It was evening already , Sun was setting far away into the horizon as Karn walked towards an unknown destination. He just walked almost lost in his own thoughts.. The letter he just read out loud in front of everyone had pierced his heart into pieces.. After reading it and taking along that black lotus he went out of the sabha and head into that aimless direction as if he wanted to sought comfort for his burning heart.. All those words .. did they really come from Princess ? Did she think so low of him? He just wanted to see her smile and happy but in return of his gesture he didn't see this coming.. May be his mother was right about the palace people.. May be he was wrong all this while .. He has seen worst of insults and have managed to brush aside those .. but this was giving a steep pain in his heart..
From the time he had seen Princess in his room when she first came for that ratn , he was astounded by her beauty and there was something about that face which made his heart skip a beat.. He could sense that softness and kindness of that soul.. Could he be so wrong all along..?
But why was it hurting so much..? As if someone had punched his heart and taken out and broken that into pieces... A lone tear came in those eyes.. It never came before.. even when he was insulted for his birth into countless situations before... Why now?
Had he fallen in love with princess before she had crushed his heart so badly..? Why it hurt this time more... He was still not angry with her... more with himself.. perhaps .. as he took out that black lotus a gentle smile came on those lips with pain reflecting in his eyes ..May be this was the end before it could even start.. those feelings shall remain hidden forever in his heart.. He still wished her all happiness.. She was his first but indeed forbidden love..
