Part 19
Gauri smiled and started with her first question. She said, "um what is your favorite color? Shiv looked up at her and said, "blue!" Then as if there was a spark it became question answer session!
Gauri: "What is your favorite food?"
Shiv: looked up and licked his lips and said, "Mexican with ice cream as dessert!"
Gauri: "What is your favorite ummmmmmm yes, what is your favorite time of the day?"
Shiv: He gave a very perplexed looked. He thought to himself, that's an odd question. Nonetheless he thought for a second and replied, "sleep time!"
Gauri: She looked at him and said, "now that's one thing we have in common. I love the peacefulness that you get when you sleep. Feel like you are on a different planet and can just lose all your stress for one day." Shiv retorted back, "exactly, that's the one time when you feel like there are no worries and that you can just be happy." Both of them looked at each other and gave each one a reassuring smile.
They went back to eating when finally Shiv asked, "what's your biggest regret in life?" Gauri looked up and with a smile said, "you know this is going to sound weird but I really don't have any regrets. I think that you don't have control in life. There are some things that are just inevitable. Plus anything that has ever happened bad to me has always turned out to be good for me." She felt weird discussing her feelings with Shiv but figured that if this was one of her friends she wouldn't hesitate." Shiv looked up at her and said, "that's a very optimistic way to look at life. I don't think I am that optimistic. Things get to me really quick. I tend to blame life for everything." He shrugged and went on eating.
Gauri broke the silence and said, "if you have one dream what would it be?" Shiv looked up at her and said, "to own a Ferrari and be Bill Gates." He laughed out load and said, "just kidding, I think if there was one thing I would wish for is for a happy family life and to be successful. I don't necessarily mean to make a lot of money, just the satisfaction that I was capable of doing something, you know what I mean?" Gauri looked at him and smiled. Shiv looked at her and felt very comfortable. He didn't understand why but he felt that he could talk to her about anything and everything.
Shiv asked, "what's your biggest fear?" Gauri with a very disgusting look said, "spiders! I can't stand them. I think they are gross." She shivered and made a horrible face that made Shiv laugh. Shiv said, "mm.. I see well I know what to do when I need to scare you." With that he winked at her which took Gauri completely by surprise. She smiled to herself and said, "this was one of the best ice creams that I have ever had." Shiv looked at her and gave her questionable look! He said "looks like you haven't had a lot of ice cream." Gauri looked up and said, "no I have had a lot of ice cream but I never met such a wonderful person while having ice cream.
