Chapter 13

Nandini was going out of the mansion just then her eyes fell on a picture which was hanging on the wallwith a flower garland and she gasped

Nandini : Nyonika Aunty

Before she could control a sob escaped her mouth followed by tears. she stared at the photo of Nyonika and nodded her head in no she covered her mouth with her hands tightly and ran out of the mansion without waiting for Abhi.

Inside Mansion Everyone was looking at the way from where Nandini left with their jaws practically touching the floor.

Manik was the first person to come out of shock. But next second his mind recalled all the things which Nandini said and his temper raised from 0 to 1000 in a second and he gave 'The Manik Malhotra' special deadliest glare to Bua ji.

Bua ji : Ram who was this stupid girl huh ? I mean I don't know where exactly but I think I have seen this girl somewhere before but how dare ahe talk ill about my son. I'll not leave this girl and that Kia aliv...

All looked at Manik Ram tried to stop him but all in vain

Manik closed his eyes in pain after listening to this. Even though he was a man of modern and free thoughts at some point of his heart he was that possessive man who felt hurt and anger to know that someone else has already taken the love of his life but Manik shook his thoughts and now in his mind was occupied only love for Nandini and anxiety for kia's health. Two beauties of his life were more important to him than his stupid manly ego.

Manik : let's go guys. We need to see Kia.

Everyone left except Cabir and Ram

Ram : are you thinking the same thing which I'm thinking Cabir

Cabir : exactly Uncle I'm thinking the same thing, I don't know whether it's true or not but we'll try.

Cabir : plus navya is coming India tonight she'll surely tell us more

Soon everyone reached hospital Abhi took them to Kia's room in children's ward.

They all peeped in from the window to witness the saddest thing. Kia was sitting in Janki Aunty' lap and Nandini was trying to feed her and trying to cheer her up but neither was she eating nor was smiling. She was sitting there with expressionless face. The girl who couldn't sit on one place for few seconds, the baby who couldn't stop talking for a minute was sitting almost lifeless. This was the last thing any of them wanted to see ever.

Kia's eyes suddenly fell on Manik and the spark that was absent in her eyes came back in a second. She smiled brightly and wiggled out of Janki Aunty's lap and jumped on the floor calling Manit Manit loudly but due to weakness her jump turned out to be unsuccessful and she fell right on her already hurt knee and wailed loudly.

Though Nandini and Janki Aunty were sitting very near to Kia but before they could even move Manik burst into the room and picked up crying Kia and hugged her tight. He sat on the floor put Kia on her lap and started rocking her, rubbing her back and consoling her with loving words.

Everyone's eyes instantly became moist to see the scene but Nandini quickly came out of her trance and went to Kia.

Nandini tried to take Kia from Manik's arms but both of them jerked her hand. Nandini again with more force tried to separate them that's when both of them literally shouted at her.

Manik and Kia : NO

Kia tightened her hold on Manik's neck where she was hugging him and Manik hid Kia in his embrace moved showing Nandini his back and held Kia more protectively and away from Nandini.

Manik kissed Kia's head and himself started treating her hurt knee, they both after a while forgot about others' presence in room and started talking about cartoons and cricket. Seeing Kia normal made Nandini happy but Kia's closeness to Manik which she witnessed for the first time made her shocked.

Soon Fab4 sat on the floor and Kia became super happy she was for the first time laughing after the incidence.

Manik made Kia have her soup and medicine which she took gladly which shocked Nandini, Janki Aunty and even the nurse, Kia was not even ready to look at food was now she was having it happily.

All were chatting with Kia and she was happily talking with them whilst sitting on Manik's lap.

Nandini bent down and loving touched Kia

Nandini : Kia baby talk to me please

Kia who was smiling till now because serious again and ignored Nandini and hugged Manik tightly.

Nandini : Kia baby are you angry with Mumma. Tell me what did Mumma do that you are not talking to me.

Manik : Kia what happened ? Why aren't you talking to your Mother?

Evreryone present in the room gasped.

Nandini : Why ?

Nandini was agitated

Big gils (girls) and boyz(boys) of my skull (school) hit me, pull my hail, snach (snatch) my tiffin, push me on glound (ground) and call me dulty( dirty) gil (girl) becoz (because) I don(don't) have fadel (father). That day Techel (teacher) sail (said) to my fliends (friends) I'm not flom (from) good family becoz my mumma is a bad woman and I don(don't) know my fadel's (father's) name. You don tell me whele iz my papa, Becoz of you my skull(school )fliends don play with me, now I only have Manit, Cabu, muku, Alu and Dlu. But dat (thay) day Manit's Bua Aunty alsho (also) bullied me becoz (because) I don have a fadel (father). She will take Manit away flom (from) me, then I'll have no fliend (friend) noboly (nobody). Kia turned to Fab5 : Manit I don (don't) have papa. Will you alsho (also) leave me

Manik who was like everyone else in the room full of tears nodded in no and hugged Kia tightly. Fab4 moved and joined the hug.

