Sitting back in Rajeshwar's car the brother's looked at each other. Rajeshwar did not start the car. He looked at his older brother and said, 'Bhai you shouldn't have told him about Jig..'

'I had no choice brother, he had all the facts with him. the only thing he wanted was a nod from me… I couldn't…. I know I should have …………. But the harm is done.'

'Yes, I am terrified of the day jigs will find about it. she would leave the house for sure, you know how she is… and by the ways did you believe him the girl being his daughter could that be to ….'

'I don't know, if it's right we can't do anything about it….. the man has changed you can't reason with him now.. let Jigs deal with him now we will see what to do if the situation gets out of control… and Bhai she should not know that Aditya knows about her past…'

Aditya visited hospital for the sake of his sister. Krishna was worried about the fight Aditya and Jigyasa was having. She tried to talk to Aditya. Aditya refused any kind of talk regarding him and his wife.

Bani was in the kitchen making dosa for Anu. Anu would be back from school anytime she knew and she preferred to eat dosa. When Bani had told her she could make them she wanted Bani to make for her immediately. To which Bani had smiled and told her no one can make instant dosas unless and until you get the batter readymade. She was immersed in her work. She finished making and closed the casserole lid and walked to the living room. She looked at the clock. Any moment the bus would drop Anu. She waited for her in the porch. Precisely the bus stopped and she saw Anu getting out of it. she saw Bani and managed a feeble smile.

'What happened Anu?' asked Bani taking the bag from her hand.

'I am not feeling well Bani di…' she said walking in. Bani stopped touched her. She was burning with fever.

'go and lie down I'll get you coffee I made dosa for you Anu would you like to have them?'

She shook her head and walked to her room.

When Aditya returned home Bani told him about Anu's fever. Aditya went to his girl and touched her forehead. 'we will go to the doctor..'

'No Papa it's okay I am feeling better.. if I feel sick again we will go tomorrow..'

'Are you sure?' he asked.

'Yes, and besides my program is going to come on Tv..' she grinned.

Aditya smiled patting her head.

Bani looked again at the rash on Anu's face to make sure. 'tell me di what is it?'

'Anu did you by any chance get chicken pox earlier?'

Anu looked her horrified. "no… you mean this rash I have on my face and my tummy are…. No…' she cried.

'Go to the doctor.. I'll tell your father .. sit here and don't roam around…'

'You mean I should be locked in the room I should be isolated?'

Bani rolled her eyes at her drama. She left the room to Aditya.

Aditya looked at her in shock. 'you sure Bani?'

'hm… but I want you to take her to a doctor at the look of it its chicken pox.. I have heard the viruses are out there….'

'Where?' asked Aditya with a smile at her conviction. 'Outside our door?'

Bani blushed. 'no I mean I read in the paper….'

'I'll take her to the doctor… thank you Bani…'

'You don't have to thank me always.'

'Okay I am taking it back..'

She smiled. 'Aditya sir.. what about the others? Were you infected with…'

'I was when I was a boy, but my children no one…. Let us not jump to the conclusion.'

'okay.'

Anu was infected with the virus. Pia and Sahil looked horrified. 'what would they do? It was sure if one gets at home the rest of them had no chance of escaping. But Pia did not want to take chance she decided. She went to her father and told him she would go and stay with her bua..

'But Pia, Anu might need help..'

'Papa I am sorry I feel bad for Anu but I don't want that on me. How would I look if I get it on my face. Sorry papa and besides help.. Bani is here.' She left the study announcing her departure. He expected Sahil to walk in but he did not come before him.

Sahil and Pia left to stay with their Bua. In the evening Aditya went to visit Jigyasa and told her about Anu.

Jigyasa felt bad for her daughter.later she told him. 'Aditya the doctor says I can leave here after three days like I said I will not walk into the house where that girl stays. The choice is yours.'

'she stays, she is the only one who is staying there with Anu the other two are gone to Di's house…'

Jigyasa looked at him with disapproval. 'why did you let them leave?'

