CHAPTER 5
Staring at his late father's picture blankly Manik frowned and lied down again near the window and stared outside. Nandini sighed seeing him as what he had to always look through that window. Something clicked in her mind and left smiling to herself. Manic was on his own world and the trance got broked as he heard her voice from behind.
Nandini: And the singer of the year goes to..Rockstar Manik Malhotra..yeahh taaliya bhai taaliya
He saw her clapping at him with one of his award in her hands. He frowned glaring at her while she kept the award aside and sat crossing her legs
Nandini: haa baba jaanti hu..ab tum yaa toh mera haath tod doge yaa pao..yaa phir sai jala hi dalo..par mai bhi thodi ziddi hu..mana tuhmari itni badi aur pagal wali fan nahi hu par phir bhi 5 saal hoh gaye..tuhmari awaaz sune hue..5 saal sai duniya suni pad gayi hai baba..ek baar sahi..bas gaalo..mere liye naa sahi..apne Dad kai liye..please
she pleaded through her eyes and he stared at her and then to the guitar which she had fixed and brought with her. With trembling hands he grabbed the guitar and took deep breathes wiping his sweats away.
Nandini: yes..you can do it..come on Manik..
she whispered staring at him lovingly while he closed his eyes and memories started flashing in front of him. How he used to thrummed his guitar strings..how he used to spread magic through his voice..how whole stadium filled with his fans used to go gaga over him. With trembling voice he started to hum first and then slowly let out musical voice from his inside.
Manik:
Hohhooo..woo..ohh..hooo..wohh..
Ashan Nahin Yaha..Ashiq hoh Jana..

he started singing and Nandini gazed at him lovingly hugging her knees and blinking at him..once he finished his song and opened his eyes he saw Nandini smiling and clapping in enjoyment. She was cheering, hooting and whistling for him. His face became serious as he saw the glow in her face due to effect of his song. He couldn't believe as after 5 years of his silence,,his voice didn't lost the magic and charm filled in it. He let out a tear and wiped them harshly . He had strong guts now that at least some one was there..who cared for him..though it was fake or he didn't knew..the feeling of it..the little happiness he couldn't describe it through words or expression.
Nandini gently made him lye down on soft mattress placed on balcony and she herself lye beside him and stared at the twinkling stars up upon the sky and smile. He looked at her and she pointed towards the sky. He turned and gazed at the stars with blank eyes and face. He blinked his eyes at them and uttered
Manik: St..Star..stars haina who huh ?
he asked with innocent look and she smiled at him..she knew he was unaware of every beautiful things and feelings in this world and was living in dark since when. Yeah..he was a rough animal..but he didn't choose himself to be born or be a animal..there were sitituation and craving for love which had made him like this
Manik: Twinkle twinkle little star..how I wonder what you are..up above the world so high..like a diamond in the sky..
she giggled listening the poem and he blinked his eyes at her. She turned towards him and smiled
Nandini: bilkul tuhmare tarah..andhere mai hi chamakte hai..kyuki din mai nahi chamak pate..par chamakte toh hai..tumne toh chamakna hi chod diya..agar yeh bhi chod deh toh andhera puri tarah chaa jayega..woh jeet jayega..they are defeating him..tuhme bhi apne zindagi kai andhere koh harana hai and shine like you did before..ek makshad dhoondo..apne gaane kai liye aur andhere koh hatane kai liye..jungle janwar sai dobara insaan banne kai liye..
she whispered and gently closed her eyes drifting to sleep while his eyes sticked to her. It then felled on her burned hands which were given by him. He let out a tear in guilt staring at it.

He gazed at her with intense look and smiled softly. With trembling hand he tucked the loose strands of hair behind her ears making her stir in sleep. He palmed his mouth and tried not making any sound. She turned away and slept facing other side making him little side. He stood up and walked to sleep to her other side so that he could glance at her face..

Whole Night..deprived of sleep he was just stealing glance of her. Every time she would stir and turned away in her sleep..he would just walk and change his place like a mad. While unaware of his gaze and developing feelings..she was smiling in deep sleep.
Next day she took him to the park making him refreshed and chill from his depressions. She was blowing bubbles around playing with him while he was just standing with his bubble bottle and lost in her
Nandini: yeshe ghoorne sai bubbles nahi nikalne wale..nikalo aur phook maro..ushi kai saath tuhmare andar joh dard hai ushe nikalo aur hawa mai phook doh..yeshe
with that she blew the bubbles and clapped bursting them with her fingers
Manik: suno..ek baat puchu toh..sachi sachi kahogi naa
he asked with little cold voice while she shrugged lightly blowing the bubbles..while he fumbled and uttered gazing at her
Manik: Itne dhyaan aur care kai baad..tum..tum chali toh nahi jaogi naa..dekho bol deta hu..agar tum bhi baaki sab ki tarah mujhe chod kai chali gayi toh mai apna sab guitar wagera tod dunga..khana aur medicine bhi nahi lunga aur tuhme hamesha tang aur hurt karunga..mai aur bhi bura hoh jaunga
He said little sternly glaring at her while she smiled and cupped his face gently.
Nandini: Pata nahi..itna ghussa kaise kar lete hoh..are baba mai kaha jaungi tuhme chodkar..tum jaise shaitan koh bhala koi aur sambhal payega..aha..mai hamesha hu..tuhme pareshan karne kai liye
she giggled and he smiled shortly with little feel of relief. After all his rude and animal behavior towards her..she wasn't ready to leave his side at all.