Nandini on the other hand was standing like a statue she palmed her mouth hard to stop the loud sob which threatened to erupt from her throat. Tears ran down from her eyes over her hand which was covering her lips and dropped directly on the dupatta which hung around her neck. She felt like her heart was breaking into shreds. She closed her eyes tightly which made the intensity of her tears thicker.

She couldn't hold her sobs any more and she ran out of the hospital room directly to the garden of hospital.

She sat on a bench and started sobbing loudly keeping her face in her palms. She felt a hand on her shoulder. She froze at her place her body sensed the negative energy that hand was giving away to the atmosphere. She felt that this negative effect was familiar one, her body and mind felt that they have encountered this feeling before and finally her mind slowly reconciled the memory from her dreadful past and guessed a name and her heart skipped a beat in extreme fear over the mere possibility of that person's presence. She very slowly turned her face to see the person and all the blood drained from her face when the biggest nightmare of her life which she was avoiding from last 4 years of her life was standing in front of her with menacing smile on his face.

Person : How are you my love ?

Chapter 14

Nandini was praying to god for not letting that person be here. The nightmare she was avoiding like a disease from last 5 years.

She stood up with shaky legs and turned around. Her body was shivering like a dry leaf in a storm. She was already feeling sick with mere thought of crossing paths with that particular person. And finally when she turned around the world stopped for a second and started spinning with 100 times more speed, because the devil himself was standing in front of her with his devilish grin.

Her mind was nagging her to run but her body refused to oblige. He started coming closer to her. Each step he took to come near her she felt her conscious was slowly slipping into darkness. She started chanting Aayappa's name in her mind. She was begging her Aayappa for sending some help. She was feeling weak in her knees and churning in her stomach due to excessive tension.

Just then may be her Aayappa heard her plea of help Nandini remembered her papa's last words before death. She remembered that she had responsibility of Kia and she had to fight against devil. She understood that fearing will make her losses so she decided to try to behave a bit confident and She felt a little bit confident. Till then the devil had reached extremely close to her.

Nandini realized the closeness and felt disgusted when he touched her cheek. She gathered all her energy and pushed him away.

Nandini. : don't dare to touch me Madhyam Singhania. Keep your filthy hands away from me.

Maddy gave an mock impressed look : My love we are meeting after 3 years and this is how you greet me.

Nandini : it's my bad luck Maddy that I have to see your ugly face again. Just get lost now, will you ?

Maddy : Woh woh woh so my little butterfly is trying to act like a bee. But my bee don't forget I'm huge monster. You dared to shout on my mom and insult me. But don't forget butterfly or bee I can crush you with just snap of my fingers. Now cut the crap and tell me where is Sapna.

Nandini : I don't know.

Maddy became furious and held Nandini's hair tightly in fist.

Nandini hissed in pain.

Maddy : Where is Sapna ?

Nandini : She is not with me

Maddy slapped her hard and shouted : Tell me where is Sapna or else I'll kill you

Nandini chuckled to mock him : No you can't kill me. If you kill me then you won't be able to get those 100 crore Mr Singhania and if you don't get that money then how will pay those huge debts.

Maddy slapped her hard and Nandini fell on ground.

Maddy : Now that I have got you I'll soon find Sapna.

Maddy called his guards to hold Nandini and take her with him

His two guards held Nandini. She started screaming and struggling against those guards.

The guards were dragging her and she again started chanting her Aayappa's name and as always her Aayappa heard her request and soon the guards were on the floor holding their bleeding noses.

Nandini felt herself free from the tight grips of the guards and she opened her eyes to see Manik and Dhruv beating the craps out of guards.

Soon the guards ran away like rats. Manik then turned to Maddy who was standing there like a dumb idiot. Soon maddy felt the bone on his nose getting fractured because of Manik's super punch. He fell on ground wailing loudly.

Manik held his collar and made him stand up.

Manik : How dare you touch my Nandini.

and before Maddy could open his eyes fully he felt a rain of punches being thrown on him until he completely lost his conscious.

Manik stopped punching Maddy's limp body only when he heard Nandini's soft voice calling his name. He ran towards her and embraced her tightly

Manik : Nandini are you alright ?

He himself started checking on her body for some signs of injuries. Nandini looked at Manik with love filled eyes and threw her arms around his neck and hugged Manik tightly and started crying.

Manik instantly reciprocated hug and started rubbing her back to soothe her crying.

