over Jai's head.

Jai went to get up but masi stopped him. "Abhi nahi…panditji..sindoor ki dabbi dedo."

Panditji held small silver box with the crimson powder. Jai looked at masi, "Yeh kyun…yeh toh usski baal mei…"

Masi looked serious, "Haan pata hai…par haar pati ka dharma hota hai…ki apni pati ki maang sindoor se sajai…aur aaj mei tujhe yaad dilati hoon…aur harroz yeh faraz nibhana suna…"

Someone called out, "aree masi…aajkal ke larke larki…kya mante yeh riwaze…purane lagte hai…"

"Haan purane hai…lekin…yehi se lagta hai…larki kissi patni hai…aur uska pati yeh singaar kare toh riste mei pyaar badhata hai."

Tarun clapped, "Masi…darling…that is true…rishte mei pyaar aana zaroori hai…"

Masi smiled at Jai, "chal bahu…ki maang bharde…." Jai took a pinch of red powder and stared at Bani, who was looking horror-stuck at what Jai was about to do. Jai reached up and quickly dabbed the powder in the hairline, little bit powder sprinkled on Bani's face.

Masi's eyes teared up, "Hey Bhagwan…bas mere bacho ki jodi sadah khush rehe…Jai yeh tofah hai tum dono ke liye…yeh sone ki chain banawaye hai tum dono ki liye…aur hamare Chandigarh ki mataji ki mandir se aashirvaad ki saath layi hoon…ek tere liye aur ek bahu. Yeh pehnade bahu ko…" Masi gave Jai the gold chain, which took without any complaint. He fiddled trying to prise the hook free and then found a pair of small hands taking the chain and opening it for him. He looked up to stare into Bani's eyes filled with laughter. Instead of smiling back, he just felt disquiet fill him as he slipped his arms around and put the chain around. When Bani did the same he couldn't look at her. Both them stood up and took masi's blessings and then found themselves surrounded by family and friends.

Now that the vows are renewed, will Masi make JB share the same room.😉

"Hello Jai!" Jai turned around to find himself face to face with Roshni Chopra, his ex-fiancee…the woman who had decided to abandon him for a chance to work in US.

Jigyasa hugged Roshni with bubbling enthusiasm. "Hello Roshni…when did you come? No phone…nothing…yaar."

Roshni air kissed Jigyasa's cheek, "Sorry darling…jet lag…and then bhaiya and his family descended on me. They only just left an hour ago."

Jigyasa linked her arm through Roshni's, 'Never mind…you can relax with us. Jai will take care of you…won't you Jai"

"huh…what Jigyasa?" Jai asked, still dazed by seeing Roshni turn up at his home.

"Roshni…she can stay with us for a few days…its been such a long time…we need to catch up."

Jai looked towards masi, his masi hated Roshni…more so when Roshni dumped him. Jigyasa noticed Jai glance towards masi, "Don't worry about masi…Jai…I will manage her."

Before Jai could say anything, masi rushed up to them, "Yeh kya kar rahi hai yahaan? Sharma nahi ayi tera muh yahaan dekhana…yaad hai mujhe tune mera munne ki saat kya kiya tha!" Roshni returned masi's hateful glances, "Masi…who mamla Jai aur mera bich ka hai…aur jab Jai ko kuch problem nehi hai…mera yahaan aana toh…aap ko kyun?"

"Jai ne abhi shaadi karli hai Roshni…aur yeh ghar abh meri bahu ka hai. Uske anumati bina tu yahaan nahi reh sakti."

Roshni flicked her hair back and smiled viciously, "Shaadi…apne munna ki shaadi kar di…mujhe toh visvaash nahi hota…really Jai you got married and didn't even bother to invite me."

"Bani…biji Bani ko yahaan bejde." Masi called out.

Jigyasa felt furious, she trained her face to look placid, "Masi…who saab baate bhul jaiyenah…hamari dosti toh nahi khatam hogayi!"

"masi…aapne bulaya…" Bani said as she wiped her hands on the pallu.

"Haan…beta…isse miliye…Roshni Chopra. Jai ki mangetar thi…par mangi tor ki bhaag gayi thi…mera munna ko chor kar…abh tuhe baata…kya yeh yahaan reh sakti hai." Masi poured out her anger.

Bani looked Roshni over slowly, nothing the flawless almost white skin, perfect features and body draped in expensive designer sari. Roshni arched her brow and gazed with feline eyes.

"Hello Bani, congratulations…on becoming Mrs Walia. Must say looks like Jai's taste in women had changed. But then I guess you are masi's choice more than Jai'. After all…ek bara khandan ko sambalne ek pati vrata nari honi chahiyeh nah. Must say you are very pretty."

Bani gave Jai icy stare and then her eyes steely cold, "Ms Roshni…who gave you the right to step into my home and insult me. I don't care if you were Mr Walia's past and his best friend. I don't like people who insults elders…masi is Mr Walia's mother."

Roshni gave a brittle laught, "My I am mistaken…you are gutsy. Chalo…I am sorry…meine masi ki aur tumari insult ki. Let's be friends Bani…after all we do share a lot in common…Mr Walia's friendship."

Bani glared back, she wanted to slap the catty smile of Roshn's face. "Roshniji…we don't share anything in common…and as for Mr Walia…he is my husband…so unless you are willing to tie rakhi to him…only then I will understand that you don't have any other intentions to come back in his life."

Roshni face turned bright red, her eyes glinted hard, and she released a long sharp breath. "Why you bitch…I did not come here to be insulted by some street slut. I have heard about you and your sister…bloody gold diggers…one after another…both sisters tricked Jai into marriage."

A hard slap hit Roshni's face, the finger marks popping up on the cheek. "Get lost Roshni before I throw you out. I will not put up with insults to my character because someone has filled your ears with rubbish." Bani glared at Jigyasa, "I know who is your spy. If my husband doesn't have the guts to stand up for me…don't think I will whimper like a puppy and walk away. Masi does not want you in this house…and nor do i. Tony!"

Tony came up almost running, he couldn't stop hiding his admiration for Bani, about time someone showed Roshni the door…especially of this house.

"Bani!" Jai shouted.

Bani turned, her eyes spitting fire, "Yes…Jai!" She called him by his name and it had the effect of rooting Jai to the spot. His wife just called him by his name…she has never called him anything but Mr Walia. His mind went befuddled.

Dadi patted Bani's arm, "Bani beta…tune toh kamal kar diya…meri Jhansi ki Rani…bas yehi hai…apne ghar ki aur suhaag ki raksha karna."

Roshni turned on her heel, "Jai…come outside I want to talk to you."

As Jai made to move Bani stopped him, "Mr Walia…if you go after her…I will walk out of this house."

Jai looked at Roshni's receding back and then back at Bani.