'what should I have done? Tie them up? They are learning from you Jigyasa when I couldn't understand you all these years what will I know of them?'

Aditya did not stay there long he left.

Jigyasa stayed in the hospital. She complained about the pain every time the doctor spoke about discharge.

Aditya watched how Bani took care of Anu. She boiled neem leaves and gave her bath applied calamine stayed in her room consoled her in the night when she would get up from nightmares. Made her eat reprimanded when she tried to itch the rash. He wished truly she were his own flesh and blood. He secretly envied her biological father.

Five days later Sahil came back. He looked guiltily at his father. 'I am sorry papa.'

Aditya was surprised. He followed him to the room and said, 'since you have stayed at di's house you should have spent few more days… you do know there are chances of infection.'

'Yes, it's okay if I have to get it I'll… I'll check on Anu.'

Aditya was happy to hear that from him.

Sahil felt awful at his behavior. Anu was his sister and he ran away fearing the infection she would give him. that was wrong on his part. Bua was happy to receive them as guests but she told him in no nonsense way what he did was wrong. Leaving his father and sick sister all alone. Jai bhai was out of town and he was happy for that he did not want to hear any lecture from him too.

He knocked on his sister's door and went in. Anu was shocked to see him her shock turned into anger towards him. she was hurt when they left. they did not even tell her bye. She turned her face.

'Anu, how are you feeling?' he asked pulling a chair from her study table.

'Don't sit on it… they are there..'

'Who?' he asked not understanding her.

'big bad virusus…'

Sahil couldn't contain his smile. 'I am sorry Anu.'

'don't talk to me.. go from here..i am still sick…'

'I am sorry..' he felt awfully bad. He was too insensitive. He had seen her cry over their mother when she was hospitalized. He never walked up to her to console her she did all their work that Bani, Anu was close to that…' he hated to think about Bani and due to the reason he was angry with his young sister.

'bhai, go from here..'

'okay…' he said finally getting up from the chair. 'you taking medicines?'

'Yes.. it's pretty bad and the itching you can't control you need elephant size will power not to do it… go bhai… I truly wish you don't get it.' said Anu looking at him.

Sahil felt a sudden rush of love for her. he smiled and left her room.

Aditya sat with his daughter. 'how are you feeling?'

'okay I think….'

'you think.. you are not sure?' he asked smiling.

'she is fine.' said Bani.

'You don't know Bani di..'

'I know.. I was infected when I was your age…' she said looking at her.

'you did not tell me..'

'you never asked.' Said Bani.

'kya apko bhi ithani itching….'

'Anuuuuuuu. Chup thumhari yeh itching sun sun ke mere khan mein bhi khujli hone lagthahein…' said Aditya.

Anu and Bani laughed uproar sly.

'What do you want from outside asked Aditya. He has been bringing all kinds of Anu's orders on his way home from work since she had fallen sick.

'Today is your choice papa… I'll be waiting.'

'okay..' he turned to Bani and asked. 'what can I get for you?'

Bani was surprised. 'nothing..' she shook her head.

'Aw come on Di, tell him…' urged Anu.

'Nothing..' smiled Bani. 'Aditya sir you are getting late..'

Aditya looked at her for a moment and said, 'Aditya sir Nahin Bani call me papa…'

Yay…' Anu cheered.

Bani's eyes welled with tears. She shook her head and left the room. Aditya looked at Anu. Anu shrugged her shoulders.

Aditya walked out to the living room and looked for her. she moved away swiftly as she heard his footsteps wiping her eyes.

Bani..'

Bani stopped not looking at him.

'Bani, I mean what I said no more Aditya sir I will not respond if you address me like that.'

Bani broke down again. 'Bani.. what is this dear? Come on and wipe your eyes…' he said taking her by her shoulders and looking at her tear stained eyes.

Bani looked at him. she saw love and warmth in his eyes. she managed a smile.

'tell me what this daughter wants from outside?'

She looked at him hesitantly. 'come on Bani. tell me…'

With a shy smile she asked, 'you will get me anything?'

'Yes anything..'