Manan would have stayed in that position for whole life but but Dhruv interrupted it by calling their names. Manan unwillingly left each other.

Manik : Nandini what was all this happening ? Why was Maddy trying to kidnap you ?

Nandini's eyes widened in terror she started stuttering due to nervousness : Wo_woh Ma_a_nik

Luckily Manik's phone started ringing and it was Mukti

Manik : Yes Mukti ? --------- ok ok we are coming ---- yes I found her I'll bring her back

Manik hung up call : Nandu let's go in Kia is calling you

Nandini : No Manik Kia hates me its better you guys stay with her till the time she recovers may be later I'll try to talk to her.

Manik smiled at her innocence : Nandu I have talked to Kia and she understood that it wasn't your mistake. she is calling you

Nandini : Sacchi

Manik : Mucchi, let's go in

Nandini smiled brightly and turned to go but her eyes fell on unconscious Maddy and she shivered in fear

Manik noticed this : Don't worry Nandini he won't bother you again I promise.

Nandini looked at him like terrified innocent rabbit : Really ? promise ?

Manik nodded in yes : Really promise. Now let's go

They finally entered Kia's hospital room where Kia was constantly asking for Nandini. Kia finally saw Nandini and ran and hugged her legs and started crying

Kia : Mumma I'm sholly Kia iz sholly. Manit sail (said) you lob (love) me sabshe jada (the most) I alsho lob (love) you mumma

Nandini fell on her knees to hug Kia. Both mother daughter were finally at peace.

Manik : See Kia i told you, your mumma will forgive you. You are very lucky Kia that you have your mother with you. You are the luckiest. It takes whole life for some people to understand a mother's importance. Never disrespect your mother ever. Do you understand ?

Kia pulled apart from Nandini and nodded in yes towards Manik and again hugged her tightly.

Person from behind : Even I love your mumma a lot little girl. What do you say Nanz do you still love me or forgot me ?

All turned back to see the person Fab4 smiled at that person. Kia and Janki Aunty had confused expressions but Nandini was 3rd time on the same day was frozen at only one place.

Everyone's eyes widened in shock to see a small cursive style Nanz named tattoo on her neck just below her hairline and all stared at her in suspicion.

Nandini again stuttered : well this can be coincidence miss it's actually short form of Nandini my college friends made it.

Navya smirked : Seriously Nanz smart move but how can you forget I'm super smart My friend Nanz had one more tattoo on her body I want to check that one too.

Nandini's eyes widened and Navya smirked in victory. She advanced towards her and Nandini stood up holding Kia close

Nandini : stop it. Ok stop it. I won't allow you to invade my personal space.

Navya : Why are you afraid huh ? and why are you so shocked and how do you know where I'm exactly going to check for tattoo

She raised her eyebrow towards her hand which Nandini was clutching her chest. Nandini quickly removed her hand and started fidgeting with her dupatta.

Navya : Come on Nitu let me check

Navya started irritating Nandini. After a very tiring and eventful Nandini was totally exhausted and Navya was irritating the craps out of her finally her she lost her control.

Nandini : STOP IT NAVU. STOP being ridiculous. Yes I'm your Nanz happy now ?

Navya jumped on her to hug her and shouted YES VERY HAPPY NANZ VERY HAPPY.

Nandini : oh no what have I done.

Chapter 15
Nandini : What have I done oh no

Navya broke their hug : Exactly what have you done with yourself in last 5 years. Where the hell did you disappear. Do you have any idea how I have lived these 5 years without you. Some stupid people said to me that you you are dead.

Cabir : and all those people had to roam around with purple and black eyes for next few weeks

Nandini chuckled : so still you give your super punches to people.

Mukti : ek second, ek second what's going on here Cabir what are these two talking about Niti Kapoor. Aren't you Nandini ?

Kia : Mumma who iz she ?

Navya : Nanz who is she ?

Nandini : well Kia this is my childhood best friend Navya and Navya this is my daughter Kiara.

Manik who was starting at Nandini with wide tear filled eyes gave Kia mutely back to Nandini and went outside the hospital room followed by Fab4.

Soon Kia was fast asleep Janki Aunty left home with driver because Nandini insisted her to leave. Fab5 stayed there for Kia and for answers.

When Kia was finally asleep Fab5, Abhi and Navya entered the room
Navya : Now tell me who's her father Nanz.

Mukti : Before that we all want to know your truth why did you hide your identity. And Cabir you how did you find out she's not Nandini?

Aliya : Are you related to Shikhar Kapoor ? Yami Kapoor Singhania?

Manik : Most importantly why is maddy behind you ?

