I have noticed a few trolls who are here to create fights between Karna and Arjuna fans. I am sure without these few trolls and no outright comparisons between Karna and Arjuna, Karna and Arjuna fans can get along fine, become good friends too and have productive discussions. For that, there has to be a shift in mindset towards acceptance of each other's opinions. Let's all start on a clean slate! 😊

exactly it s all about perception some find karna better and some arjun better find neither of them better than the other 😆

my favourites are drapaudi krishna and abhimanyu i am very neutral towards the rest

but who is your fav?

Finally some refreshing maturity from someone... 😊 Thank you Nia.
But a few points, I'd to clarify.

1.) Mahabharat forums in the past have mostly been about Vyasa's Mahabharat, citations, debates, etc and less about the actual show. 😆 But this exercise can be made fruitful if people refrain from abusing or even immature fangirling and, instead discuss in a healthy, unbiased manner.
Of course, Mahabharat is a very debate-friendly topic and we might lose our cool sometimes. But we can still maintain a balance if we wish to. I personally would really love to share my knowledge (watever little I have) on Mahabharat
in this forum, and learn from others in return. People who are only interested with the show can avoid such posts while those who wish to learn about Vyasa's Mahabharata can participate. No compulsion at all! But such kind of serious knowledge sharing needs level-headed, neutral readers.

2.) I am glad the makers clarified that the show is fictional. But I doubt all viewers would buy it. Bcoz, not all viewers are active on India Forums/Facebook/Twitter to read the disclaimers made by the show makers. If history is any indication, then TV serials do make a lot of impact. But if the makers project the show differently, I would be glad.

3.) I love Tejaswi. ❤️ I hope the show focuses on her, and not on any other actress at all.

😆 Seriously ... in a thread where OP requested us to stop putting down characters and to stop the drama?

But, I'll let you have the last dig if that means we (I still haven't forgiven RadheyaUruvi for telling Priyamvada (Mahanalayak-Karna) to commit suicide) can finally move on. Can we let bygones be bygones, and start afresh?

And thank you for your coherent post Nia.
As a side note, I apologize for calling someone out in this thread (see above post) since that small part of it slightly goes counter to the well-intention you're seeking.

That being said, I think discussing the nature of characters in an intellectually stimulating manner, would be very conducive to the forum (so long as people didn't get offended). From discussing comes knowledge, and I'd love to learn more.

Maybe we should start a weekly reading club? We can read (or re-read) a chapter/few pages a week and discuss the contents of the book on Saturday/Sunday, draw parallels and criticisms from the MB (while it's her own work, the MB is an endless pool of wisdom, so referring back to the MB would be fun). This would all be strictly for fun, so there wouldn't be a need to bash a character.

Ignore the trolls. Yes, this book discussion is a good idea! Though I doubt how many have the temperament or the intellect to take it...😆

Hi guys,

This forum was literally created for Entertainment purpose only. But some Self proclaimed Scholars came here to brainwash the show fans ( or Teju- Aashim fans )

It is a humble request , let this forum be only for discussing about the show. If anyone will try to brainwash other show fans , then you will surely get reply. And guys stop abusing characters. Is is just the perspective that changes everything. Everyone is entitled to their own perspective. Don't degrade the forum the platform to sell your lies.

Peace !

Hi, I'm Nia. I just wanted to make a request on behalf of many of the forum members. I am sure that many of you have noticed the forum has become very toxic lately with crude words being casually being thrown around. So a small request: can we please stop comparing characters with each other and putting them down?

The makers have clarified this already. Karn Sangini is based off Karna's wife, a book by Kavita Kane. They have even mentioned that it is a fictional mythological series. It's main focus is neither about Mahabharat nor it is based on Karna vs. Arjuna. It is based off Karna and his wife, Uruvi. It is based off characters from Mahabharat. So discussions of Karna vs. Arjuna and what happened in the actual Mahabharat (unless pertinent to the show) are highly irrelevant to the show and the forum.

Moreover, there is no need to put down 1 character to praise another, as has been the trend on the forum. The characters are complex and have various shades to them. Many people have different perceptions of the characters- to some, Arjuna was the real hero and to some, Karna was the real hero. People who have read the original editions of Mahabharat or even scholars have different interpretations of the epic and the characters. To only say one singular narrative is right is doing injustice to the complexity of Mahabharat and its characters. For great pieces of fiction, even epics like Mahabharat, a testament of their success is their ability to evoke different emotions and perceptions in different people. So there is no way anyone can agree on a fixed perception of a character and Mahabharat. It is best to acknowledge this, respect other people's opinions and not impose your own views on others.

Additionally, there is no need to put down a character to praise another. There is no need to insult Karna to elevate Arjuna and vice versa. Each of them have their own strengths and accomplishments. Instead of comparing Arjuna and Karna, wouldn't it be more productive to make posts on their strengths and accomplishments? Moreover, if you disagree with a character's action, discuss his actions in singularity, instead of comparing to another and putting him down. Besides allowing a positive outlook on each character, it would also allow for more productive discussions as people would be able to resonate with each character. For example, if we leave aside the debate about who was the better archer and learn to appreciate, most people can agree that both Arjuna and Karna were great archers and dwell on their talents and accomplishments as a result.

Finally, will Karn Sangini distort people's perceptions of characters? Not really. As evidenced by the past few weeks, people already have fixed perceptions of the characters, which won't be affected by the serial. Even Nee's post on "Da Vinci Code" and her views as a Christian resonated the same sentiment. Instead they would rather be disagreeing with the serial. And while at that, please remember that people have different perceptions of the characters. While you may disagree with the portrayal of Karna for eg., others may agree with the portrayal of Karna or even feel the serial is underplaying his accomplishments. So, let's just view as a work of fiction and take everything in a positive light.

Can we all attempt to make the forum a positive one please? All of us will be here for the next year. So let's attempt to make this a good one and perceive this a chance to have productive discussions and make new friends. You don't have to agree with someone to befriend them. So let's not compare and put down each character and each other in the forum. Every character in Mahabharat is there for a reason so it's better to appreciate their presence and contributions in the great epic. And ultimately, the great epic is a work of fiction, so why are we fighting so intensely among ourselves and hurting each other for this? If you notice a troll who just wants to create fights, please report them in unison and their post instead of responding. That will put an end to the trolling. Thank you and hope everyone will understand and work towards making this forum a positive, productive and thriving one! 😊