'Bring me balloons and whistles …'

'What? He looked at her not believing what he was hearing.

'hm…… I want balloons if you can get them for me then get them..' she said smile creeping up her lips.

Aditya smiled affectionately at her. 'that's' it?'

She nodded her head.

'you are sure?'

'yes'.

'you are sure you are not forgetting a feeding bottle too?' he asked smiling.

Bani laughed her eyes filling. Aditya patted her head affectionately blinking his tears.

Jai visited his mama in his office after coming back from his business tour. They were in his office jai asked him. 'Mamu.. what are you doing with your life? Mami is insistent to send her away and then only she will step into her house.'

Aditya closed the file and looked at him. 'Yes…. I know the unasked question of yours.. I can tell her the truth and end this.. the day I tell her about Bani that would be the end of this relationship my boy.'

A tremor went through Jai. He understood his uncle but… where will this battle end.

Okay then… come and drop me home and before that take me to some toy shop and well I'll tell you on the way.. my car is at the work shop…'

Jai nodded.

Sitting beside him in the car Aditya asked, 'How's Pia doing?'

'Fine… ma is spoiling her…' he said with a chuckle.

'How much more di will spoil her she is already very.. well all my fault if I had given more attention to them….'

Jai did not respond. He stopped the car near a toy shop. They walked in and got a teddy for Anu. 'will we get balloons and whistles here?' he asked.

'Balloon? Kya ballons ke sath khelne ka umre hei Anu ka?' asked Jai.

'you won't understand..' Aditya dismissed him. they stopped a sales guy and asked about Balloons. He directed them to a birthday accessories section. Aditya picked the balloons whistles and some stuff. They paid and got out.

Sitting in the car Jai asked, "Anu's birthday doesn't fall this month right?'

'No… thum bahoth poochthach kar rahein ho Jai. Chup raho..' Aditya scolded him. Jai kept his mouth shut. He drove him to his house. He got out to see Anu Aditya stopped him. "don't come in you know she has chicken pox…'

'Oh yes,' alright then bye.'

Anu shrieked with happiness as she got her teddy. She hugged it tight to her and Adi teased her. 'don't hug him tightly Anu you will give him the virus..'

Very funny.' She made faces.

'Where's Bani?'

'Kitchen mein where else?'

Aditya walked with the packet to the kitchen. She was rinsing dishes she turned to look at him as she heard her name being called.

'Come here.' Bani wiped her hand in the towel and went near him.

He gave her the packet containing the things she had asked to bring. With a smile she opened the packet. Her eyes shone and she smiled, 'thank you Aditya sir..'

'Papa.'

She looked hesitantly at him. 'You have the right Bani.'

But Anu Pia…

'hm.. alright call me when we are alone okay.. is that a deal?'

She nodded.

'What?'

'Ji papa..'

Aditya touched her face affectionately and left the kitchen.

Aditya heard laughter and giggles from Anu's room he went to look what was happening. He opened the door and stood looking at two of them who were behaving more like four year olds. Anu and Bani were blowing balloons. And playing with whistles deafening his ears. Bani stopped abruptly at the sight of him Anu giggled looking at him.

'Papa. Bani di …'

'Chup..' Said Bani.

'Hm I was watching..' he said trying to look serious. The room was filled with balloons one of them travelled in the air and landed on Aditya. 'Hit Papa come on lets play..' invited Anu.

Aditya looked at Bani. her face was filled with joy. She looked at him. Aditya nodded and hit the balloon. Anu shrieked joining the game……

Jai stood watching them from distance. He couldn't contain his curious nature as to why the gift and balloons and his uncle was not giving him proper answers he had to come and see it. Thankfully the main door was not locked he had sneaked in to witness the fun before him. He looked at the girl Bani. Who smiled radiantly at Anu and Aditya. He noticed her blink her eyes. She had gone and hugged Anu and looked at Aditya with so much love and warmth. Jai watched them for sometime he walked to the door and knocked. The threesome looked at his direction. Aditya frowned. Bani looked embarrassed Anu greeted him.

'Hi Jai Bhai..'