Nandini : Guys please

Abhi : No Nandu not today you are hiding your identity,your pain, your sufferings from so long what do you think that I don't see that pain and fear in your eyes. Please Nandu for my sake tell us the truth. Tuze Kia ki kasam tell us the truth.

Manik who was standing in far corner of the room came and sat in front of Nandini

Manik : I want to ask if that's ok with you

Nandini just nodded and asked him to proceed.

Nandini : Niti Kapoor.

Manik : Are you related to Shikhar Kapoor and Yami Kapoor Singhania? But still you look different.

Nandini : Yes late. Shikhar Kapoor is my father and late Mrs Yami Kapoor Singhania my Older sister.

Manik : Why did Maddy attack you today ? He is I mean was your elder sister's husband. Why is he trying to hurt you ?

Manik : Why didn't you go to police ?

One very great social worker helped me to escape and go to my grandmother at Mangalore but she also had to pay its price by losing her own life.

Nandini's voice choked : I'm sorry Manik I'm so so sorry

Manik asked her while wiping her tears

Aliya : I know Nandini it's not our right to ask but we all are curious can you tell us who is Kia's father

Finally Aliya asked the most awaited question everyone looked at Nandini curiously. Manik was the only person who was not ready hear the answer. He was not ready to listen the fact that someone else had already claimed his love. But still his love for her made him stay.

Nandini sat there quite silently weeping.

Mukti : it's ok Nandini take your time
Mukti passed nandini a glass of water.

On the other hand Manik was thinking about that day's events. He remembered about Nandini's wild avatar and suddenly something clicked in his mind. The way Nandini fought with Bua ji Manik remembered that she very clearly talked about Maddy's character as if she was accusing him. She had said that Maddy forced himself on some girls and before he could stop himself to rethink about his stray thought a question slipped through his mouth.

Manik : Nandini is Maddy Kia's father ?

Nandini tightly closed her eyes for some seconds. Today it was Kia's swear that forced her tell everything truth

Nandini slowly whispered : YES

Manik couldn't stop the flow of tears which leaked from his eyes and he stood up and directly went to window of the room.

All others stood there like statues

Navya : that Madhyam Sighania I'll kill him.

Cabir : Wait Navya

Navya : No Cabir no didn't I say that before that someone forced himself on nanz and Madhyam was the cheapest man I have ever seen.

Mukti : Navya how do you know Madhyam ? And you didn't tell how do you know Nandini ? How did you guys separate from each other ? I'm totally confused guys.

Navya : My father and Nanz's father were best friends and that's why Nanz and I are childhood best buddies. Our fathers decided that US education was good for us so Nanz and I went to US for studies when we were 12 years old. Yami di was Nanz's mother rather than sister she was person full of love every one would just like her the moment they met her.

Mukti : We know her Navya. I mean we had met her once.

Navya : One day Yami di called Nanz and told her that she was in love with a boy. Nanz and I helped her to make Shikhar Uncle agree for their marriage. We didn't know much about the groom, just his name and how much di loved him. We all trusted di's judgment implicitly and never crossed checked the man's character. For Yami di's marriage Nanz and I came to India at that time I first saw that man and trust me he was such a cheap man but Yami di was in love with him that's why we couldn't do or say anything. I was with Nanz for one week for the marriage and in that one week he always tried to touch her pass dirty comments on her and what not. He once tried to forcefully kiss nanz that caused a lot of drama but as always Nanz stayed quiet for Yami di's sake.

Aliya : oh my god what happened after that ?

Navya : After marriage we returned back to US. After two months Nanz received the news that Yami di was pregnant. We all were very happy but nanz she was on cloud nine. Because of her exams she didn't get a chance to visit her di during her pregnancy.

It was 8th month of di's pregnancy and one day Nanz received a call from India that her di was sick and hospitalized. Nanz without thinking twice left immediately for India. I promised her that I'll join her in few weeks. But because of my college and work I couldn't go to India for next one month. Then my Papa called me and said that Yami di has given birth to a baby boy.

Manik : I know after that we received a call saying that Yami bhabi died while giving birth to baby. But because of business trip we couldn't visit them and after one week we received a news that because Kapoor's house caught fire Shikhar Uncle and baby boy died and the younger daughter of Shikhar Uncle was missing.

Navya : Yami Bhabi ? How do you know them ?

Manik : Well unfortunately Maddy is my cousin

Navya gasped : What ?

Cabir : don't worry Baby Manik knows his real face.

Navya asked Nandini : What happened after that Nanz ?

Nandini : Please Navu I don't want to talk about it please

Navya : No Nanz no that man needs to pay for what he did with you.

Nandini stayed silent. She was the person who had lived the story personally. She felt like screaming on the people who were telling the wrong story. She wanted to scream that it was all lie but she couldn't. Her hands were bound. So she stayed silent.
