PART 6
The next day
Shiv stirred from his sleep and slowly opened his eyes. He went in the bathroom and took his shower thinking back to a certain phone call last night. When he came out in just a towel he saw gauri making his bed again. gauri heard the bathroom door open and looked up. She quickly turned the other way in embarrassment. Shiv just rolled his eyes at her and continued to get ready.
Gauri: uumm….how..how are you feeling?
Shiv: fights like these are very common in my life so stop worrying….besides your acting of being nice isn't gonna make me like you.
Shiv turned to look at her and then left the room to go to work.
While he was walking he heard two voices talking…one male and the other female. Shiv stopped and realized that it was his mom and dad talking.
Mahen: nikila whats wrong?
Nikila: mahen did you see gauri's eyes lately? You know ever since gauri was little she always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. Ever since she got married gauri has changed so much. I hardly see her smile now….and her eyes….her eyes are so hollow. I'm really worried about her.
Mahen: have patience nikila….gauri will get used to her new life…you'll see.
Nikila: that is if shiv lets her mahen….i know my son….when they got married I saw the anger in shiv's eyes….i'm really scared about what he is going to do.
Mahen: I know my son too…shiv is still a little childish….but he isn't a bad person. He may be angry at gauri but he would never do anything to really hurt her.
Nikila: I hope you are right.
At work
Shiv kept on thinking back to what his parents said when he got another call from shashank.
Shashank: you said you wanted to talk to me?
Shiv: I do…tell me where you're staying.
After a few minutes…a man of gauri's past and a man of gauri's future were face to face.
Shashank: why did you contact me?
Shiv: i want gauri out of my life.
Shashank: and you want me to help you
Shiv smiled: exactly….i don't care how you do it but just…just get her out of my life.
Shashank: itni nafrat karte ho gauri se?
Shiv: nafrat to mein tumse bi karta hoon….if you hadn't run away then my life wouldn't be hell right now.
Shashank: ooo shiv….so much hatred is not good (shashank gave an evil smile)
Shiv gave an irritated look: are you gonna help me or not?
Shashank: don't worry about that….theres something I'v been wanting to do for a very long time…all you have to do is bring gauri over here and leave the rest to me.
Shiv: alright
And they shake their hands.
A few hours later
Shiv enters his room to find gauri not there.
Shiv thinking: that's weird…usually she's here when I come home.
He looks around a bit and shouts: Gauri!.....Gauri!
Gauri: "haan….i'm here" . she walks into the room "you were calling me?"
Shiv: nahin…I was calling the neighbors. Your name is gauri right? Anyways get ready….i wanna take you somewhere.
Gauri looked at him surprised: ji? But…
Shiv: I'm not used hearing 'no'….get ready. I'm waiting downstairs.
And he walks out.
Gauri got a confused look on her face but she couldn't help but be a little happy…. 'I wonder where shiv wants to take me?'
In the car
Gauri thinking: yeh shiv mujhe kahaan le ja rehe hai?
Gauri: where are we going?
Shiv: it's a surprise
He averts his eyes from the road to look at her and gave a smirk.
Gauri saw a house approaching and wondered whose house it is. Shiv thinking: 'in a few moments gauri will be out of my life….i can't wait.' But shiv couldn't help but feel a little guilty. 'I wonder how gauri is going to react when she sees shashank….he did leave her on the wedding day after all. Why am I thinking about how she is going to feel? I'm just happy that she's leaving.'
Shiv and gauri got out of the car.
Shiv: gauri…why don't you go inside and wait….i'll go park the car.
Gauri: ok.
She starts walking towards the door and found it open. She quietly walked inside and found the living room. she went and sat down on the couch and waited patiently.
Shiv looked at his rearview mirror and saw gauri walk inside the house. He grinned evilly thinking 'thank god….she's gone'
He heard his phone ring and picked it up.
Gauri: ji aap kahaan hai?
Shiv rolled his eyes thinking 'this girl will never leave me alone'
Shiv: yea…actually….
Gauri didn't hear the rest of what shiv had to say because all thought were lost when she saw who walked in the room.
Gauri whispered: shashank…..
